  1. since he has averaged 5 losses a year, callahan hasn't turned anything around yet. I guess you're perception of turning things around and the program picking up momentum don't match. The Big 12 isn't quite as inept as the Big 8 was back then, either, so whats the point. Osborne had teams that would go 9-3, lose to OU, the good team they played in nonconference and then the bowl game. After he beat OU in 78, things turned around for him. Similar to what I am suggesting. Once Callahan gets that first big win, it will come easier after that. If it doesn't happen in the next season, then perhaps it might not, who knows. i'm not saying that he a good coach or a bad coach but with the exception of nebraska fans and callahan's "old friends" the national perception of him is that he lacks coaching ability. people look at how he took the raiders from a superbowl to the worst team in the league, they look at how we have struggled since he has been here, and they question his calls in games like ou, usc, and auburn.
  2. i'm sorry i quoted the wrong writer. since he has averaged 5 losses a year, callahan hasn't turned anything around yet. osborne never lost 4,5, or 6 games in a season and gave up wins like callahan did to usc and ou. by returning the majority of a 10 win team in 2004, we were not "in shambles" like cu is.
  3. as mentioned on unsportsmanlike conduct, our own bill callahan is on his list of the top 10 worst coaches. one guy's opinion.
  4. the best player in our defensive backfield has 2 bad knees and 1 career int. not really awe-inspiring.
  5. a good chef can take what he has and make a tasty meal. a bad chef can make the best filet taste like your boot.
  6. by the way our coaches recruit it doesn't seem like our current staff does either.
  7. the defensive coaches list is interesting. old what's his name at #3, and it looks like wisconsin isn't unhappy with us getting coz.
  8. Wow, a former player with significant clout supports Callahan and cites the good treatment he has had from him. Unbelievable. of course the treat johnny good, he raises tons of money for the athletic department, and he has nothing better to do.
  9. that's ignorant. without the past there would be no present. should we just forget about george washington, abe lincoln, and martin luther king jr. because they are "in the past?"
  10. i agree. if we lose lucky maybe they will move one of the 37 scholarship wide receivers to tailback.
  11. i can't believe some of you actually thought that this would be a contest. joey may start......if sam breaks a leg.
  12. i'm not sure where you got most of your post but i know that i'm as much of a husker fan as any normal native nebraskan. seriously, being as fascinated with these 16-24 year old boys as a lot of you are is ice cream man/priest creepy. put away the dungeons and dragons and get a life.
  13. You got that on tape I bet, huh? nope. don't need to. if you don't believe me, call the show yourself and ask them. or shoot them an email. but you wouldn't want to do that cause it's true and you don't want your bubble to burst. reality sucks sometimes. join us there.
  14. stoops has won the big one and he owns callahan. he has a ring and multiple big 12 titles. callahan can't hold his lunchbox.
