I was at breakfast today with my mom and her husband, and they were talking about Bill O'Reilly being "targeted" by "liberal" groups. I rolled my eyes.
1. I quickly pointed out that Fox News had paid out nearly 15 million to multiple women to settle harassment claims.
2. Fox News wouldn't have paid out the money if there wasn't any truth to the accusations.
3. Bill O'Reilly should have just hired hookers.
That pretty much shut the entire "Bill O'Reilly is a victim of liberal activists" conversation down. LOL.
Usually don't get involved in political conversations but these thoughts need addressing. First, don't care about Bill O'really, O'Reilly. Now about the $15 million paid out to several women.Companies pay this out to make it go away true or not. They don't want the hassle. Now I will give you a personal experience. I had an employee tell me she was going on vacation, I casually asked where and if she was going with someone, she has grandkids. This woman flipped out, wrote a letter to my boss stating I wanted to sleep with her and I had harassed her. I was called in to explain myself and had it not been for the fact that this conversion took place with her sister present, my company would have been sued. I would have lost my job, put in a position to explain to my wife and family why I got fired and prospective employers. Was not fun. I realize not all claims are like this but it happens far too often. Duke La Cross ring any bells? The news is full of false harassment claims. And it snowballs. Once someone finds out that a company "just paid them to go away" suddenly there's a line. Not trying to be cynical, just wanted to vent. Oh and, I never watched the Factor.
