As a "super senior", shouldn't he be one of the one's holding teammates accountable?

I think his point was it doesnt matter if the coaches dont have your back and wont hold players accountable.

If he gets on a guy like Bryce and then the coaches let bryce keep making the same mistakes, it just makes Webster look like his voice doesnt matter.

Should have included this, my bad. The last 8ish minutes is when he goes into the accountability stuff.

I havent been on the "Fire Hoiberg" tease yet but things like that make me think we need new coaches or figure something out with the guys in house.

Kobe was holding back but it sounds to me like we have a major culture problem. I respect Kobe and when he says things like this, I listen.

Slovis is as MEH as it gets. When SC switched to the air raid he was pretty successful but never impressive and he played with 4 pros at wide out.

I think most hope that he just had a bad OC. With Whipple, whoever we get will be someone who can be coached up.

Slovis has some strong skills. Just need it to come together.

  4. Curious why MN didnt offer. They have a tremendous eye for RB and the fact they didnt see him as a fit makes me go "hmm"

I also hope that puts a HUGE chip on EJ's shoulder. If he wants to bust off for 150+ against them, thats cool with me.

    Gophers might have been "full"

    Added 3 star from Texas

    Not sure

  5. Here are my thoughts:

Recruiting scandal most likely ends with Matt A being gone if it is "juicy enough".

The team biggest struggles are because the offense relies on the 3 and they cant make it. They miss it, have zero second chance opportunities and then struggle with transition defense.

This team will upset a few teams as soon as the 3's start to go in. That will allow them to set up defense on the other end.

They just need confidence. They also need a few bulldogs to start getting rebounds.

I personally am not a huge Verge fan because he has yet to turn that aggressive attacking style into a tool to get more assists, but honestly he is our only source of offense--so cant really tell him to stop.

I am not ready to call this season a wash. The team was sick against Michigan.

That all being said, they need to turn it on before its too late. 0-2 and things dont get easier with OSU/MSU as the next two B1G games.

Can't lie. I wish all the guys that have left NU success. It's not personal.  I'd have liked some of the guys to have waited until the staff was announced settled.  Maybe even talk to the new position to get a no BS assessment before you pop smoke.  Then again, get out while teams are still looking and before they sign recruits.  Again, it's a business.

Exactly. I have never understood the people that just want to wish these guys a crappy career.

Does it hurt to watch guys like Wandale have success, of course, but happy he found a place that made him better.

Sometimes these guys dont leave the right way, but rarely will I wish ill. Glad they are finding better for themselves.

Only at Nebraska do we run off our own 4 year starting QB- one of the best in the portal, only to immediately start a campaign to bench and criticize any potential replacement.

    According to what I read:

    - Martinez sucks, but he outplayed Heisman hopeful Rattler

    - Rattler has all the talent in the world, but also sucks because Martinez outplayed him and rumors he didn't like being benched

    - Brennan sucks because he couldn't even start at LSU and he's a one and done, why invest the resources to have him only one year

    - The Akron kid sucks because he played at Akron  and we play in the BIG

    - Smothers sucks because when he played against Iowa he looked just like and had the same outcome as Martinez

    - I've come to the conclusion that the only thing to make some of you happy would be for Frost to develop a new, cutting edge offense that eliminates the QB completely.

    - And then to fully satisfy some of you, Frost would then need to be fired anyway.

    FREAKING Ridiculous.

Its all message boards-- The sky is always falling.

I agree it is frustrating but remember most of us know nothing. We are just tired of losing.

Rumors of Beckton Leaving? I havent heard this...

Rumor was he might be getting a look from Miami-- It was a few days ago and havent heard much since-- Saw it on Huskers Reddit--so could be a lot of nothing.

Coach Beckton is following Rattler now on twitter. Wasn't yesterday. I could be reading into this a little much but if we were to get him the Kool Aid levels will be flowing at an all time high.

Unless the rumors of Beckton leaving are true, then who knows.

A bunch of people thought we were adding the Coastal Carolina OC because of who followed him on Twitter... It is an in-exact science.

Man ... and I was so excited for this season.

I didn't expect miracles.  But I definitely didn't expect ........... whatever this is.

