  1. It’s almost like the same voices to predictably line up to proclaim we need to cut Big Business yet more breaks to juice our economy are full of crap.
  2. If you care at all about data this is just another drop in the bucket. The stack of special elections so far is very decidedly blue since the Roe decision so that indicates this is a very salient issue on a district level. What we make of that on a national level is up to us. But it is staggeringly different than the top line general election poll numbers.
  3. Not really a cartoon but thought I'd throw this in here as I know we've mentioned it a couple times.
  4. If you have any sage advice for them to do so, I’d buy you your ticket to wherever you need to go to explain it to them. From where I sit they’re on the geographically worse end of an archaic, broken system and both sides are pretty dug in where they’ve got power now and don’t want to give it up. I do see calls for them to shift priorities. Give up on guns, punt on abortion, etc. Basically capitulate on GOP positions to make gains in red areas. The problem is voters too are dug in. We’re hyper polarized. Red America is pretty content to watch Fox News to confirm their priors. That isn’t gonna change regardless of what the Dems do. They’ll just invent some new reason Dems are Satan incarnate and conservative voters will agree.
  5. The bolded just demonstrates poor judgment. For what it’s worth, the damages amount are literally just equal to what it was calculated that the Trump Org fraudulently benefitted from with their shady math. So the court is asking them to give back what they shouldn’t have had in the first place. And people are suggesting that is unfair to Trump. Americans have collectively lowered the bar so far for this moron. It’s absurd.
  6. The broader country should probably also admit they just flat out hold the Democrats to a much, much higher standard, akin to what we should expect from intelligent, reasonable, functioning adults. Meanwhile Republicans get a pat on the back and a participation ribbon every time they get through a day managing to dress themselves and make coherent thoughts without crapping their pants or tripping on their own dicks. Allegedly serious people will strain themselves to admit this isn’t true. We should consider why that is.
  7. This is for sure an old white dude take if there ever was one. Probably time for Jimmy to switch parties. He’d fit right in!
  8. Democrats support unions. The Big 3 are in Michigan. This is way simpler than you guys are trying to make it.
  9. The simpler explanation is people dislike Elon because he’s a douche.
  10. Does it? I’m pretty sure if you gave them truth serum, wouldn’t most evangelical Trump supporters admit they understand what an amoral cretin he is and they simply don’t care? I mean I don’t interact with many of them but it seems to me most of them don’t mind his personal failings because they’re all in on the “instrument of God” narrative, as ludicrous as that is. I’m sure there are a few who are personally deluded enough to believe he’s a totally a devout, godly Christian. Seems the majority of them realize he isn’t but are willing to make a deal with the devil because he advances their causes and give him judges they like. Oh sweet irony.
  11. In the rape case he had to post the judgment amount plus interest so he could appeal the ruling. So I think you have to put up the full amount if you plan to appeal. Of course in that case he just went right back to defaming her so he willfully jumped right back into legal peril, again. Some folks are just slow learners.
  12. Back when I was in college in Omaha I'm pretty sure at the Dodge street location they just took the shovel-sized scoop they used for fries and dumped em directly into your bag. It was by far the most fries I've gotten at any burger place ever. Didn't even come close to finishing em.
  13. Oh come on. Aren’t you being a bit harsh? This Trump fellow seems the reasonable type. I’m sure he carefully considers his words. Do you actually have any evidence he’d deliberately incite anyone? That seems a bit far fetched.
  14. That piece of s#!t has been playing stupid games for a really long time now. It’s high time he win some stupid prizes. Trump has spent his entire adult life f#&%ing around and with any good luck he’s well into the finding out phase. You’re right, I’m not gonna cry any crocodile tears over anything that befalls notorious victim DJT. He can pound sand.
  15. Anybody else care to explain to me how that a$$h@!e is the victim here? I'd really love it explained in greater detail. I really didn't think the "Donald J. Trump, perpetual victim" movement needed more steam, but it chugs along.
  16. So your natural instinct to get even with the evil leftist hypocrites is to rush to the defense of the fascist a$$h@!e. Got it.
  17. Good god man. It's way easier to be upset about the complete weirdo spouting fascist incitement than the damn headlines.
  18. You argue the silliest points and just willingly sidestep anything that isn't explicitly spelled out for you. I get it, it makes your arguments easier. Here's the problem: whether you care to acknowledge it or not, a growing sentiment within the base of your party is that Russia isn't that bad. They're just taking back what's theirs. The other side are the aggressors. They're trying to uphold conservative christian values. Or any other number of ridiculous arguments I've heard that they're not really a threat and other entities are much more clear and present dangers to us as a nation. Peak ridiculousness i that notion that Russia is constrained under Trump/Republicans generally and only aggressive under Democrats because they're more afraid of the tougher Republicans. Hell, if I go up a few posts you're using a version of this argument. GOP electeds realize these dynamics and exploit them for their own benefit because their voters are stupid enough to believe this crap. They're not advancing Russian interests because they care about Russia. They just know their voters are utter rubes and they're happy to make them useful idiots if it keeps them in their cushy Washington gigs. It's bad for the world and it's damaging our democracy.
  19. I think everyone of all political stripes can pretty roundly agree Don Lemon sucks. This just seems like a story of two uber douches trying to out-douche each other, right?
  20. Isn't arguing the rich already pay enough in income taxes kind of a red herring? Don't the ultra wealthy realize the vast majority of their wealth gains through sources that aren't taxable as income anyway?
  21. Political superfans are just deeply, deeply weird people. It doesn't really matter what team, though Trumpers for sure seem more prone to it in today's political climate. There's a person who lives a couple blocks away from us who has no less than probably a half dozen (I'm guessing more, I haven't counted) Trump-themed flags draped all over their fence facing the street. Down that street is somebody else proudly rocking a "God, Guns and Trump" flag. Comparatively, I've got a Biden bumper sticker. I'll put up a yard sign of the candidates we're supporting in elections. But it's not some central part of my identity and I don't feel the need to buy a bunch of custom swag to show everyone how big a fan I am. What the hell happens to people they get this f#&%ing weird?
  22. Well I think you answered your own question here…
  23. Yeah SCOTUS royally screwed the timeline of everything up, multiple times. It might sound harsh, but anybody that doesn’t view SCOTUS as a decidedly political body doing things with political ends in mind is a moron or being intellectually dishonest.
  24. This badly misstates what he actually found. Hur is a GOP hack who predictably did GOP hack things in a way to maximize benefit to his party and try his best to damage the opposition. Even a GOP hack working within those parameters knows there was not enough to charge him.
