  1. somewhere it was stated season ending surgery tomarrow. who knows.
  2. From what I saw he was the only one to do his job correctly.
  3. We had to blitz to get one sack, we could not get into their backfield without double rushes from the ends by backers. We got late sacks by the DL, but Maine held them out most of the game. We are in major trouble this year. We would have lost to anyone else on our schedule last nite and include Baylor. We have more problems on the defense than we had last year.
  4. Reality, we are in real trouble from what I saw last nite. The OL is possibly the worst we have ever had. The DL is with out a doubt the worst we have ever had. Their 8 man rotation was mauled by Maine's division two OL. The DB's were adequate and LB's played well, but it is against a 5-6 division 2 team. If Ruud had not intercepted that ball, I think we would have lost last nite. I know we would have lost against any other team on our schedule. Our talent level is so low we may never recover from this. And I said this before and I will say it again. I love BC, but I wish he would stick that friggen book up his butt and get into the game. If the players have to know the plays then the OC/Head Coach should too.
  5. Rawhide, Great chips and salsa at Los Vaqueros on the west end of town. Food is okay but the chips and salsa very good. I will take you up on that after I get back form Missouri.
  6. chips and salsa from Chilli's, I think I am going to be sick, very sick. Actually closer to garbage and tomato paste. YUK YUK YUK. Sad state of affairs if you have to eat Cillis chips and salsa, my heart goes out to you along with a sack, burp!!!
  7. It always amazes me that a bunch of internet geeks kno more than coaches that have been doing this for their whole lives, coached in the Super Bowl, wear Super Bowl rings, coached NFL MVP's, NFL number one draft picks, taken teams to the Rose Bowl and won. Time for you guys to get new jobs obviously, you should be doing theirs I am sure.
  8. I think 8-3 is realistic, and would be very happy with that level of improvement. I have a good feeling about this team, much better than last years. I do not think we will win the CCG, but I think it could end up being Tech that we play again. I do not see Oklahoma there under any circumstance.
  9. I see them losing to Texas for sure, most likely Kansas and UCLA. I am not convinced that Stoops is the greatest coach unless he has the best athletes. He will be starting over 12 new starters on this team, and most have very little experience. Of course I could be totally wrong and they will kick butt from the start, but I have my doubts. I do not think they are as strong as what Tech brings to the talbe by any means... The big 12 is for Texas and Texas Tech to fight over in my mind. If we can not win it, I would like to see Tech get it.
  10. I will wait until after the Wake Forest game. We will know where we are then. If the team has jelled we will be in the thick of every game and the possiblity of going undefeated in the North is realistic in my mind. But we must whip on Wake and I mean bad. If that happens we only have one more game that really bothers me and that is Tech. I actually think Oklahoma will have several losses by the time we play. If the Wake game is close, then Pitt will be a problem, Tech will be a loss, Kansas, Oklahoma and Colorado are likely losses. I prefer to think we will be in my first category.
  11. El Pollo Loco and chips and salsa. The only way to go!!!!!
  12. When you have two of the best players on the team working against the coaching staff it is pretty hard to correct the problem. With no talent to replace those two players ready to play you have to grin and bare it. This will not happen again. I will not buy the story if it is put out again. I know there were real problems with both sides of the ball. Too many changes in too short of a time. That is under the bridge. I think this year if we have a problem child, he will be benched and quickly.
  13. I am hoping after 11 or 12 times this year they have it figured out.
  14. There comes a day in your life when you and only you are responsible for your actions. LP reached that day many years ago. Blaming Tom for this is crazy. Any more it seems no matter what happens it all goes back to the poor boy did not have this nor did he have that or some one abused him. You and only you make the decessions that form your life. Most know right from wrong. I don't care where you came from or who raised you. That crap is bullsh#t as far as I am concerned. I grew up with an alcoholic father who burnt our house down and 3 drunken step fathers, that beat my ass every time I turned around. I watched them beat my drunken mother. I got thrown out of the house at 15. Sexually abused by a gay guy when 14. You put things behind and you move on. I never graduated from High School. But I own a multi million dollar company, have a new home, have a retirement home, spent 26 years in the Marine Corps and have accomplished every single thing I put my mind to. I am finishing my 3rd year at the University of Redlands at 58 years old. I just do not swallow it is someone elses fault. Sorry.
