Apparently there's starting to be some real smoke around Hunter Sallis.

The only way is through a HUGE NIL deal.

I think its easy to mention hometown kids but did any of these guys truly root for Nebraska like Griesel did?

I have no sources, so just using my logic here but those who toss around Sallis, Traudt and Hepburn seem like more wishful thinking.

It's not helping NU's cause that they have 10 automatic qualifiers because they won the regular season, but lost in the conference tournament in one bid conferences.

I think they have a chance to be in the NCAA tournament by making the final if there aren't a bunch of other upsets.  If they beat Minnesota,  Maryland,  Indiana & Northwestern on the way to the championship game.  They would avoid a bad loss by beat Minnesota & the other 3 would be Q1 wins.  They would be 20-15 with 7 Q1 wins, no bad losses & 10-15 against quadrants 1& 2.

I think the hill might still be too hard to climb.

I honestly believe they should be considered more of a bubble team than Wisconsin.

If they get to the B1G champ game, I still dont know if it will be enough. I think it should be but the NET ratings and other analytics just dont like us.

I look at this as more of a stepping stone to next year. They seem to have found an identity(finally) and can build on that.

  3. I LOVE ME SOME TRANSFER PORTAL.

BJ Mack might be your Walker replacement. 6'8/245 pounds(Walker 6'9/245)

BJ averages more points but less rebounds and less assists.

Chris Ledlum might also be a guy they play in the Walker role. 6'6-225 but averaged 8.5 boards a game. Harvard was pretty bad this year and he seemed to be the only guy who did much on the stats sheet for them

I am intrigued to see how many spots we truly have open.

We know Griesel, Walker and Bandoumel are gone. Eli Rice will take one of those spots, so as of now two openings.

I do think Keisei will come back. Plenty of hype on Ramel Lloyd who redshirted.

Plenty of random rumors on some former Nebraska Highschool players who might look around(Sallis and Traudt-- I dont think these rumors come from any legit sources).

That all being said, I really liked the step the team took this year and I think Hoiberg knows the type of players he wants. We need a shooter. Replacing Griesel and Walker isnt easy but give me dudes who will play hard.

I saw somewhere yesterday Ohio State "rescinded" their offer.  It made me laugh

No. That was just speculation based on them not being on his "list of offers" post.

win 2/3 to finish the season and win 1 in the tourney and I think they deserve a strong look at NIT.

I do also have an honest question. Lets just say they win out in the regular season. finish 10-10 in BIG.

Would they have to win the BIG tourney to go dancing or can they get in with 2 wins in the tourney. I know if feels crazy, but am curious if there is a path?

    101 ... and counting!!!  :koolaid2:

At this point, I am just interested to see what the number gets to. I feel like we still have a few more. 105 feels obtainable.

Rhule and co are going to have to have some hard conversations with kids but I think that is just part of the deal. Some will naturally move on and some might be asked to move on.

Rhules interview on Bussin' made me a bit less worried because while they might move on some from kids, I do feel like they are going to handle it the best they can while still explaining that they need to put the best team on the field.

As a Husker Collective we wanted Frost.  I don't trust us anymore.

Trev can keep stuff quiet.  UNO FB and Wrestling didn't know they were done, until they were.

Wait... You are saying they are going to SHUT DOWN THE HUSKER FOOTBALL PROGRAM..... Makes sense.

    RIP HUSKER FOOTBALL

  8. His size wont help him but I think his speed is certainly attractive to a lot.

I thought this was a decent write up on him : https://www.profootballnetwork.com/trey-palmer-wr-nebraska-nfl-draft-scouting-report/

They say round 3/4. I think like others said it will be based on what else he puts on tape this year. If he thinks he is a 4/5 rounder, he might choose to stay one more year and work on a few things. Nothing says he couldnt easily get in the first 3 rounds with one more year of playing time as a #1 Wr

  9. Blast from the past.. I interned at Froggy about 12 years ago. Cant believe Gary is still there.

Broadcast house is a great place with awesome people. I can promise you they will take what you shared with them very seriously.

People make mistakes but when you are in front of a hot mic, you need to be better. My guess is she will get suspended for a few days.

  10. I mean, I would love to see us turn it around that fast but obviously very different situations.

I am not in favor of Urban because he just seems like a scummy guy, but that certainly would be a splash hire and he would give us INSTANT credibility. I wouldnt be shocked if the Boosters were more than willing to pony up the big bucks to make it happen.

I still think it is far more likely they go for the longer rebuild with a guy like Campbell.

I honestly have no idea what way they go. I doubt we can have the quick turnaround like USC just because USC had a ton of talent but with todays transfer portal.... Quick turnaround might not be that tough.

Feldman is pretty reliable. Shouldn't be breaking news that there's been discussion with any of these guys.

Pretty important to note that the headline is clear in stating that there are others on the list. I'd still say plus odds the next coach is one of these three.

I would be fairly surprised if its Leipold. I dont mind Bill O'Brien but think that still feels like a stretch.

Campbell strikes me as a guy who will turn it down.

At this point, I wouldnt be shocked at all if its someone we havent heard of yet. Season is young, no rush at this exact moment. Things will heat up in November.

I don’t get the obsession with Campbell. What has he done except a little better than the average at ISU? Seems along the lines of another Riley and a cheaper option than we can afford or deserve. If we get Campbell we’ll be paying another coach to not coach here in about 4 years.

From my understanding it is because of his ability to create a team culture, hard nosed and actually grow players. Most seem to think he can recruit better players here and therefore coach them up to be a step above what he has now.

I am cool with Campbell but dont think he is a slam dunk. I do like the idea of someone who can actually create a strong culture.

Anyone think Mathis is having some 2nd thoughts for not choosing Texas?  Or is the $$$ making up for that?

I dont have an issue with his quotes. Winning is a mentality. He isnt saying that they cant get out of it, but they need to flip the mindset.

Wins can come in bunches. I honestly have no beef with what he said. Seems like he is trying to be a part of the solution.

The gist of it is that Frost was late to practices all the time and wasn’t fully committed to what it took to win. Assistant coaches were complaining to Trev about it. (His words)

As I am listening to this, this is the first I am hearing of some of this.

Is this all known stuff that Frost wasnt committed?

    Anyone hear these stories?

You mean you don't want 2-3 new threads daily about the coaching change for the next 2.5 months?

2-3? I wish it was that light.

We are going to get a new thread anytime someone tweets out a new candidate... People feel the need to create a new thread to share their thoughts when we have 100 threads already going.

But I guess thats better than it being apathetic over here.
