  1. I know this fanbase (myself included) is delusional, but to think Urban Meyer is coming here is just next level madness.
  2. Yep. If Omar is an "NFL guy" you absolutely take your chances on a 50/50 ball. Give your playmakers a chance to make plays.
  3. If that performance didn't exceed your expectations, I don't know what to tell you. If someone told you after the Illinois game that we would lose 23-16 to OU and we had the final possession with a chance to tie/win, you would 100% take it and be thrilled.
  4. Bookie getting abused by Grier and West Virginia.

  5. I'm shocked Mo got caught from behind here. I assumed he was faster and the tackler didn't take a great angle either. Really wanted to see him house that.
  6. I was not a fan of these uniforms when they first announced them on Twitter. I ended up loving them on the field. We should rock black cleats all the time.
  7. Good lord, give it some time. This type of overreaction and demand for change is what has gotten us to this point. We need stability in a scheme and recruitment for that scheme before we can truly judge it. If you brought in the best DC in the nation and judged the output after less than 1 year, you still wouldn't be happy because it takes time for players to learn the scheme and to recruit the players to fit the scheme. TRUST THE PROCESS.
  8. @lo country I agree with all of your points. Currently battling it out on my status regarding our mutual take on the poor use of Gifford against an OT all day. He's not Jadeveon Clowney, so maybe don't use him as such. Where are the mixed fronts? Bring 8 guys up to the LOS, rush 5/drop 3 or rush 3 /drop 5, etc. Make them at least think a blitz might come. This is a Diaco-level base 3-4 with poor in-game adjustments and it's maddening. DB's need to learn how to turn their head and play the ball. If you're not even at least looking back toward the ball, you're gonna get flagged for any amount of contact.
  9. Well that's your opinion, but that's not the rule. These refs were trash but that was technically the right call.
  10. There was a RB right there on both plays. So that's your intended receiver (despite the fact that he was blocking) and thus no penalty.
  11. This scheme looks eerily similar to Diaco's way too often. No pass rush, soft coverage with a 7-10 yard cushion and guys running free across the middle.
  12. Can we not bring the whole front 7 up to the line and have some guys blitz and some drop into coverage? Of course the blitz isn't gonna get there in time when you're bringing your ILB that's starting 5 yards off the LOS.
  13. Our pass rush is trash, but I saw multiple blatant holds.
  14. We were damned if we do, damned if we don't. When we rushed 3 or 4, the secondary couldn't cover to save their lives. When we brought the blitz, it never got home and Thorson found the open man. So I guess that makes me lean toward personnel.
  15. Why do they insist on using Gifford as an edge rusher? He was consistently getting manhandled by the offensive tackle all game. Love the kid, but that's not his game.

The other sack was probably Gifford.  Completely unblocked.  Gifford is serviceable but not a playmaker.  I expect more from a Nebraskan than taking up space. Hell, I could have made that sack.  I want to see a difference maker from a Nebraskan.  Play with heart and Nebraska pride, do something extraordinary, inspire your teammates- PLEASE!!!

@Husker Richard  Yeah I see what you are saying.  Maybe being schemed like that isn't to his advantage either.  I do like your avatar HR.

  16. I would replace BC with NW since we need speed at OLB to cover their spread attack.
  17. Wouldn't they still want him to play in 4 games this season? Northwestern would be a good game to get his feet wet at a position of need as they have shifted significantly to a passing offense with the retirement of Larkin.
  18. Loved Ziggy's resilience tonight. Named the starter this week, yet Mo seemed to get the majority of the snaps. Mo goes down and Ziggy comes in and takes advantage of his opportunity. No pouting and no quit.
  19. What time should I leave Omaha for the 2:30 Purdue game?

As mentioned above, it depends on what you are looking to do or fulfill. Single, married, taking family & kids, ages if this is the case, alcohol yes or no, type of food you want to try, do you want to visit specific campus functions, museum, or simply walk around. Do you plan on tail-gating. If you don’t have a parking spot lined up or not? All these things will affect what time you want to leave by. If you are going to indulge in a full blown day of experiences, with family or friends, take some cash/cards, and while the cost of things are not earth shattering, you can easily drop 3-4 hundred in Lincoln, from arrival, to the post game drive.

@TAKODA any recommendations for family fun related to the game this Saturday you’d be willing to share? Got a 10 and 5 year old going...

@VectorVictor. Well, let’s see, this really is going to be subject to what time you are heading down and or what you and your family enjoy. Have you been in the Suh strength and conditioning  building? You can see our National Championship trophy’s there. Not sure of the times you could get in, but worthy look. The museum at Morill Hall is neat for kids, the state capitol was enjoyable to visit, I used to go to Pioneer park when my kids were smaller, it had live wildlife at that time, always wanted to stop at a restaurant out by Pioneer park, as people told me they had the best chicken ever, but time always killed my chance. Knapp knows a lot about the campus, he might give some suggestions. Oh, if you have not been to Pinnacle, might be able to get in to walk a bit, not sure though.

  20. Any info from today's scrimmage?

  21. Has anyone taken Uber/Lyft back to Omaha after a football game?

I've had to take it from Eppley to my home in Lincoln twice before.  it was about $90 at a non-surge time.  You could probably expect to at least double that, probably more. Some drivers might not want to take your fare after a game though too.

You'll pay peak pricing at that time. Minimum $50.

3 of my friends did it last year for a game.  If I remember correctly they paid about $40 a guy.  To give you an idea on geography they live around 42nd and Center.

  22. Give me your best sites to buy aftermarket home game tickets.

Memorial Stadium is the best site for that.

@Landlord Well, I'm making the trip back from Denver. Kinda wanna have tickets in hand before we get there.

Totally understand that, but my rebuttal would be that I've never not been able to find tickets for face value or less outside the stadium.

  23. On the HuskerOnline podcast they said there has been quite a bit of tackling to the ground this spring. They noted that this was a significant change from past springs.
