Appreciate your perspective @B.B. Hemingway, but I do take one issue with what you said and I'm not sure if it was your intended meaning - "They rap about the same stuff as they sing about in bro country (which I don't care for either)."
It seems like you're equating all forms of rap with just one apparent sub-genre of country, which gravely undermines the true depth and scope of rap music. It also seems like you're sharing this perspective as someone who only casually happens upon inadvertent anecdotal experiences rather than someone who has authentically attempted to experience the rap genre. Perhaps you've done the latter but, if you had, I'm unsure if you would have phrased the sentence in the way you did. Most of the rap I listen to includes little to none of the stereotypes you mentioned, and it sounds like much of the country you listen to avoids similar nonsense.
Without getting too political, one important aspect of rap is understanding the roots of the genre. It's partially the result of hundreds of years of societal and systemic racism, the fallout from policies, events and procedures that helped breed poverty, drug problems and violence in the black community. There's a lot of literature on the topic, but, I think further discussion of this particular point probably belongs in a P&R thread rather than a status update.

The only country I can tolerate i/e actually seek it out and listen to is usually Merle or Willie just to name a few. There's a few others but I would rather listen to Wham than any sort of new country especially any of that horrible 'bro' country. That sort of 'music' is indeed hot garbage most definitely.
