If UCF doesn't make it into the playoffs again, somebody needs to file a law suit or something. What's the point of a playoff if you do everything asked of you under two staffs and get snubbed twice in a row.

Been contemplating buying a camera for awhile. Any recoomendations for a first time buy. I want something capable, but not for the crazy prices I've seen. Something that could handle night photography too.
I've always wanted to get into photography, I used to be a good artist in high school and can still draw a bit. I'm going to Europe for the first time in a few months and thought it would be good to have a camera there.

Where are all the threads analyzing POB's performance Saturday, and why he should be starting this week? Dude was 67% last week with no picks!

I finally had a chance to watch the whole game. The hot takes on Frost's play calling are hot s#!t. There are a few plays here and there that he'd want back, but it was pretty solid.
The swings were needed and helped open up the inside runs that popped. Just like all the sweeps we ran.

It's 2nd and 20. They weren't showing any sign of a blitz and there is a single LB in the box with a single high safety in-between the hashes. It's about as good a play call as you want...The RG whiffs on his block so the DT is plugging Adrian's running lane. The pulling LT can no longer pick up the Mike because he's moved past the B gap with Adrain as he bounces outside and the play is dead.
If our guard actually makes his block the pulling tackle picks up the Mike, and the OLB is late to fill because of the PA. Adrian is one on one with the safety for a solid gain.
It's a good play call that was set up all game long. We just broke down at a key position.
-
2nd and 20 and our go to play call is a pass that requires 5 yards just to get to the LOS. You can break it down all you want. It didn't work, nor has it in any clutch situation this season. Hence losses to teams we should have beaten. But yes, in theory it's an awesome play if you have the personnel to run it.
So again, coach the team you have. Not the one you hope to have in 2yrs.
-
Uh, no. It's one in a series of plays that gives the defense a single look with 3 possible out comes that they've seen during the game/season: the swing, a deep pass, or the QB run. It didn't work, but it's a pretty basic play that we have the personnel to run. If we can't execute a basic block then we can't run any play.
It's the theme of this entire season in one play. Inconsistency.

My favorite thing in the world is having a strained lower back. Abso-fricken-lutely love it!

The President of the United States is back pedaling on campaign promises left and right, cant even push through he foudational promises, and his daughter gets trade mark deals in china after dining with chinese PM, but what we truely need to vent about is a picture of him with some football players.

I just find it funny how some people act as though this is a first for a president. I agree that he hasnt done very well, but its not the first time for a president. Honestly it doesnt seem to matter who the president is anymore, or who is in Congress, its the fact our political system is so f'd up its making Communism look good.

He ran almost soley on doing everything in the first 100 day. He has less than 10 days left and he's barely done anything. He's either was either extremely ignorant or a liar to say he could get things done that quickly. Most of us knew that. You want to blame someone for this mess? Blame the voter who keeps electing do nothing representatives who only have corporate interest in mind. The problem is uneducated voters who put these people in power, not the system.

I haven't seen anyone mention Ameer's stink in the booth for BTN. Dude could have a commentating career after his playing days are over. Very well spoken, very intelligent, and knows the game.

Anyone use foam rollers? Any recommendations?

On the painting topic, I recommend getting an 18 inch wide roller with a 1.5 inch wool nap. It will make painting about as easy as you can make it without using a sprayer! Sprayers are also great, but a big investment usually.
On the massaging topic, I love foam rolling! When I don't do it for a while my legs and hips get so tight. I usually look up videos online for pointers.

I'm going on a ski trip over the break and I've never been skiing or snowboarding. Any recommendations from some of the more alpine members as far as goggles, helmets, gloves? Obviously I don't want to drop a lot of money on first time equipment as I probably won't be going regularly. Should I rent a helmet/goggles or buy my own?

