  1. i give Walters a pass too.........for now. by October of next season we need to see some results.
  2. i think Wandale and Mo can handle most of the running.......
  3. good for him.........hope he lights it up and shows he is ready for the next level.
  4. some good thoughts and comments here.......room for improvement, hope Chin watches a lot of film this off season.
  5. i think for me, the Iowa game was frustrating because i didn't see any adjustments to stop the cut back runs that were getting big yardage for Iowa....that play was there for them the entire game........our guys upfront continued to over pursue and no one stayed home for the inevitable cut back...so, we are saying that was not a coaching error?
  6. NW, Iowa, Wisconsin.........they will all be back and our D will need big improvement to match up with them.
  7. perfect? no, but he is not there yet........lots of positives for the kid, but back to back sacks, he still needs to work on his vision.......Frost needs to roll him out when he sees that pressure. put him in a position to succeed. use those feet to avoid the pressure.
  8. even Frost felt frustrated seeing our linemen getting pushed around.......we have a lot of work to do up front on both sides of the ball......will need 2 years at least to see major improvement.
  9. i sure wouldn't say he is good in all phases of the passing game......took 2 consecutive sacks when he could have thrown the ball away........he needs to learn when to throw it away or run sooner....think he was sacked 5 times or more?
  10. exactly, he is nervous in the pocket, doesn't step up well, then wants to take off, but waits until it's too late.
  11. half time adjustments on both sides of he ball were not especially good either........ physically, Iowa really seemed to out man our guys....not a lot to do about that. the fake field goal by Ferentz almost bit him in the a$$ too.
  12. most of the time he could use a 3 count and then throw the ball........if you watch the replays, most of his sacks were on 4. either way, throwing the ball away instead of taking the sack would have helped quite a bit.......standing in the pocket was not the best call, rolling him out would seem to be a better option, didn't see much of that.......on a pressure D more slants and quick throws over the middle seem a better choice? regardless, getting sacked/hurries repeatedly call for a different plan....and we knew the Iowa defense was going to apply pressure.
  13. me either........etiquette requires he gets 1 or probably 2 more years.....mainly because anything we do next season will probably be construed as progress........would imagine Frost will feel obligated to keep his original staff together for at least 2-3 more years......sux.
  14. our schedule will help more than anything........we have a lot of upgrading to do. and for all AM did this season, he has some basic flaws to correct.
  15. we threw the out pattern to the side line WAY too much......predictable s#!t play. Mario has not taught AM to keep from throwing into coverage Mario has not taught AM to throw the ball away, instead of taking sacks slow developing plays killed the offense.....AM has much to learn
  16. although Chin gets another year, obviously, i don't believe he survives here..........for now, he is along for the ride with Frost. the over pursuit and failure to cover the cut back runs was a problem all day long.....no fix.
  17. as Frost said, rivals are for fans.........i dont see any.
  18. another kid who has improved so much........need this again at Iowa.
  19. the hit out of bounds early in the game set the standard for piss poor officiating........been poor all year.
  20. winning these last 2 games is important, bowl or not.
  21. sounds like our guys are pretty beat up. that concerns me.
  22. Bell wanted to be the starter after he impressed a few times......and didn't want to keep working. sends a good message to future recruits.......you must practice hard and get better and work to play for Frost.
