I miss the feeling of roasting a presumably 'good' team. I'm trying to think of the last time it really happened. Might have to go back to 2010 when we ran all over Missouri? The final score was relatively close but that game got out of hand fast.

Maybe the Cousins/Bell Michigan State team we best 24-3. That was complete dominance, weren't they ranked 7th or so?

Both of those Nebraska victories came the week after our opponent had won a big game against a top 10 opponent, too. I believe Missouri had beat Oklahoma at home the week before playing us in 2010, and then MSU beat Wisconsin the week prior to losing to us in 2011.

I think the Cowboys had one of their starting Linebackers go out for the season with injury already, IIRC, so there's opportunity. Here's hoping he makes it, does well, and then moves to a significantly better team.

Sean Lee is always injured.   So I suppose there ou s opportunity there.

Really shocking news this morning.  Unbelievable boxer.

He's for sure one of the very best I've seen in my lifetime.   I would say him and Roy Jones Jr. are probably the top 2 (so far).

He's doing very well and is very lucky (and fixed haha).  His kennel rattled open in the bed of the pickup and he jumped out doing about 45 mph.  It looked a lot worse than it ended up being.  I was sure I'd have to put him down all the way to the vet.  I think he's going to live a long, happy life and I'll probably feel worse about the leg than he ever will.

@The Dude I hope you don't take my comment out of context poorly, and I wasn't trying to be a jerk.  I'm a dog lover, and it looks like your pup took a nasty spill. Hopefully he will adapt quickly and get back to having a fun-loving life.

I think really cold temperatures feel warmer than 10+ because you start to not feel it as much. Probably the body's coping mechanism for the insanity you're putting it through, although you die faster.

Wife and I wanted to see a comedy on date night and there weren't many options. It's absolutely awful - just flat out not funny. In the running with Cool World as the worst movie I've seen in the theaters.

Platoon is funnier than this movie.

The tougher to beat a team the 2nd time thing is probably harder to debunk with Nebraska fans because we have shown a propensity of playing much worse in second game same season matchups. OU 78?, Washington Holiday bowl and Wiscy CCG games all immediately come to mind. I can’t think of any that have gone our way.

Its also been my experience with youth hockey games. I can’t count the times a team would beat another in the seeding rounds only to lose to the same team in bracket play. It’s all anecdotal but.....

Just a thought...

Even if the winner of the first game is 23-14 (62%) it can still be true that it's tougher to beat a team in the 2nd game. If it wasn't the record in the 2nd game should be more lopsided. They've already beaten that team once and they only beat them twice 62% of the time.

So, 1st game losing teams improve from 0-37 to 14-23 in ccg rematches and from 0-22 to 15-7 in bowl game rematches. Pretty definitive that it is much tougher to beat a team the 2nd time.

@Redux Not fighting. Just disagreeing with your initial oversimplification. Then, you mentioned that Nebraska fades at the end of the year. From 0-6 to 4-1. I am pointing out Nebraska seems to be the team getting stronger over the season this year.

@Thanks_Tom RR I get what you're saying but I did not interpret what @Redux initially said as needing debunked. It seemed obvious that he was referring to the typical past and not to this season specifically. I don't think you guys are disagreeing, just maybe on a little different page.

What's funny is when we were losing I heard it non-stop from my Iowa fan friends. Now........they're really nervous to play us because they know this isn't the same team that went 0-6. We're dangerous now with this offense. If our defense can just play a bit better I don't see us losing to Iowa.

The way things are trending, Nebraska and Iowa St are not going to be easy wins for awhile