Lessons? Are you at all athletic? Like...can you ice skate? Can you walk and chew gum? Can you dunk? Okay...nevermind...take the lessons. Everyone told me it was just like ice skating...I have played hockey since I was 13...guess what...it is nothing like ice skating. Watch the movie Frozen (not the kids one, the other one) good luck!
-
Yep, take a lesson your first day. Unless you have experience with skateboarding, surfing, wake boarding, etc, you will probably pick up skiing much faster. Keep your ski length short. Shorter skis are easier for newbies to pivot/turn. Don't go down black slopes. Probably avoid blues. Snow pants are a must. Bring a flask of whiskey and share it on the chair lift. Wear comfy ankle or knee length socks. Helmet is probably not needed (you should't be getting anywhere near a tree on your first few days.) Goggles are better than glasses if the snow is falling or blowing. Otherwise, sunglasses are better. If it's reaaaally cold, wear a neck gaiter. Drink Rumplemintz and hot chocolate at the end of the day, followed by venison & buffalo chili.
-
Meh, you could probly skip lessons. Lessons spend a couple hours teaching you to snowplow, when you could figure that out yourself in about ten minutes. Just stick to the easiest bunny slopes and practice going from snowplowing to skiing with your skis parallel. And learn how to fall down without breaking anything. Maybe just watch a few youtube lessons ahead of time. /jmho

So I guess I'm a big boy now. I followed a dream, and after a lot of sacrifice and money spent I accepted an engineering position working for one of The Big Three. Never give up on yourself even when those around you do. If you don't follow your dream who will?

Alright Huskerboard, I need to show these Michiganders what's what. I need a picture, newsprint, or something to let these yayhoos know who the true champions were in 97. And who dominated the 90s.

Ripping up tile floors sucks! 2 and a half hours and I'm barely done on a small bathroom.
The jabronies used a morter bed with metal mesh in 2003. I would have thought cement board would have been a way better option back then.

@teachercd I'm ponying up the cash for Trex decking because I don't want to have to do maintenance on this thing again. And since the railing needs to be replaced, I figure I might as well do it right and not have to redo any of it.
-
@ZRod I had heard that too. I ordered some samples to find the color we liked, so I took the sample pieces out onto the deck and left them in the sun for several hours. Then I measured the temps, and surprisingly the dark-colored composite material was about 10 deg cooler than the old wood deck and the light composite was a few deg cooler than the darker material.

Anybody got a bright idea on how to remove a toilet flange over a 3in ID pipe that's welded properly? Everything says try to chisel it off, but good luck...

Franakenmuth, been there many times, ate to much is standard for me there also. then picking up some sweets for home, especially those custard mini fruit pies. But yea, thats a bit of a drive into the state and actually heading there you passed my place by like 5 minutes if you took the freeway up(live right of it). Anyway awesome that you had a great time and didn't get soaked by this unpredictable weather.

Anybody have a tankless water heater? Thoughts/opinions on getting one?
Our electric tank heater seems to be on it's last leg. There's barely enough water for a hot shower, and when I tried to flush it last night water would barely run out of the valve, but I turned the cold water valve on and sediment shot out before it plugged up again. At this point it's probably just as easy to replace as to fix.

The near instant hot water is great, being able to let both kids take a bath separately and then take a shower with hot water still available is why I went tankless with CNG. The wife has her big tub and can actually have hot water the whole time and the warranty was double our old stand up water heater. I have heard some pipes don't work with them but we built our house in 2015 with the right piping for it. I recommend it if you have a large family.
-
@ZRod Your existing furnace flue pipe may be large enough to handle the additional BTU’s of a gas water heater. Roughly, 4” or smaller won’t be big enough, 5” might be big enough and 6”+ likely is large enough. A HVAC guy should be able to tell you how large of a diameter flue is needed. Then you would know if gas is even an option. The little bit of vent piping from a WH to furnace usually amounts to nothing but, if the main stack isn’t big enough, I’d forget it
If you can add more electrical service/panel room reasonably, I’d still try for an electric tankless over an electric tank. Just my preference, I don’t like electric tank heaters.
-
I installed a natural gas tankless in my last home and loved it, but I went with a gas tank water heater in my new house. There are pros and cons to both setups but I found that I wasted too much water waiting for the tankless to start heating and for my lines to clear the cold water. I have a tank system with a hot water loop now so I have almost instant hot water anywhere in my home.