ITs so frustrating that we switch coaches and we still see "hero" ball. Verge is the only thing we either have or are showing. How cant we have better movement without the ball?

Teams continue to just murder us from 3.

For how excited I was about our talent this year.. We arent seeing it.

I have a question for people who know more about coaching shooters.  It remains very frustrating that Nebraska continues to bring in guys that are supposed to be great shooters only to have them forget how to do it once here.

    So....why?

Here's a theory with absolutely no basis in scientific fact.  But, I know if guys aren't used to shooting in a large arena like PBA, they can have depth perception problems.  I've seen it in state basketball teams where they are used to playing in HS gyms and they get to Lincoln and their shooters can have a hard time adjusting.

So.....how much does our shooters actually practice in PBA?  If I remember right, their practice court is more like a HS gym.  So, if that's where they always practice, are our shooters having a hard time adjusting to the depth perception of a large arena?

Just trying to figure out this frustrating trend.

It would also be interesting to know if this phenomena started when they built the new practice facility and PBA instead of practicing and playing in Devaney.

Would be curious if other schools practice in big gyms or if the reason they seem to be shooting better is they get more shots up in warm ups to figure that out.

That all being said, my thought is it should be muscle memory. I honestly think it comes to the office and guys struggling to move without the ball. It feels stagnant and so guys are getting the ball when they are standing still or they are forcing the shots up. It never feels super fluid and most guys probably need a bit more of that.

I would love to see this team get better about making the extra pass.

If a guy like verge drives, my hope is his first pass ends up in the corner to someone like Bryce and then over to another guy which forces the defense to move and gets us better looks. So often it feels like teams dont have to chase our guys and it makes defense way easier.

We know the guys can shoot lights out in practice-- Have heard that about Kesei and Lat.

I'm going to guess it's going to be Willie korn. And I think he is going to bring Grayson McCall with him.

That would mean we got a nice thing and Husker fans arent allowed nice things.

My guess is we get a kick in the shins and a QB who is missing two fingers or something.

I highly doubt this would happen, but know Notre Dame is PJ Fleck's dream job..... I doubt his schtick flies there but....

If Brian Kelly actually goes to LSU.. the dominoes are going to start falling BIG TIME

Our Director of Recruiting has been following a bunch of punters and kickers on social media. Starting Kicker from San Jose St stood out. Might go for a LS, K and P.

Punters/Kickers have easily been one of the most frustrating fails this season.

I know Culp was good two years ago but was sort of obvious punters were garbage.

I hope we can add a some help

Yup anyone paying attention with any kind of rational thought coming into the season knew there was a real chance that we could be a vastly improved team this year and still end up with a worse record.

I am fine with losses against Oklahoma, Michigan State, Michigan.

Not fine with losses against Purdue, Illinois and Minnesota if you want to make the argument we are improving.

Sure it would be nice if we could have played Indiana, Rutgers and Maryland instead of Michigan, Ohio State and Michigan State.. but I honestly dont think we win more than a game against those 3 other teams based on how poorly coached we are.

I could handle a 6-6 year based on the schedule. At this point, we will be lucky to be 4-8. Can we stop with the conjecture we are improving.

Sorry- when the refs choose to throw flags has a huge impact on the game. We all know if refs wanted they could flag something on every play. Nebraska is flagged a certain times when it is very impactful, maybe not a full blown conspiracy, but the refs certainly do have bias. Just wait until we get the reffing crew led by the Ohio State employee this weekend.

Meh-- I think this is a bit overblown. My guess is we have a bit of a reputation deal so maybe you get some calls that dont go your way.

Not nearly as bas as it was with Bo but I dont think it is some big conspiracy.

We(myself included) just like to tell ourselves that  as an excuse to our team just not being very good.

  17. In most situations, I would want a Head coach who focuses on the whole team-- Get a strong O-coordinator and D-coordinator and help support them.

With that in mind, Frost has been awful with in game coaching decisions.. so not sure I really want him doing that.

Maybe if he brings in a QB who can hit a wide open WR-- Certainly a lot fo the struggles are on how bad Adrian has been but I still dont have faith on the system or decisions even with an above-average QB.

So no. I dont really care who Frost brings in at this point. I have seen enough to prefer we just move on all together and the next coach can find his QB in the transfer portal.
