  2. unfortunately probably never makes it to campus. a year is a long time twiddling thumbs.
  3. 1822 on Rivals, just behind Clemson @ 21 EDIT: 1828 now, just ahead of Clemson @ 20
  4. Diaco has to be thrilled about the players in the front 7 who have already signed. This would be an exclamation point on a very underrated group from top to bottom for dline and backers. Lots of pieces that are pretty flexible about what they can do. The more I look at them all, the more excited I get. Finish off a great front 7 big guy! yeah, i like the idea of some of these guys like guy thomas that normally we'd be trying to bulk up north of 235ish now being able to play OLB at a cut 220 or so. Be nice to see a quicker front 7
  5. 1 for 2. If we can go 50% on that list, I'd be a happy Husker fan. Damion is a must for me though. Need that NT.
  6. u should trade the van and pickup in for something more reliable...
  7. Does it really matter? So one burns a year of eligibility taking 15 late-game snaps. All I know is the more players of these two's caliber on the roster - the better off Nebraska is. It matters to the kid more because some don't want to RS. If you're up front with them and they understand then no big deal. But if the kid doesn't want to RS then don't waste your time because that just leads to transfers and late decommits. exactly - so don't ask him to redshirt if he doesn't want to. no redshirt != guarenteed playing time. if he doesn't play, that's on him. but both have the potential - and you're recruiting the potential. the more of it the better.

  9. Take the talent. We don't have the luxury of picking and choosing here. Stockpile the best players when you can if your NE - next year we might be struggling to find WR's.
  10. ^ this It's easier to recruit and develop to an identity versus continually trying to be "multiple"
  11. It's not like they are recruiting tons of blue chip linemen, it's just that they develop them better than we do. If only we could hire one of their line coaches away from them - that would really change our line play I bet. ....oh wait, we tried that.
  12. What are the similarities between the new formula and the old formula? One major similarity- only the top 20 commitments in each class are considered in the main variable of the formula. Both have bonuses for players ranked nationally, but the new formula accounts for the Rivals250. The old formula had bonuses for the Rivals100. Guess we're both wrong. I thought they'd expanded it beyond the top 20. The main difference now is that they used to use ALL 32 for the average ranking (which brought you down when you had larger classes)...now it's just down to the top 20. Before it was top 20 for most of the other stuff, but it was expanded to the entire class when looking at the average component to the calc. I built the whole calc out a long time ago so remember it using the entire class for some components but only top 20 for others.
  13. "Mainly" on the back of signing 32? If you want to compare apples-apples - take the top 20 of that class. They had an average star rating of 3.75. You don't think that two 5* recruits, eleven 4* recruits, and seven 3* guys would rank higher than our current class? To me that looks a hell of lot like current LSU's #7 class - even a better by a couple 4* guys. Still all about size? ...back then the rankings were primarily only determined by the top 20 - with the average star rating of the last 12(ish) actually bringing the overall ranking down....
  14. "It came down to Ohio State and Nebraska," Lindsey said. "I liked Nebraska a lot and love Coach (Keith) Williams, the WR coach. He put in a lot of effort to recruit me and I'm very thankful to him for that. It was close but honestly, it was going to take a miracle to pull me away from Ohio State and the family support I had there. http://www.scout.com/college/football/recruiting/story/1698334-tyjon-lindsey-is-headed-to-columbus Sounds like a legit 2...
  15. Not sure how you can consider NU being a legit #2 when we weren't even shown as a finalist in his selection video. Time to move on. because it came from his mouth in an interview post-announcement?
  16. I'm leaning towards him drinking till midnight - having a few glasses of water over the last couple hours and thinking he was fine...just completely underestimating his BAC. NO ONE is dumb enough to call the cops for a simple bump if they thought they were above the legal limit. They were called because of his decision. Seems odd - doesn't seem like a case where a guy went out, got drunk, chugged his final beer on his way out of the bar then got behind the wheel. The uber driver called the police. And either Williams is an idiot or he was intoxicated because nothing else explains confusing your health insurance with your car insurance. Ahhh - I'm following now....
