  1. You're getting too caught up in a few terms and overlooking that football is a giant strategic chess match, and there's a lot of back and forth, and each side has to counter the other. Also, to defend against our take what we can get offense, the defense just has to mix up looks to make us think we have an advantage somewhere but actually be assigned to stop the play. Obviously there are scheme advantages in running certain plays against other ones but seriously, zone read, zone read, dropped pass, zone read won't always work so SWITCH IT UP wats. Did you only watch last nights game or games last season with Zac, Cody, and games this season with all 3. When T-mart was healthy against SDSU. What about Cody Green impresses you that was implemented by Watson? Take an outsiders perspective and look in. Would you say our offensive play is good? It doesn't matter if we are scheming good, preparing good, whatever good. What matters is when were on the field, we better put up points good because thats all that matters at the end of the day. When that doesn't happen over, over, and over again, then what? Changes need to be made one way or another, we can't just keep doing what we are doing and it starts by realizing it first.
  2. Defenses always give you something. That's pretty much how you play the game, and it's how you play the game on defense too. You diagnose weaknesses and tendencies on offense, and exploit them. If you think the offense is going to do one thing, you design your stunts or blitzes or coverages to stop it. If you think the defense has a tendency to play a certain way, you exploit it. You're getting too caught up in a few terms and overlooking that football is a giant strategic chess match, and there's a lot of back and forth, and each side has to counter the other. Did you continue reading my post or did you stop there?
  3. Thats the problem with Shawn's offense. He always says we "take what you can get" on offense, take what the defense is giving us. Ok, so if the defense isn't giving us anything, we don't take anything. Also, to defend against our take what we can get offense, the defense just has to mix up looks to make us think we have an advantage somewhere but actually be assigned to stop the play. No wonder we just take 6 points against good defenses. Imagine if our defense wasn't this damn good, we'd be worse than Duke hands down. In addition, how can you say we are a PHYISICAL football team and then "take what we can get?" What a joke, to be physical, you bully people. To be physical, you dictate whatever you want to do. Do something so well that they can't stop us. Obviously there are scheme advantages in running certain plays against other ones but seriously, zone read, zone read, dropped pass, zone read won't always work so SWITCH IT UP wats. I agree with you that Wats has to go. Colorado can take him back to Boulder next week. Hes a good guy but think about it unemotionally from a 3rd party standpoint. He claims to be a QB coach, are you impressed? Is Cody Green not talented enough that two years in a system and he hasn't improved almost at all? Is it because the system they are in makes it hard for them to produce? Well, that goes back to the OC too. Either way, with what Watson does now, we will never win a national championship with him. Hate on but Wats is a mediocre coordinator and it is proven by the resources around him. If Chris Petersen can make a consistent offense out of nothing, we should not and can not settle for what Wats has done with what he has.
  4. Here are Suh's stats vs other top DTs ranked by order of Total Tackles. Name Team TT Sacks PD Int FR TDs Kyle Williams BUF 37 3 -- -- 1 0 Ahtyba Rubin CLE 33 0 3 1 -- -- Richard Seymour OAK 31 4.5 -- -- 1 0 Barry Cofield NYG 30 3 -- -- -- -- Tommy Kelly OAK 30 3.5 -- -- -- -- Kelly Gregg BAL 30 0 -- -- -- -- Colin Cole SEA 29 1 -- -- -- -- Sione Pouha NYJ 28 1 -- -- 2 0 Ndamukong Suh DET 27 6.5 2 1 1 1
  5. How sweet would it be for the Lions to pick up Prince? The secondary is definately a weak link and Prince would help shore that up, helping the Line and vice versa. Lions future looks bright, explosive RB, good QB, improving Defense. Asking for a Suh Lions Jersey as early Christmas present, like tomorrow.
  6. You could argue 3. Crick is good. Not Suh good, but there can only be one "best ever". Tho Crick has been steady, one thing to remember is he is a JUNIOR. I'm really not seeing a whole lot of differences in results on the field beween the Junior Suh and the current Crick, and this guy has to know it's in his best interest to stay for his final year. It is amazing how many people think Crick and Dennard will leave after this year. In this culture that Pelini installed, it's team first and get better everyday. They are going to stay and help the team and also better themselves because they know even though they are great already, theres always more to improve on. I definately agree with you that he stays.
  7. Yes, Suh has been through camp and what not but to be performing the way he is in the first games of his career against much more experienced linemen is out of this world. I think Suh could have played on Sundays last year after playing on Saturdays and still have done above average at season's end. Suh will always be our boy, reppin our program for years to come. Being from Nebraska, I've never had a favorite NFL team and never thought I'd like the Lions but Suh may have recruited me. SUHHHHH! Incase you havn't seen or don't know the actual numbers: 27 TOTAL TACKLES 6.5 SACKS 2 PASSES DEFENDED 1 INTERCEPTION 1 FUMBLE RECOVERY 1 TOUCHDOWN and he's getting better DAY BY DAY! This kid could be on the 2010 All-Pro team with a Pro Bowl selection as a rookie! He definately didn't deserve the heisman last year and Sam Bradford was a much better 1st pick. I mean gerald Mccoys got those same stats right?
  8. ITS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND! Any ideas where aaron green got that hat he was wearing when he commited? The red one with pinstripes. I've looked on lids, newera, google.
  9. Only on gameday can anyone validate and only with cash. Students can validate 1 week before the game and must have their NUID.
  10. On game day tickets can be validated with cash only beginning four (4) hours prior to kick-off at the Ticket Office outdoor windows facing east on Stadium Drive. A student football ticket can be validated by paying the difference between the student price and the public price. Public Texas tickets run $85 and students are all $21 so you would pay $64 to validate. On game day, anyone can validate a student ticket, with or without the student ticket owner present. I have and East Stadium Ticket for sale for $350. Let me know.
  11. link lol, "who is the 10th quarter back?" Thought some people might want to watch, it hasn't been posted anywhere I don't think
  12. You all make good points. The mistake is just more fuel for the fire to FINISH this year. If we execute, play at a level where we in fact are capable of, then finish...the light at the end of the tunnel might just be a football shaped crystal ball. We are good enough, we just need to be consistent. Thats how Tiger Woods was so good. He was consistently good round after round where as other players might have a better score in the opening round but shoot 3 over the next. Bo knows. See you all on Saturday!!! Gooooo Biiiiiig Reeeeeeeeeeed
  13. Forgot how Roy just ran wild in that game. That was when our O-line was fairly healthy. I can't believe people discredit him these days. Rex is good and I like him but Roy would be Heismen worthy with a full season healthy and healthy line. Our offense will surprise the sea of doubters and straight haters(Cough Mizzou). Also, I noticed Prince shows his speed running down and tackling one of the top running backs in the country, burning for over 1600 yrds last season, in Ryan Williams. Prince however, was the cornerback when Taylor threw the game winning TD in the final seconds. The only thing I remembered was the heartbreak at the end of this game, which is probably why I don't remember much of it.
