  1. and 2007 was bad! ya know how you remember where you were when yada yada.... I was coming back from bow hunting listening to the KU game who had hung 83 on us in Lawrence.. they tore down the goal post like everyone else did that year. this is a new low as I never could have dreamed that 10 years later we wouldn't have solved this puzzle yet...meanwhile Penn state is ranked #6 with a complete top to bottom rebuild from a far worse fate than losing a great coach just a few years back...not to mention what TOSU, Michigan, MSU, Wisky have done in that time frame... but heh its just me, I'm sure there are far more logical conclusions to be had after this game, I'm just tired of the broken record...here;s to 9-4 err 6-6 or whatever...
  2. cutting to the chase.....its a broken record. we can analyze, hope, dream, talk, project whatever that a .500 lifetime coach is going to finish his last 2 years with giant recruiting classes and conference championships(notice i gave up on National championships). we know how this will end, we just don't want to admit it. I quit fighting it years ago. the next chance to fix this is in 2 years if it isn't forced before then.
  3. as I usually say, nothing is learned, but this is a new low in the post TO era for me...based upon tonights performance, we don't resemble a power 5 program let alone Nebraska anymore.
  4. #6 looks like a middle school kid and I think he just rattled off 7 yards per carry
  5. ASU smells blood, I guarantee you they think they can win this game...we paid them 1$.65M to come in here and hand us this....
  6. and its going to end at 355, ill bet riley wasn't expecting this type of game....
  7. did that guy say we are entertaining Ark state? that's an understatement
  8. or just kik the ball out of bounds, we don't want a return ...
  9. its a preseason game we are working the bugs out wait til we adjust at half
  10. Lee's mom is prolly mortified that her kid may not make it to mid season...
  11. yeah, that 3-4 had a bit different set of personnel.....Suh and Crik for starters..can't imagine how bad this is going to be this year
  12. Nebraska shouldn't need to adjust for Ark state. Its going to be a long year
  13. not to change the thread...but why is Oklahoma so competitive? oh yeah, they had a rough run in the 90s and decided pretty quickly that didn't feel good and so they went and FIXED it! and it didnt take 2 freakin decades...
  14. ^^What he said^^ hell, we are worried about going backwards next year....at this point I'm just hoping the joke is on us and the university has already had in mind that about the time MR's 4-5 years come up, the B1G money kicks in and they go put this together,,,....but I don't have a lot of faith in that...
  15. ill go ahead and book my tix now for the Rose Bowl next year...said nobody....
  16. Maybe, just maybe, Nebraska isn't as appealing to recruits as we all think it is or should be. We all love this program and would run through a brick wall for Nebraska if given the privilege of wearing the N helmet, because we are fans and understand what this program and team means to us. But really, in 2016, what does Nebraska have that appeals to these top end recruits? In the 90's when we were dominating, we had the advantage of having the best facilities, and the uniqueness of an offense. But here we are in 2016 where everyone has awesome facilities, and many unique and fun offenses are out there. I know it's been talked about that why would a top recruited athlete from Florida, Texas or California want to come to Nebraska when they get offers from the SEC, USC, etc. We also haven't won a lot of games to put us on the map of relevancy in awhile. 9-4 type seasons get lost in the landscape of college football. Maybe Nebraska needs to aim their focus on the type of kids with chips on their shoulders. Maybe they aren't the fastest kids, but have the heart and work ethic to go out there and prove everyone wrong. Wyoming seems to do this with recruiting Nebraska kids and always give us a tough game when they play us. Let's go into Ohio, and Michigan and get the kids Ohio State and Michigan overlooked and didn't want. Are they going to be the biggest guys? No, but at least they will show heart, which I feel has lacked in games like Iowa. Also players refusing to let Ohio State hang 62 on them. And even though Nebraska may not produce the most D-1 athletes, if there are any D-1 recruits in Nebraska, you shouldn't let them leave the state and they should play for Nebraska. I think in order for Nebraska to get back to the top, it has to be different, like it was in the 80's and 90's. It needs to have the nasty Offensive Line where they simply refuse to get pushed around and have the sense of pride that getting 3-4 yards a carry is showing their dominance over their opponent. It needs players who refuse to get beat, and if they do get beat once, they'll refuse to get beat twice. Players who understand things are earned and not given and putting endless hours in the weight room and film room to get bigger and smarter. Players who go to practice each day with the desire and hunger to get better. Players who push their teammates to the limits knowing it will benefit them and their teammate. Granted this post is extremely contradictory to what many, myself included, have said that Nebraska simply doesn't have the talent level of the Ohio States of the world. But I am not so certain teams like Wisconsin do either or had in the 2006-2013 years, yet they had what it took to beat those teams, win the conference, or at least hang with any respectable program in the country Nebraska is lacking one thing..coaches top lineman recruits want to play for....everything else is in place... just look at VB...you really think those kids don't want to be in sunny CA, FL AZ? they wanna win and learn from the best. those lineman will come here, give them the reason to... again, id start up front...Oz will be running 7 yards per carry
  17. with that line, id get 4.2 Yards per carry and I'm a 50 YO man. as far as paying ....I would become the laughing stock of the nation...I would want every big time program saying..."Nebraska paid what for that guy? and "coach, I couldn't say no...I have to go...." 3 years from now, when we are swimming in great line players, we will be the ones laughing all the way to the bank ...the increase in sales of everything pays for it...3 years, that's it. with the money we are going to be getting from the B1G starting next year..it would be my first move....
  18. you see any linemen that look like this around here recently?
