Man..totally got juked there by thinking that ND was going to be the far and away Number 1

I won't be making the trip down, but I'm excited for the VaTech game as it will be a big game for both schools and will be a lot of fun for the fans. I look forward to future discussions on this board with you and other fans that stop by our board.

Yeah those Notre Dame fans sure are great. They never sell more than half of their tickets to an opposing team's fans, practically turning it into the opposing teams home field.

I don't know if I hate ND, but I'll tell you what upsets me. They lost to Syracuse, one of the worst teams in the nation this past year, and lost to plenty of other teams they shouldn't have and only beat the weaker teams. They then go to the Hawaii Bowl and beat a bad Hawaii team by 3 or 4 touchdowns and had one of their most complete games of the season. Despite all their embarrassing losses and their "good" showing against a bad Hawaii team, some people are now putting them in the pre-season top 25. Seriously, that's ridiculous. Nebraska went 9-4 and beat Clemson, ND went like 7-5 or something like that and lost to some bad teams. They deserve to be in the top 25 because of that and we don't? It's like if USC ever lost it's touch and had down years, the media would have a hay day talking about it all the time and mourning the loss. They would also find any excuse to keep trying to fight USC back into the top 25. It's a giant love fest and I hate it.

LOL I thought this was from the Gator Bowl so I didn't even bother looking, but then I saw a building that looked like Old Father Hall and thought maybe I was there! I looked at which team was playing and saw it was the Fuffaloes, got all excited, and found myself in the student section. Man this thing is awesome lol.

Doesn't Nebraska lead the nation in some All-American category? Like most Academic All Americans or am I wrong?

Sometimes that playbook can be a bit too much and I think it deters younger players from getting playing time because the playbook is so darn big. I wouldn't be surprised if on the day Callahan got fired, he grabbed a U-HAUL to take his playbook back home.

That's a good prediction. It sucks that ND is going to go far and away with the point total though. Weiss will help everyone catch up. I agree that ND will take #1. They were too good for too long in the early years. I do like seeing two big12 teams in the final 5. Haha no doubt about Weiss there. <<Weiss.

No way he makes a big impact at running back next year with three solid RB's ahead of him. Plus, I have heard he has struggled during his RS year. Position change? I also like the athletic RB types who convert to an OLB or a safety. We could use both. Of course, he might ultimately make a great RB. Who knows. But if he is buried at RB and we can use him elsewhere, well then, I hope he moves. Yeah, the guy is like a miniature Castille. The dude's neck is as big as my entire thigh. If he converted to anything it would be OLB or something of the sorts, but I'm sure his heart is set on being in the offense and running the ball because that's just who he is. Some people do have him a little over hyped though. The guy has great speed but, at least in high school, he reminded me a lot of how Lucky ran while he was here. If he broke out he was gone but missing reads and getting tackled on the first hit was common.

I hope they both redshirt, unless Green blows all the coaches away with his ability. The last time we had a mobile quarterback like Green redshirt, it worked out pretty well for us (Crouch).

I meant to say when was the last time we recruited somebody great/legendary/important etc. Man, you are right. Eric Crouch was the last big time player I can remember that has come out of Nebraska. makes me wonder what kind of high school coaches we have in Nebraska. The only sport I see in Nebraska producing anyone is in volleyball, because they have good club coaches. I think we should start having spring practice like they do in Texas and Florida. I know our talent pool is lower because of population, but good coaching makes a huge difference. Zach Potter? Ty Steinkuhler? Those two were good players, but not big time All-American level players. Although Ty sure looked big time in the Gator Bowl. But Eric Crouch was the last Nebraska native All-American , and that was 8 freakin years ago. What happened to Omaha producing all those great running backs, and where are all those great offensive lineman from the small towns. To me, it has to be sub-par coaching, as it has been just to long since we have had one. Come on Nebraska high school coaches, step it up, we need better coached players from you. I agree with you husker forever. Zach Potter and Ty Stein are not big time All-American Players. They had big games and good seasons but they are nowhere near the level of the likes of Eric Crouch/Ahman Green. Coaching is pretty sub par in the Nebraska area, especially in Omaha. Where are my corn fed bull dozers?

I am hoping Collins Okafor somehow gets some reps at back and has a big year. It's going to be very hard with Helu, Q, and Mendoza running the show, but hopefully we can have some place for him to participate.

As long as we can snag something from MU before next year's football game, I'm happy

The scoring system really isn't all that bad, seems pretty fair for the most part. The thing that worried me at first that the conference championship game gets you 5 points, and some conferences don't have those so I figured somebody was getting gipped. I think they mean, however, that you just need to have the best record in your conference at the end of the year. Overall though, it seems pretty fair. There aren't any ridiculous points that can be given or taken away. I wonder if Nebraska will fall into any situations where they are awarded negative points?
