  1. I agree. Maybe I am a little out of touch and I know that theses athletes are in fantastic physical condition, but I believe the CC starter went 103 pitches and Sears was around 90. Both only went around 6 innings and were both very good, not wild. Seems like a lot of pitches for guys who don’t walk batters. Plus, it seems early in season for starters to be logging that workload. Not questioning Coaching, just an observation
  2. I thought the imo tonight was squeezing both starters for most of the game. I missed the 7-8 innings
  3. Huskers rally for 2 in the 8th and 2 in the 9th. ( was traveling so I couldn’t get details). We lead 5-4 going to bottom of 9. Sears off the hook, which is good bc the way too well to take the Loss. Finish guys!!
  4. We plate 2 in the top of 8th! 4-3 CC
  5. CC getting after Horn. Two hits, walk have cost Huskers 2 more runs….4-1 CC still batting in 7
  6. Huskers fail to score in 6th. Horn into pitch !
  7. Sears goes 1-2-3 again, with another k. 88 pitches, so probably headed to pen in the 8. Fantastic outing from Sears, going a full 6, 7 k, 1 bb, 2 hits. Get some runs!
  8. Skers get 1 back.. Silva lead off double, scores on 2 out double by Evans
  9. Sears with another 2 k, gives him 6. Unfortunately not getting any offense to help overcome the HR. C’mon skers !
  10. Huskers had runners on 1&3 with 1 out but double play ends inning
  11. Sears another 1-2-3 inning ( his 3rd out of 4 innings). Offense needs to string something together . Huskers out hitting CC 4-1 but trail
  12. Huskers trail 2-0 top of 4. Sears pitching well, but did walk his 2nd batter of the season, followed by a HR. 1 hit, 4K, 1 bb, 2 runs offense struggled again in first 3 innings
  13. Didn’t get to watch, but was told Defense wasnt stellar today. Christo was solid, but CC didn’t strike out much. Offensively we struggled against that 73-74 mph fastball. Their reliever was awful today, allowing offense momentum. A win is a win and hopefully carries into tomorrow
  14. Very fair assessment! I only had a slight push back, but yes, Christo coming off of an iffy performance last weekend in relief really bounced back. Saving the pen on Thursday and Friday (only 1 guy out of pen on Friday) was really big!!
  15. I may push back a little on Christo. Sears had a better stat line across the board… both went 6… Christo 7 hits, Sears 2… Christo 1 run , Sears 0…. Christo 4 k, Sears 7…. Both gave up 1 walk granted, it was Christo’s first start of the year. Nice to debate over two quality starts. Hopefully both can continue to put up solid numbers!! I still think Iowa may end up making a lot of noise, but I like what I have seen from our guys for the most part.
  16. Agree!! Sears never looked at their players. I really thought it may get ugly after KP gave it to the guy.
  17. Finish weekend 3-1, which is huge weekend! Need to get things in the pen figured out, bats were alive !! Looked like no love lost between these two teams. Huskers warned Friday, GC warned Sat after their pitcher absolutely went goofy after he got out of jam, teams had to be separated after game last night, and then a lot of stare downs after game today
  18. Last chance for Big Red. Top of 9, down by 2
  19. Huskers with a two out rally of their own by loading the bases, all with 2 outs, only to fail to score when GC third baseman makes great diving catch to end inning
  20. GC gets that run back with a two out, walk, and triple when Silva dives for sinking line drive and it skips past. 7-5. GC
  21. We only scratch one across after loading the bases with no outs, but still right in it. 6-5 GC , headed to bottom of 7
  22. Sorry for lack of updates, had to step away. 6-4 GC, but Huskers making some noise in top of 7. Bases loaded with no outs on top of 7
  23. GC go back to back to take a 4-3 lead, bottom of 3
  24. GC does something they haven’t done all series. They score 2 in the first. 3-2 skers
