In some ways I never should have left, and in other ways I never should have come back. While I was at home the Huskers lost and now that I am back the season is over. GBR Wow, don't know how to respond to that...Man oh man...are you back in Iraq? I assume yes? if so, sorry, that sucks for you and your family. and only 18 more days until signing day if that helps...

not fair to Nicole, She is young so we have to cut her some slack... Icy roads suck...big!! AND you really don't want to be grouping all us women together...promise. As all you men know, some of us women are good at one thing and some of us are good at another . ..but there are a very few of us, (me included) that can do it all, at the same time, while driving down the road at 65 MPH... You know, I go back and forth on this issue. On one hand these kids are getting a full ride, tutors, training table, trainers, great coaches, building life long friendships etc. I understand that the colleges are making a ton of money, obscene amounts in some cases, however, that fact remains that because they are atheletes, they are eceiving 'free' education. That in itself is potentially worth hundreds of thousands or even millions depending upon the kid and the degree. I don't know what the answer is. I'm torn on the issue personally. I wish my daughter was an 'athlete'. My checkbook and savings would look a whole lot better than they do. Which is why I have a hard time felling bad for these athletes. So like I said I'm torn... AND don't the get a stipend as part of the scholarship deal?

You must not get out much. Every local talk show except for the one that Peterson runs rips this coaching staff. Tom Shatel has a new Q&A column in the World Herald and every one of the comments in it were critical of this staff. Many former players are critical of them (Benning, Zatechka, Frost, Frazier, Alberts) to name a few). Personally I have not heard many positives about this staff except that they supposedly know the West Coast Offense and that they are good salesmen. For what its worth, the only place that I have seen support for this staff is on internet message boards. Meyer wins a national championship in year two. Stoops wins one in year two. Carroll built the best program in less than 3 years. Ron Prince took a horrible team with a true freshman qb to a bowl game in his first year. The guy that Callahan replaced took a team that had only won 6 games combined in the 4 years prior to him getting there to a bowl game in his second season and had the same record a Callahan. The excuses are getting old, patience is wearing thin in Husker Nation. BLAH...BLAH...BLAH...JEEZ..stop already. Meyer wins a MNC in years 2 at FLORDIA.. whine... Stoops wins one in year 2...POOR ME, oh I mean us... Huskers...(Sarcasm..) God I'm so done with the whiners and complainers...follow Frank then...PLEASE!!! You have obviously have/had no idea where the program was going with Frank at the helm, poor you, and I mean it, poor you. ...nothing Coach Callahan does will please you, ever. God, just please. do us all a favor and just go and 'cheer' for Frank or whomever will make you happy. It will be MY HUSKERS!!! I guarantee it!!! Go Big Red!!! P.S. Coach Callahan is not going anywhere...any time soon.... i promise!

even though I didn't go college, I agree... My sister went to Kearney and at that time, quarters ruled .. OK off topic... I do have to say that I am sooo done shoveling snow...it could snow in just the high country and I would be good with that... for those of you thinking about building a house, think very carefully about which side the garage faces and the size of said garage. I have a 3 car garage and it faces the north. Don't do it...shoveling/snow blowing sucks...I promise!!!

Congrats! Girls rock! My only child is a girl and she turned out pretty cool. Be happy as I'm positive you are. She will still be a Husker and think of all the qualtity time you can spend teaching her the ropes. Again congrats. Your and your wife are very lucky. 2007 will be a good year for you and you family. Oh my god...what a bunch of self entitled, poor me fans some of you all are...I want what I want and I want it now!!! (stomps foot!) . You do realize we, meaning our Huskers, have not even PLAYED on New Years Day for a very long time, you understand that don't you??? Just the fact that we did play on Jan 1 instead of 12/28 or what have you indicates progress to me. The recruiting is looking awesome as well. Jeez, take a breath and chill.... I love my Huskers just as passionately as you all, by man-o-man let's get this thing in perspective. There are way more things going on in this world and our country than college football. And besides, I for one, don't want to listen/read all this negative crap for the rest of the off season. Not healthy I tell you! And yes, I am a sunshine pumper and a believer...as if you didn't know.