  15. It is a cleansing of this program. For the players to admit to all that there were problems is good. It will open the door for conversation between them if there are problems this year. I think the worst is past and we are moving forward with a great staff and most importantly what seems to be a real team bonding together.
  16. This drivel does not even deserve a response.
  17. I think I just wasted a minute of my life reading this. I still am wondering why. Could some one please explain.
  18. GJ, I think you hit the nail on the head. I do not see excitement falling off at all. If anything it is up. We are all geeked to see what will happen. It is a very exciting time to be a Husker fan. We used to count games that could be a game, now we just do not know where we are. That is what is great about college football, on any given day it can happen. I think this team really comes together this year. We may not see the wins we all want, but the nucleus for a strong team is forming and that will spell trouble for the others in the future.
  19. Keep us posted Pill on your games. How does the team look. I can only barely remember the excitement of high school football. So far back it is unbelieveable. I have my 40 year class reunion on the 16th of September, I scored a winning touchdown on that weekend my senior year. It will be fun to be back, we are all going to our high school game that nite also. Should be a lot of fun.
  20. Reality is sometimes very tough to deal with. We are not a top 25 school and in honesty have not been since the destruction in Colorado. We were shown to be down on speed, talent and motivation then. We traveled for a couple of years hiding our failures with mirrors. Ugly jumped up and bit us last year. Now we have to deal with what SP saw all along. We have taken steps to correct the problems. It is obvious how far we have fallen when we can bring in Jucos and they are instantly better than what we have. These kids ended up in Juco for a reason. Not good enough or did not have the grades to go to a major college. My guess a combination of both. How well the Jucos fair against the real cream of the crop of the top teams will tell us how far we have to go. I think this staff found jewels in our Juco crop. I think we will fair well this year. But we are still a very long ways from having the talent of any of the top 15 programs in the country. It will take another two years to get there, but we will need some major wins and moral victories to keep the recruiting gate open. If we do well this year, we will find it harder next year to recruit the top kids. Last years 5-6 is truly what opened the doors for this class. With the bad sometimes comes the good. We are in good hands and Ihave faith in BC that he will get us back to being a respected program. He has a long ways to go, but we need to be here behind him. Understanding just how far we have fallen and understanding how hard it is to get back on top. All you have to do is look at Alabama, Notre Dame, Penn State and USC. It can happen. SC has done it. We will to.
  21. The key thing is that this year we have a team that wants to play for this staff.. Pelini is not disrupting the players. We have no malcontents it appears. I will take less talent and no experience with players that give 110% all the time rather than those that quit during the season like last year.
  22. During the KState game two ago I was in a sky box with a very big booster from Texas, when SP said, or very close to " I promise you, we will not be embarassed by lack of talent on the field, I will right this ship". He did not say he was going to fire Frank. Most of the conversation during the game was the lack of speed and how overweight some players appeared. Lack of conditioning, and motivation. I do not normally put this type of information out, but there was a lot of preasure on Pederson to correct what many high buck boosters felt was wrong. Take it for what it is worth.
  23. It would not surprise me to Coach Snyder leave next year, but it will be on his own. They would never fire him under any circumstance. He made that program from the ground up. A couple of bad years to them is to be expected, no big deal as they know he will turn it around.
  24. Tailbone, Thanks for the info. I am trying to set everything up now. I am going back to Missouri for the Nebraska game on the 22. The wife is not to happy about Montana, but who knows I may make it work. I have always found college football fans to be great no matter where I go. I love the atmosphere and respect each programs traditions. I have never in attending over 120 college games had any kind of a problem with the opposing fans. Being proud of your school and respectful of the other makes it very easy to communicate. I attended the Miami/Nebraska Rose Bowl. I took my Great Dane and put a jersey and flag on him. The Miami fans had a ball with it. Called him the best looking Nebraska Cheerleader they had ever seen. At the same time a couple of the Miami Cheerleaders saw him and went nuts over him. Tried to give me a Miami Jersey for him to wear. Had a ball. This is suppose to be on our most hated rivals. Never a harsh word from one of them. Partied with a bunch till almost 3am. You normally get what you ask for I have learned.
