  1. Wish we could have seen Abdullah carry it for that first down. Now we might not see him carry again as a Husker.
  2. No...but those teams also don't win crap. Hmmm MN and NW beat us with regularity.
  3. Coach Riley reminds me of Mr. Rogers. I feel like I know him already.

  4. this is a completely different thread on its own complete with gifs and all. Start it!Haha great idea. Done!
  5. Great insight! Thanks for sharing! I think many of us were completely taken off guard by this choice - especially given the secrecy surrounding the hire. That said, I'm hearing more and more I like. I'd classify myself as a reserved optimistic.
  6. Wonder what Pelini's first thought was when we announced Riley.
  7. I don't know what to think at this point. Was this really the plan all along, do you think? Or was this the result of an unprepared scramble? I really want to believe in this guy... but there's nothing really strong to go off of. His record is spotty, some good and some bad. Sounds like there are some upsets and some NFL greats in his background. But for a coach his age I guess I would have imagined someone a bit more.... accomplished. Seems a little late to be reaching a peak. And I highly doubt Frost is this miracle who is waiting in the wings.
  8. Interesting question, just another aspect that will be intriguing to see how it works out. I'm inclined to think Armstrong will stay at QB unless the new guy can wrangle another qb to fit their style p.d.q Callahan went with Dailey in his first year as coach. Can we please keep this thread aimed at information and false information regarding Jim Tressel and/or Scott Frost!? I am already wasting so much time in here, I can't be distracted by these other thoughts (unless they are hilarious .gifs)
  9. That all-knowing smile. How could we not believe this totally legitimate source who has no underlying motives whatsoever such as publicity or the fact that he has been predicting this since Nov. 30...
  10. hahahaha I love it. I knew once I read this that everyone else would think it's some cryptic message to Husker Nation. The timing of this quote is just uncanny.... Notice he didn't hashtag #quiettime either, like he did on prior quote tweets. It's because his life is about to be the opposite of quiet (he's going to be brining the noise! ... is that still a cool thing to say?)
  11. I root for the Big Red, not the coach. But Tressel would be fun. If only because no one seems to believe it at all...

  12. Do we really think how the players were informed really impacted their reaction to that degree? I think the heated tweets had more to do with the atmosphere in the locker room than the dissemination of the message. Us v. Them. Very cool to see how classy the Michigan tweets were - not derisive. Props to them.
  13. Anyone who understands the dynamics of coaching searches and hires, especially ones as hush hush as this one has been, knows that the twitter pics of Tress and this tweet are much more good news than bad for Nebraska. Drip drip goes the gas tank. explain? Well for one. Evidence. Nick Saban and Urban Meyer both DENIED publicly any contact whatsoever LESS than 24 hours before being announced as coaches of where they are now. Things like this stay silent. Like was said in another thread, was the agent supposed to say there was contact if there was? No. The answer regardless of truth is exactly what he said. It's just on a deal like this that is so hush hush, new like this doesnt denounce anything. If anything at all, it adds fuel to the speculation. And we have yet to see a comment from Jim Tressel himself. Look, I'm not sayin it means he's "N". I'm just sayin, that when you watch the dynamics of coaching searches and hires in this crazy ass media drivin society, things like this mean absolutely nothing. I want to believe this so bad. But I did think the rep's words were interesting in that he added that Tressel "honors" commitments and just committed three more years to his current employer. Why add that in for him to only contradict himself, especially on such a character comment.
  14. I trust the Sock. But shouldn't this deal already have been made at this point?
  15. Yeah, cause SE went down there and leaked that to them. B.S. SE isn't letting anyone know anything hence the lack of leaks and credible information. He isn't going to say anything until he's standing in front of the mics and that's probably only shortly after he speaks with the Regents so that they know a minute before the world knows.I agree I think he's just mocking the fan base because of all these Tressel/Frost rumors Why mock us!? The court of public opinion has spoken!
  16. Could it really be Tressel? It seems that this move was planned carefully and after a lot of deliberation, possibly starting the moment after Bo uttered, "If they want to fire me, go ahead" a whole year ago. This would give SE plenty of time to reach out to a splash candidate like the Vest and secure something big. I'm holding out hope for a fashion statement.
  17. Oh Great Sockly One, I hope your prophesies are VESTED in truth. I fear that should Dustin Fox be right, and your Sockliness wrong, many people will be deVESTated, including myself. As a side note, I am surprised this was not all hammered down prior to diVESTing ourselves of Pelini and Co.
  18. One thing I think we ought to consider is whether some of the subs had the benefit of working against a winded defensive line. Fresher legs and all that. Not saying a change isn't needed, but something that would certainly affect the seeming obviousness that we aren't starting our best players.
