  1. I hope they change the spelling of the first one. "Outland Trophy Winers" Oops.
  2. I wish former players would just say they support the team and will be cheering for them on Saturdays, whether you agree with the style of play or not. Little interviews like this are non-productive. They either make the former player look like a bitter "back in my day" guy, they create unnecessary controversy, or they make it seem as I there's a rift between current and former team personnel.
  3. Have you followed the Jimmy Graham franchise tag story at all? He's maybe the league's best TE, but for salary purposes no one is sure whether to list him as a TE or WR. Why? Because he, along with all the league's best TEs, lines up as a WR at least as often as he lines up as part of the line. This is all Beck means. Stop flipping out.
  4. If he comes, he will be up against a QB that has at least 1 yr starting experience (whoever that is) plus three other scholarship QB currently on the roster, and potentially Dillman coming at the same time (if he heals from injury). Confidence is great, but expecting to walk into the starting spot on day 1 without working for it is not realistic.I wouldn't take what GKF said as gospel because she heard him talk once and jumped to a huge conclusion about him, that could be the furthest thing from the truth. Let's not spread that around like we know that's the way he is.perfectly said. He looks exciting.
  5. I know you're joking, but if Bo thinks the media is bad in Lincoln I would love to see him try them on for size as a head coach in Columbus or the SecI dont think he thinks its bad here. I think he just deals with it like he does cuz its how he wants to handle it. Not to mention hes been pretty damn good with our media over the past few years aside from the iowa game blowout. This whole idea that he "hates" our media and is always bickering with them is such a crock of sh#t. If he had a championship of some sort hed get a complete free pass on this as saban does, whom happens to make bo look like a complete angel when it comes to dealing the media. And yes i was joking. Yet i can see such a thing happen in the future. Minus the whole middle finger thing of course. The media "thing" is not a crock. And to say he's a good guy with the media outside of the Iowa game is like saying OJ was a decent dude outside of the whole violent streak/stabbyThe media thing might not be a crock, but it is overblown, and Bo's way of handling the media is not comparable to an alleged murderer. Chill out, dude.
  6. I'm gonna go ahead and say that your change in expectation and your change in dealing with losses is a good thing. A grown man who lives with losses of a college football team for days, weeks, months, etc. is a bit overboard, IMO. I don't think expecting disappointment is necessarily great, but being able to be disappointed with a loss and not have it ruin your day/week/month/life? I'd call that OK.I hate to be the one to break the news to you, but The Yankees, The Red Sox, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Nebraska CornHuskers and any other team you can think of with an insanely devoted fan base was built upon these fans. I also hate to break it to ya, but 300+ consecutive sellouts don't just happen, so if you've been in that stadium in the last fifty years, I'll have to let you know that you were surrounded by exactly this type of people you so arrogantly speak of. Your opinion is yours, but if you don't think this is big business, built upon the devotion of insane, maniacal, fanatical people willing to fork over their hard earned bucks year after year, after year, after year, in hopes of witnessing their team beat the piss out of every opponent they play......well, then you don't get it bud. I know exactly what you mean, but that's not my point. I love being a fan of the Huskers. I love being part of a special fan base. But when the game is over, whether you're walking away from the stadium or your tv, I think it's OK - a good thing even - to not be all pissed off about it. I get disappointed too. But being pissed about losses isn't what sets fan bases apart from others, and it's not what built the program.

  8. Yeah, that last part of your statement, not so much. There are very few Bo supporters that don't wave the N flag.Oh. OK. Anyway, my point is that discussing the firing of a coach with a pretty good winning percentage and before the season is even close to starting is dumb.
  9. All this talk about Bo's job security, especially some people's insinuation that he will eventually be fired, is beyond worthless discussion. If you don't like Bo, fine. You're entitled to your opinion. But at least wait until the season starts before starting such talk. Or don't and keep looking like idiots arguing about firing a coach that the rest of college football thinks is doing a fine job.
  10. Didn't Bo put Zac Lee in against Texas in 2010 and Taylor and his father go ballistic? I'd say you're on point with Valentine being that guy. Gregory is likely gone after this year and VV is a good example of re-motivating himself with positive results. Did VV remotivate himself or did Bo do a good coaching job of motivating him? Obviously it's both, but if you want some credibility here, at least acknowledge that some are responding well to Bo's leadership.
  11. I think you're reading it wrong, knapp. If you would have bolded Kenny saying "the hard work doesn't stop," the perception if the quote would change.
  12. I know where you are coming from. But, Aug-Nov recruiting will become much easier and will almost take care of itself once we start winning and are consistently a top 10 team. For now we have to push to get the great recruits on the team late and worry more about coaching/teaching during the year so wins will come and recruiting will become easier. chicken or the egg?
  13. Bigger question, for him anyway: will Taylor be healthy/ready for NU pro day? And please don't argue about whether he's good enough or not, cuz that's not the question.
  14. Fans are divided against fans, but most rational fans will be the same fans regardless of who the coach is. Fans are divideded against Bo Pelini, but most rational fans believe he is working hard to improve the team. Basically, some fans are in turmoil, but the program is not. This board is in turmoil, but the board is not representative of the program.
  15. Quite from Sean McDonough: "Randy Gregory is a man!"
  16. I thought Nebraska's uniforms looked good: On a human note, UCLA got to win one for Pasquale: ...and your first half looked really good. All is not lost. good post. All is not lost. But most of it is.
  17. Can this be the official "fullback run-moar option-play defense like the peters-coach like Tom" thread? Get them all out of the way in one shot
  18. If players are requesting that fans wear black, then I don't see much reason to go against that request. I hope there's a lot of black on Saturday.
  19. Maybe you're seeing something I'm not...but it looked to me like he didin't drop the ball until he was 8 yards into the end zone. That should never be a problem. I don't like that he dropped the ball. I'm used to seeing our players hand it directly to the ref. dropping it could bite us in the ass. i think you're joking. You're joking, right? Right? I can't be the only one that watched the Denver/Baltimore game. Dropping the ball is a bad habit.i personally don't like it because it is unnecessary and can change a TD into a turnover. I can't believe you have such a problem with something that I mentioned bugs me. i think you're joking. You're joking, right? Right?

  21. You obviously didn't know that you could have scrolled to the bottom of the page and hit "Full Version" and could have seen all that. Damn, so your telling me I didn't have to hold the phone up to my face to see pictures lol. Can't zoom on the iPhone on mobile, huge pain in the ass. long press the photo and press open image. It's bigger and you can zoom.
  22. Word is Pelini thinks he is a douche. Probably cuz he never mentioned Nebraska.
