  1. No, Khiry Cooper would only count against football from my understanding.
  2. Keep in mind that giving a kid a scholarship for another sport so that it does not count against your scholarship limit for football is not possible. There was a quarterback for Nebraska a few years ago, (last name Goodman,) who was also on the wrestling team. When he saw action on the football field, that automatically converted him to a football scholarship, which counted against the 85 limit. You can usually get away with this mid season, as there are usually people who are kicked off the team or transfer, or are released from their scholarship for various reasons, but it would still prevent you from hording recruits the next year. Also, playing pro baseball would disqualify you from playing in any collegiate sports, as you would lose your amatuer status, so that rumor is a no go as well.
  3. I am no longer a student, but I think this is absolutely the most rediculus idea Tom Osborne has ever had. I agree that we should make accomadations for older patrons who cannot stand the entire game, but there are a ton of solutions that dont involve further marginalizing student participation. Alumni, including me, owe the University a debt, not the other way around. The University, and hence the football team that represents it, and happens to be comprised of students, does not exist for the alumni. Its exists for and because of the current students at the University. It is a huge reason that many people go to the University rather than to smaller private or other public schools, even though those schools may have better academic programs. Why not move them to the right of the band? or why not place some steps and guard rails up in south stadium to raise the level of the seats behind the student section? Both are very easy to do and would greatly help both the season ticket holders and the students. Think outside your once inch fing box once in a while Tom.
  4. Just curiously, isnt the quarterback we bring in from out of state who we deem to be the most talented one coming in always compared to Frazier? When we start calling a three star duel threat quarterback from New Jersey who actually started for us one of our worst busts, than maybe we have to look at the reality that maybe we were the ONLY ones who had those kind of expectations for Joe Dailey. For christ's sake he was all of 5'10'' 180 lbs if u ever actually saw the guy. Im pretty sure the Florida State's and Miami's of the world weren't going after this kid at the time.
  5. Lol, because scoring 21 points in a conference title game should be MORE than enough to win everytime right? Oh yeah, the defense scored 7 of those, so make that 14.
  6. Damn right Wally... I believe there is a real issue at hand when people from a previous generation completely disregard the attitude and opinions of the current one. In this generation, respect is not necessarily given lightly. It is earned. No one said that to TO's face in the seventy's because they were saying it behind his back. In that way, this is a much more honest generation. There is not a single thread in here that disrespects the life or career of Tom Osborne. That is simply the mindset of Americans today. Do I completely agree with it? No. I was always tought that respect was implied, not earned, but that does not change reality. Go to work son. It is the only way you will find acceptance.
  7. Shows the complete f'ing ingnorance of espn... Tommie Frazier was by FAR the best player since i have been alive, and that wonderful occurence happended in 84. He was the mvp of three national championship games, and was the subject of the biggest heismsn ripoff of the 20 century.
  8. I dont know about this... Im not sure if they know how to coach guys who dont have five stars pinned to their jerseys...
  9. Some people are into a holes... like cow doctors...
  10. Tough to be a great defense whey your dt's cant have more than 15% body fat and have to give up the next eight years of their life to attend your school.... Im just saying...
  11. I dont doubt BC's ability to coach an offense or develop quarterbacks. I doubt his ability to motivate and his over confidence in the abilities of people who he considers friends. I like the loyalty, but there has to be accountability at this level, and I dont feel he is holding coaches on his staff acountable for how they manage their players or a game, and that is the difference between a great coordinator and a lousy head coach. Im just not sure he is cut out for the head coaching job.
  12. Wayne Gretzky is a legend, how many stanley cups has he won coaching? Playing success does not necesarily lead to coaching success, though occasionally it does. I would like to see him actually coach in a game or two before we handed him a job at one of the biggest college football teams in the country.
