  1. Ahh, I love the early part of the recruiting season. When all the studs of next years class get profiles on Huskerboard, since it's only the studs who get all the early attention. It's disappointing when we don't land any of them. Oh well, I'll go back to my corner now.
  2. I think Auburn was preseason ranked around that number last season...And look what happened there. On the other hand... Texas was preseason top 5. Preseason rankings= Worthless.
  3. http://my.journalstar.com/post/Husker_Extra_Group/Husker_Extra/blog/ducks_ducks_ducks.html Good to know the boys at the LJS blog are just as big of FB creeps as many of us on this board.
  4. Unfortunately it sounds like it, nobody has said anything about him leaving other than the fans. As unfortunate as it is, Barney is like the slow kid on our staff... I guess for now we're content to let him stay, and on the whole, just leave him alone to do as he pleases. This is unfortunate for Coach Cotton, who secretly yearns to spend more of his time coloring and watching Arthur.
  5. Dirk Chatlin now has zero credibility in my book. hasn't had any with me for a while. it has become clear that he holds a grudge against bo for not being open enough with the press. Sure was funny to listen to him try to stir the pot and pi$$ Bo off during the teleconference, though.
  6. F*ck iPod spellcheck. Sardines=Warinner.
  7. Sardines would be a great hire for OC based on what he could bring to our Oline alone. Cotton has to go... Line is just not consistent. Can't go roll over bad teams (ISU, KU, SDSU)... Although we did some (KSU, Mizzou, Wash part 1). Consistency is not there. I can only think of one board member who actually supported Barney- dylan. We got into a bit of an argument about it in another thread earlier this year. His argument was built mainly on statistics IIRC - how we were near the top of nation in rushing ypg. A bit skewed IMHO, but that's neither here nor there. Also a fan of Houston's OC. They've churned out awesome offenses year after year. More like a Leach Texas Tech attack than an Oregon.
  8. Sounds like a young, QUALIFIABLE Ricky Henry.
  9. Jeez, we really should try to avoid ticking this guy off before he even steps foot on campus... He's good, and we don't need to risk losing his services.
  10. All I can say is... Why the F ARE WE KEEPING COTTON ONBOARD??
  11. Bo said during the presser that he was still waiting on a signature from a guardian and then they'd release the official list of recruits to the media. One would think he was referring to Stafford.
  12. Wow, awkward silence after Dick C. tried three times, in different words, to coax Bo into admitting staff changes. Denied. Bo also said plainly in regards to Heard, "Can't talk about him... He ain't on the list."
  13. I was thinking they'd probably been given such instructions. Oh, nevermind, Dick C. just went there. Bo flatly denied he'd hired anybody. And he shot Dick down twice. Ouch.
  14. If you're referring to the rumored coaching changes, Bo said last night he'd only discuss Signing day and the recruiting class. That being said, I'm just waiting for someone to bring it up... Wonder what treatment that first brave guy will meet.
  15. I just thought everyone should know I'm flapping my arms up and down like a slightly slow but excited Angry Bird because we landed this kid. Good thing there aren't any of those damn Green Pigs around...
  16. For the second time now, tweets are limited to 140 characters.... hence the abbreviations.. just because his tweets are reminiscent of a 11 year olds girls text doesn't make him unprofessional.. Read my post before dogging me. I wasn't bothered by what he abbreviated, this time his info was wrong. Peat is not still considering Oregon State.
  17. Let's think of Rivals as the steak, and Scout as bologna. Here's an analogy for you, straight from Jim Gaffigan: "Steak is like the tuxedo of meats... And bologna's the retarded cousin. If you're eating steak, something special's going on. If you're eating bologna... you might be special."
  18. I just can't take this Nyatawa guy seriously. His first tweet was worded like a text, and now in this one he claims Peat is still considering OSU. Sorry, not trying to hate on the guy, but he just doesn't have his ducks in a row.
  19. I agree with this 100%. That is what has been bothering me about the whole thing. To wait til after the kids sign (or right before) to do this is not right. The idea that the team and high school recruits know these things and it isn't leaked everywhere is also not something I can believe. Who knows how long Bo's known for sure he was going to make the changes, though? That's one aspect of this no one seems to have brought up yet. I'd like to think we wouldn't keep recruits in the dark intentionally, but if Bo only just finally decided on staff changes earlier this week, it's not like he'd been hiding it from recruits since the end of the season. Isn't it a dead period right now? If that's the case, he couldn't tell recruits.
  20. Well, looks like all that remains to be done with this thread is merge it into a massive "Big Surprise??/ Nat'l Signing Day Official Countdown" Thread, as it seems this is where 90% of the board has spent the majority of the night. The plot thickens...
  21. Just like he was clearly the runner up to Brown when their high schools played each other on ESPN in the fall.
  22. The only two guys it makes sense to fire are Cotton and Gilmore. I know many pine for Watson to be gone as well, but firing the offensive coordinator would gut our offense and then we'd have to go find a new one who can run the spread Bo wants, and then he might want to bring in his own assistants. Although Bo is loyal to a fault to his coaching staff (minus Ek, who was basically his whipping boy), I think if the TO or other higher ups convinced him changes had to be made, he'd be willing to cut Barney and Gilmore loose. Those two positions clearly haven't reached their full potential yet, and filling those positions would require a ton less effort than the OC position. It'd basically set Wats up to have one more chance to prove himself in 2011 as well, perhaps allowing him to bring in his choice of OL and WR coaches as well.
  23. Well done, sir. You actually came out and made a statement and didn't just throw out some vague drivel. Right or not, it is nice that someone actually said something solid. Guess we'll see come Wednesday whether you speak the truth. Still, either way, I like that I don't need a freaking decoder ring to understand what you're saying.
  24. Back to the original post, thank you Crabtree for your amazingly groundbreaking statement. I'm sure your average bear couldn't surmise on his own Prince has outdone his :star RB ranking. Brilliant. And it is great to have likely third rounders in every level of the defense next year. If they can step up and provide good leadership (guys who are that good need to), we can be terrifying next year.
  25. hmmmmmmm..... that would be a BIG SURPRISE...especially if the other followed. Im convinced there is something going on Hate to be a cynic, but that seems like Rivals pumping sunshine for UDub and NU fans, trying to sell some subs before signing day. Of course, I have no idea, but I bet there's nothing of substance in that article. Just a guess, although Rivals seems to produce less BS stories than Scout.
