  1. Maybe if the coach called something more than 5-10 yards. It’s tough for either QB to be consistent in that passing range when the entire secondary is sitting in that area. Even if we don’t complete, we have to show that we are willing to try. I really do believe you’ll see him improve rapidly has he gets more game time.
  2. Have to remember, LM is still only in his 3rd year playing QB. It’s going to take some time, but he should improve pretty consistently. And to whoever said he can’t throw the ball 20 yards, get real. Right now, even being limited throwing, he brings more than AM just because he’s more decisive and runs more aggressively. And the play he made when he threw it left handed. That shows the pure athleticism he has. AM never makes a play like that.
  3. Yes it would, and admittedly it’s probably less than I think. We get skewed ideas seeing all the Clemson and Alabama players who are impact players right from day one. Like I said, I realize we don’t have those kind of kids, but I still would rather have a rawer, but talented player on the field. At least he has the ability to to make something happen based on that sheer talent.
  4. I truly believe the experience factor has become grossly overrated. Every top program in the country is playing true freshmen. I realize that there is a difference between those freshmen and ours, but kids are much more advanced now then they were back in our glory days. They come in ready to play. I don’t care if they don’t “know” the playbook, we only run a handful of plays anyway. If they’re more talented, get them on the field. We’re losing with the “experienced” guys now, we might has well lose with the talented ones.
  5. For us, but unfortunately I’m not so sure for our head coach.
  6. You’ve been asked previously. Do you know that for a fact or are you just speculating?
  7. Maybe, maybe not. It’s not a problem of the offense when the QB misses simple, basic throws. Or bails on a play too early and dumps to the checkdown.
  8. Did I specifically blame the players? I said we hadn’t had a DL put consistent pressure on the OL, which often results in holding when the grab when they’re beaten. Place the blame wherever you like, but there’s no need for an OL to grab, hold, or even tackle (like what we’ve already seen today) when they are not getting beaten.
  9. Way too much blaming of the officials. How long has it been since we’ve had a DL that has put enough stress on the OL to cause them to hold? The penalty issue is lack of discipline.
  10. Both the holding calls were flat out tackles. Of course they were called. You can’t blame the refs for those. And watch NW’s OL on pass plays, of course there is some holding (there always is), but’s it’s not so frigging blatant. the penalty issue is a far bigger coaching issue than it is an officiating issue.
  11. We should switch our OL to defense.....they know how to tackle.
  12. Refiners knows how to tackle, must have had a good high school coach, doubt he learned it from Chin.
  13. So glad someone posted this. Something good to watch Question, #25, John Vedral, is that Noah’s dad?
  14. Well, we know that they aren’t working. Apparently he doesn’t.
  15. Yeah, unfortunately that’s true. But I wonder if a “one read, then run” mentality would have brought back some of AM’s instinctual play, like last year.
  16. At this point, limited reads would probably have benefited AM just as much as McCaffrey.
  17. I think the swing passes would have a much better chance of success if we weren’t trying to block a DB with TE. Out in space, one on one, Stoll was seldom even getting a piece of the defender.
  18. McCaffrey split time at QB his junior year with the Senstrom kid who went to Stanford. I do agree he wasn’t ready to be the full time guy this year. But he did play QB a little more than just one season.
  19. Funny, against Colorado, did we suddenly get substantially less talented in the second half? Does our defense become less talented on the opponents last possession of the game? Does a lack of talent cause us to open the second half of a game with a timeout? Now, I’m by no means calling for drastic changes, or at this point, any changes in staff And I realize we lack top tier talent on the OL, and overall team depth wise. But to lay all the problems off on talent is showing blind faith a staff that at this point doesn’t deserve that faith. I hope they get to the point that they do.
  20. We get a lot of stats quoted. Both for AM and our offense. I wonder what percentage of those yards are between the 20’s. Because those numbers sure aren’t translating to ENOUGH points, especially 2nd half points. When your philosophy is to outscore the other team, you’d better turn those yards into points. Consistently! Just another example of how misleading stats can be. Especially when they’re put out without any context and just used as a blanket supporting number.
  21. I missed it too. But I am sensing a recurring theme about it.
