  1. Bud Fosters defense played good, but our offense pissed this game away. 1st and goal at the 6 and you cant even get a fg attempt. I think Zac Lee has been watching too much Tyrod Taylor film cuz he sure started throwing like him.
  2. For those of you who are fortunate enough to frequent Husker games, what is the best spot for tailgating. Four of us will be making the trip to lincoln this weekend and want a good spot to hang and enjoy the atmosphere before the game. Last year I attended the CU game and through the acquaintance of a friend were invited to the tailgating party underneath the bridge. It was a great time, but it seemed as though that was highly patrolled and tix were needed to get in. Is this true?

  4. I've stayed at the Holiday Inn downtown a few times now. It is not bad at all. I have a room booked for the FAU game and it ran me about $150/night, minimum 2 night stay. The walk to the stadium isn't bad and there are plenty of bars to stop and rest at along the way. The restaurant there also serves a breakfast which is really convenient.
  5. You are correct. This is why, on most important issues, I don't form my opinion based on Daily Nebraskan articles. Perhaps they thought a field goal was worth more points from a long ways out... sorta like basketball. The Daily Nebraskan, and I don't mean to offend anyone associated with it, is the worst newspaper in the Omaha/Lincoln area. I know it's a student paper, but the kids writing articles want to be journalists someday, and errors like the 4 points just can't happen. I thought their statistics were a little funny. I thought I was right, I was there for one of the most exciting moments of my life. It seems like it would be pretty easy to do some simple research on the situation. Husker Extra has some great statistics. I believe they even give a play by play timeline of every game.
  6. Correct me if I am wrong, but weren't here some untrue facts in the article. NU was not down by 4, but by 1. If we were down by 4 then why was it such a big kick? It gave us the lead. There were not 8 minutes left in the game, but less than 2.
  7. Gotlieb did make it a big deal. I thought Cookie was going to get that block. Wouldn't that have been something to shut his pie hole up. He almost got there, was high enough, just a little late.
  8. What a tough loss. Up 18 and blow it. I agree with everyone the shell we went into the second have killed us. We only scored 18 points in the second half and the announcers said there was an 11 minute fg drought. Then Cookie misses the front end of a 1 and 1. Harley threw the ball out of bounds with a couple minutes left. You can point at several key plays that cost us. But 18 points in a half, come on.
  9. I was in the south stands about 90 rows up. Couldn't tell if the kick went through till I saw the fans on the opposite side explode. I still didn't believe it went in. I had to ask to make sure. Started acting like a crazy man. That's the loudest I have ever heard that stadium, and it continued until the end of the game. What a memory. In fact I just found the LJS this morning that I picked up the day after the game with Alex's picture on it. Best game I have been to.
  10. Some losers who hardly ever post here taking pot shots at Ganz when it is clear as day the O'line hasn't been giving him any protection His last pick he took a step back and threw a strike right to that DB. Hasn't really passed well all game. But, it is a team effort out there. It's taking all of the offense chipping in and sucking as a team to lose this one for us. Its not all ganz fault. There have been a couple of drops. But his completion percentage is under 50% with a pick six and a stupid pitch.
  11. The play calling has been bad. You can't beat speed with slower speed. You need power. Castille has been running well the few times he has got the ball. Use the passing game to open up the run. Quit running the ball out of the shotgun. Put in the fullback and play some power football.
  12. So far its been nobody...hopefully that will change.
  13. I agree, it cost us 7 against OU and helu isn't the same since it happened today. We don't have the speed for that play against this team.
  14. The word I am getting from a mortgage company is wait until Jan 20 (Obama's turn). Rates will fall to 4.5%.
  15. I agree with AR, Gill's value may never be higher. What I find amazing is that it only takes 1 successful year to demonstrate you are a great coach and get that next big gig or contract extension (Weiss). Yet consistency over a period of time and one bad year will get you fired (Solich, Tuberville). Would Gill be a good fit at Auburn...maybe so. But if he loses 4-5 games he may not have a job either. I didn't think Gill was ready for the NU job last year, but his performance this year has changed my mind. That is a moot point...we have our coach. ISU is a bad program. I don't belive Gill is after the money. It is rumored that they were going to throw the coin at him. What is the best he will ever do there - 7-5? Maybe it is best to sit tight at Buffalo and see what firings are made next year.
  16. I was right there with you (section 20, row 94 - even with the lower press boxes). The FG was at the other end of the stadium, and I hadn't been able to judge any of the previous ones at that end. But for that one, I saw the fans behind the posts at the north end erupt when the ball reached the top of its arc and knew we had made it. The whole stadium went completely bonkers and I never did see the refs signal. I was screaming and high fiving everybody I could reach. Greatest moment and most exciting game I have ever been to in person. I have to say the CU fans we sat with were good sports the whole game and very funny. That kick absolutely gutted every one of them. But I felt too good to feel bad for them. I was in the row in front of you Sect 20 row 93 seats 8-13. The CU fans weren't too bad, except for that annoying self proclaimed Indian.
  17. I was jumping up and down screaming my head off in the stands in the CU section. It was a great kick, and it was great to see the look on the CU fan's faces. I have never heard Memorial stadium louder.
  18. I see your 5 and raise you 1. 7 of us going, should be fun! I see your seven and raise you.....wait, I might be bringing a 7th. If I can convince the old man that it won't rain or snow and he can purchase a ticket off the street.
  19. I have it on DirectTV channel 212
