  1. "Yes and also in an amazing set of events Josh Freeman blew his nose and wiped his butt.after crapping." WOW! That must be a new thing QB's do.
  2. I wouldn't be surprised if this question isnt brought up amongst the powers that be if Nebraska wins it all this year. As for consistency, IMO (biased) going to the CWS 3 out of 5 years is pretty consistent. This is the beginning of the snowball effect heh.
  3. i was at the first game, but during the second game in the 9th there was a truck that was parked on the overpass and the commentators got a kick out of it.
  4. unfortunately i agree with you on the aspect that yes some of these highly praised recruits might not pan out as advertised. thats the risk you take. its like if you ran a company and hired someone with a great resume' and they turn around and embezzle money from you. so what do you do? get somebody else with a good resume to take his place and take the risk again and hope he doesnt rob you. yes it is water under the bridge so quit tryin to hold on to those days, they are long and gone, think about the future instead of grovelling over the past. in regards to your fanaticism over Doc osborne, solich, and their respective staffs and your overall negativity towards the future outlook of our football program, cheer up and move on please. From the looks of things as they are now the new staff, which may i remind that you so blatantly disregard and deem incompetent, are looking to receive top recruiting honors many times during their tenure here at Nebraska.
  5. so coach callahan has received a verbal commitment from QB Josh Freeman from Missouri and WR Menelik Holt from California. Now that we have recruited a six foot six inch tall beast who rivals.com and some other schools think should be a TE, what do you think will happen with Cate? Will he still be a target for QB? Anybody know if Nebraska is still in his list of schools?
  6. i like the fact that we have scheduled USC in '06 and '07 even though it could mean a certain ass whipping. i dont really care, playing these top tier schools shows guts and i think that that is a characteristic of husker football. i guess i like the fresno state attitude, they will play anyone anytime anywhere. unfortunately the downside to this is that playing this schools and possibly losing could destroy the confidence of a team for a couple weeks or even perhaps bring down an entire season. thats kind of the way i viewed the southern miss game last year even though southern miss isnt a texas, OU or USC but southern miss is still a great school nonetheless. you just never know 100 percent how a team is going to react to a win/loss.
  7. heh hell freezes over when nebraska gets good press yay so he's newcomer of the year, lets not get ahead of ourselves. We still havent seen him under fire in the conference games. while i do acknowledge that it is exciting and only adds more energy, i just like to keep things in check. doesnt change the fact that i am TOO anxious for fall to come, almost there boys its june already then hopefully we will be seeing a more polished west coast attack and improved chemistry not only amongst the players but between the players and the coaches as well. a positive thing about hitting rock bottom is that there is nowhere else to go but up i guess
  8. and the players and the coaches and whoever else is out on the field is supposed to know exactly who we are boing, gotcha. its all open to interpretation
  9. any news on how his leg is? is he going to be able to play next year?
  10. to be honest Rozier was way before my time. so i guess i was biased on my pick (ahman green) based on who i witnessed, not to take anything away from Rozier or anything, just a personal opinion.
  11. i find all those stats impressive, but if i remember correctly isnt the big house the largest college stadium? doesnt it seat over one hundred thousand people? id be pretty intimidated to play there, and the collesium in LA too, that place looks pretty big. the horseshoe at ohio state, the swamp looks frickin huge too, isnt memorial stadium's max attendance like 78k? its been so long i have forgotten. what about all those additions, prolly pushed it over 80k but i just dont know, some correct information would be nice on this matter, off topic: what sport has the largest playing surface? polo. 300 yards by 160 yards by 200 yards if unboarded. now you can impress your coworkers with a wee bit of sports trivia
  12. i've been reflecting on the posts everybody has made in regards to zac taylor's spring game performance. i think the key to the success of the husker offense next year is the big guys up front. some have argued that taylor does go through his progressions and his reads and some have argued otherwise. i wouldnt know because i wasnt there but regardless any QB still will need time and good protection to be able to get the ball to the open receiver, or pure playmaking ability like the daunte culpepper's and brett farve's out there. not only do the offensive linemen need to be able to drop back and form a pocket, but they need to be able to overpower the defensive line for the running plays. we all know the debacle of last year and so with that being said, what about the o-line for 2005? any info? predictions? im generally optimistic and i hope that the linemen continue to learn and execute against tough teams like the oklahoma's and the texas' programs out there.
  13. well they are a recruiting monster compared to husker recruiting of recent years, but according to rivals100.com texas had the number 1 class in 2002, #15 in 2003, #10 in 2004, and its 2005 class was ranked 20th, so its kind of bumpy. while oklahahoma was 7th, 4th, 8th, and 3rd through 2002-2005, we were nowhere near these recruiting classes. but texas a&m has also been in the top 15 recruiting classes in that same time period. yes we had a great recruiting class this year but this is just one class. Some people i've talked to think this year we will be contenders for the NC, but we are a couple of years away from that i think. if we have a solid class next year thats more building blocks. no place else to go but up.
  14. "We get back to winning and we will be on TV more. I saw most of the games last year it seems. I live in SoCal, of course I had to pay for them, but it is worth it to me to see any game I can. It is not the all the fault of the Athletic Department. Sometimes you just can not get the deal worked out. Sometimes people back out at the last moment. You look for something to fill the void. I would prefer a better game no question. But we need to understand that games are not always under our control. I am very proud of the University to have scheduled USC. This is a major battle that will reap big dividends next year if we win or even play close. We can complain about the schedule this year, but next year we will have one of the toughest in the country if not the toughest. Texas, Texas A&M, USC, Kstate should be back, if Oklahoma wins the south and we win the north, that is four teams that could be ranked in the top 5 when we play them. You will get your share of tough games next year. Eat a cup cake and shut up!!!! Just kidding." oh hell yeah. if the 2005 recruits mesh well and some playmakers emerge this year and if we get a solid recruiting class similar to '05 in '06 we should be in pretty good shape to make it a great football game. im a hopeless optimist when it comes to my favorite team hehe. plus we play texas at home that year as well. Texas, not being the recruiting monster it was in recent years, still pulls in good recruiting classes. thats one game im gonna try to make it to

  16. in the link to the article eric posted bowman says he wants to be a leader to the underclassmen. lets hope by saying that he meant that he wont be a one and done player. he looks solid in those free videos, pretty exciting hitting ability.
  17. i think everybody is getting ahead of themselves. like someone said earlier we havent even seen him take a snap yet. but since the spring game we have seen taylor step up and do a pretty good job with his timing and accuracy, which is exactly what WCO is, timing and accuracy. im pretty sold on taylor's abilities so far because he has more experience in the collegiate ranks. im thinkin if beck is as great a player as he is hyped up to be he will be starting soon enough, maybe even his sophomore season. he surely wont redshirt, thats for sure
  18. i hastenly picked ahman because he was great to watch despite his fumbles, plus he is from nebraska so im biased as i am from nebraska. but as i thought about it i realized i should have picked porkchop because he is a beast. like some previous posters pointed out, ross is the boss and he carried the team last year. what a competitor, playing through injuries and still rushing for 1000+ yards. he's very tough and i hope his senior year at Nebraska will be much more successful than last year. at least ross' running game was one of the only things i would consider successful about last season. i will definately be sporting a number 4 red jersey this fall at the home games. go huskers
