  1. You are not wrong. NW handed us a ton of runs, but if you have followed, we were smoking the ball with hard contact the first three innings. Hit balls directly at them along with good defense by NW saved runs…. Then ironically they hand us everything in the 4th. But we haven’t done anything since them. No solid contact or runners
  2. Worthley goes 1-2-3 in bottom of 7 after getting Nebraska out of the 6th. Fantastic start for the lefty.
  3. Worthley gets us out of the 6th, but Husker offense has been asleep since the 4th. Heading to bottom of 7, clinging to a 6-4 lead
  4. MM day done , as he gives up a 2 run shot. 6-4 Huskers. Worthley entering game with 2 outs in the bottom of 6. All in all, pretty good outing for MM as hasn’t pitched in a while and threw 85 pitches
  5. MM on a roll after a shaky first inning ( kind of the theme this weekend for the staff). Huskers crushing the ball in the first 3 innings with not much to show for it, then score 5 runs in the 4th , recording only 1 hit. Huskers lead 6-2 headed to bottom of 6
  6. Congratulations Huskers. Traveling, so catching up. Christo shows toughness and grit to bounce back !!! JC with blast!
  7. Huskers Win!! 8 in a row. Sears with great outing, not quite to his standards, but 7 innings, 2 runs. Gets the win to move to 5-0…. But hero in my eyes is Kyle Perry ! Came in with bases loaded, 0 outs and doesn’t allow a run! Offense does enough
  8. Pitching change. 1 out in bottom of 9th. Sanders in to try to finish. Tying run at plate
  9. Huskers tack on an insurance run. 5-2. Perry hits first batter then a seeing eye single begins to make things interesting
  10. What a fantastic job by Kyle Perry! Bases loaded, 0 outs and gets out without a run !! 4-2 Huskers headed to 9th
  11. Borst walks only batter faced to load them up! Bases loaded 0 outs. Don’t like the fact Bolt didn’t make the pitching change at the beginning of inning
  12. Sears struggling in 8th. Boarderline call on walk, hit batter on 0-2 count… runners on first and second with 0 outs. Think Bolt stayed with Sears one inning too long. Fastball losing velocity. Borist onto pitch.
  13. Huskers go scoreless in top of 8. NW defense is solid as they make a few more great plays. Bolt runs Sears back out in the 8th
  14. Sears retires the side and goes a complete 7. Allowing 6 hits, 2 runs. Not as dominant as we are used to seeing, but definitely a quality start by any standard. Huskers lead 4-2 headed to 8th. Worthley throwing in pen and likely will enter
  15. Huskers had really good top of 7. Walk, hit and run, sac fly, single…. Score 2 and take a 4-2 lead headed to bottom of 7.
  16. Sears goes another1-2-3 with 7 pitches in the 6th. After the shaky start, he is back in form. Now the offense needs to capitalize
  17. After Huskers fail to score in top of 5, Sears goes 1-2-3 again . Tie game headed to 6th. Huskers load bases with 1 out but K and ground out leave 3 stranded in top of 6
  18. Sears records his first 1-2-3 inning with 2 weak ground outs and a K to finish. Huskers need some offense
  19. NW plates another as Sears is uncharacteristically allowing hits, combined with an error. NW did have 2nd-3rd with no outs after the run but Huskers escape
  20. Nebraska putting ball in play but NW has played really good defense! 2-1 skers going to 3
  21. Sears escapes 1st and 3rd with 0 outs. Pop up, K, ground out. No damage done. Sears has 3 K, but has allowed a HR, 2B, single
  22. Walsh monster blast to left gives the Huskers a 2-1 lead. Caron just missed a HR as left fielder makes catch at the wall.
  23. Sears leads the nation in whip and the Big 10 in era, but a little rocky start… gave up solo shot and walked only 8th batter of season. Huskers trail 1-0 after 1.
  24. I hear ya…. I just know that the staff felt that he got screwed after SA and they also felt as if he could have easily been named it after Grand Canyon. Just basing it off of the remarks that I have heard, followed by his best outing so far, I just had to express my biased opinion. I wasn’t trying to say anyone didn’t deserve it. The Rutgers kid pitched a fantastic game
  25. I know I am biased, but I think Sears got screwed out of being named Big 10 pitcher of the week, for probably the second or third time. The kid from Rutgers went a compligame, allowed 4 hits, 1 walk, 9 k, 0 runs….. Sears went 8, with 2 hits, 9k, 0 walks and 0 runs. Not his fault that he didn’t get the opportunity to finish. Also privy deserved it after South Alabama when he went a complete 8, with 7k, 0 walks, 0 runs…. I understand it isn’t about individual awards, but I truly believe he is one of the top pitchers in the league (after 6 weeks)…. It could all change in a hurry, but as of now !
