Tell me ONE thing that JP has said about MP, that has been wrong, or over the top? JUST ONE THING that Jason Peter has been wrong on...................

I guarantee that if we got some people involved with the program that actually know what its like to be Nebraska Cornhuskers, it would ignite the program. NU football doesn't need a 5 million dollar a yr coach, obviosly we don't need a 3 million dollar a yr coach. What our program needs is to hire someone like Grant Wistrom, bring in JP for whatever he wants to do. GW has enough connections through the NFL that he could randomly put together a better assistant coaching staff than our last 3 head coaches combind. Not sure if they would be interested, but if I was T.O., I was damn sure ask. They would be true "Nebraska guys", and we already know they aren't afraid of a challenge.

Not sure how old you are Enhance89, but JP, Tommie Frazier, Grant Wistrom, Terry Conneally, Michael Booker, Terrel Farley, etc..................if they did not have the arrogance and attitude that they had, not only would they have never played in the big game, but they would still not hold the title of the "Greatest college football team ever!" Everything he says about Pelini is true. Bo is slowly giving our program a Huge blackeye, and its the recruits i'm worried about, not the nationaly perception by outsider fans.

Jason Peter is nuts on with what he is saying!!! I can't believe the people on here talking sh#t about JP and sticking up for BO! When Callahan was fired, everybody was crying for a "Nebraska" guy to get the job, Bo was no more a Nebraska guy than Barry Switzer. 1 yr as defensive coordinator for Frank does not qualify as a Nebraska guy, but yet hoards of people on this board will talk crap about JP even though he "actually" knows the program and the dedication it takes to stand in the same shoes Bama is standing in right now. How high are you people?. JP put every ounce of everything he had into every down he played as a Nebraska Cornhusker. He is still 10 times more committed to the Nebraska Football program than any coach that is on the payroll.

Badger fan, thanks for taking the time on your assesment. I think most realistic NU fans feel we will be lucky to keep it close. Our defense is weak and Spurrier is all about O.

What skersfan???? Say what you want about Callahan, but don't ever talk sh#t about his recruiting classes! The only reason BO played in big 12 championship games is because of Bill Callahans recruits(THE ONLY REASON)! This year BO was on his own, and the defense impressed nobody.

I noticed at the top of thread that some were refering to the big 12 title game against texas as BP being real close to taking us to the next level. Hmm.......does anyone here see the correlation between N. Suh(callahan recruit) and BP's defenses(which seem to be getting worse). Sorry, but its a fact, check the stats. Bo is out of BC recruits. It took Tom Osborne 23yrs to win a NC, but he played for the conference title every year! Thats the difference between TO and BP! Tom was always in the top 10.

This is to Z-rod and all who believe like him, ARE YOU NUTS!!!! Its middle of december, and we have 8(count them, 8 commmitments). Check out what the real college football programs have for commits. For all the people who think stoops is coming here, its NOT GONNA HAPPEN!!! BP is not gonna hire anyone who is gonna question anything he says. BO is a dictator, our coaching staff will be filled with unknowns because BO's ego will not put up with anybody who will question his authority. His bro is gone, and the first guy he hires is maybe the best DB's coach NU has had in years who was forced out by BP(Marvin Sanders)? BO will never hire a name guy because he never wants to be questioned by anybody(including his own brother). If you were a top high school recruit, would you play for Pelini? I think that question is being answered as we speak, NO! We might be the 5th or 6th best team in the big 10 next year, and thats a maybe.

Does anyone here really think that Bo wants anybody on his staff that will challenge him? LMOA!! Just heard today that when asked if his brother would be coaching in the bowl game, he said "as far as he knew". NICE!!!!

Zoogies, we are definately on the same page. Recruiting is the key, if you don't have them on campus, you don't have a chance. A team full of Nebraska walkons has NO chance against LSU or ALABAMA, NONE. Times have changed even since the mid 90s. We now have some of the best facilities in the nation(i've seen them my self), if Bo can't sell what the University has given him(waaaaaaay better than TO ever had), then maybe its time to change something.. Bo has had 4yrs, BC was fired after 4yrs, i just don't understand the love affair with Bo.

Zoogies, Bo might of went to one super bowl(as LB coach), NOT head coach(big difference), what is there, 6 maybe 7 LB's on an NFL roster? He was getting told what and what not to do, BC was the head guy calling the shots. Not sure what you mean about Callahan pushing the envelope on recruiting, but he was fired with NO NCAA violations or even an investgation. Auburn wins the title last year with everybody in the world knowing that Newton got paid. No NCAA violations. My point is that the 4yrs BC was given, he brought in talent, without cheating, he did it on his on own resume, he surrounded himself with good recruiters. Now, what makes bo a defensive genious? We had 3 legite defensive All-Americans in the preseason, pretty crappy defense, I think you would agree. Putting a crappy defense with an offense that even the coaches cant explain tells me that we are no further ahead than we were 8 yrs ago, sorry but its a fact. No disrespect meant.

Yeah Z-rod, i really do need to bring that up, i know its a slap in the face to the "Bo is a Nebraska guy crowd", but our football program is exactly where it was 8 yrs ago, no better or worse, and people that hate Bill Callahan don't understand that he was light yrs ahead of the Pelinis in football knowledge. BC coached in a Super Bowl, Bo was LB coach for the Packers., As far as I know, he has never been offered an NFL job, or any other Div.1 coaching jobs. Being Defensive cooridinator for 1 yr at NU does not make him a "Nebraska guy". We beat the cream puffs, get stomped by the good teams, its a fact. Whether you admit it or not, Bo is out of BC recruits!!!!! We don't have nearly the talent that BC brought in. Hell, if it wasn't for N.Suh, we wouldn't of played in 2 big 12 title games. First year with his own recruits, NW owned us!!! In our own house, thats pretty sad. Keep drinkin the cool aid buddy.

Guess we should of just kept frank, what we have now is a carbon copy of the program we had in 2003...........beat the teams we should, get crushed against the good teams, win 8-9 games a year, very average recruiting. Doesn't make me happy(i want championships, conference +), but a majority on this board are ok with it.

my reply to HANC: How do you know that the backups can't play, AND if you are right that they can't play, then Bo should not be our head coach. My problem with BP is that he gets pisssed at a kid and benches him and said kid is never heard from again. BP is more about soothing his own ego in my opinion. Carnes has never been given a chance so how does anybody know what he might do in a game situation in front of 85,000 fans(the answer is nobody). On a real serious note, Bo's decisions are going to really hinder recruiting, if they aren't already. We actually might need Rex to carry 40 a game next year cause 2 of our star RB's might be gone. Hope not, but it is a possiblity. Why burn their redshirts and then bench them, doesn't make any sense to me at all.

man i miss suh........wish we had 1 guy on our team this year with the killer attitude he has on the field, its football, he is playing the game the way it is supposed to be played. i guarantee the old school guys who played the game love the way suh is playing. slauson just lost a lot of respect, sounds like he's scared. what he did looks bad on tv, but we didn't see what the gb ol were doing to him before that happened(and yes, i'm a packers fan).

True to the Red: What do you mean give them some time, its been 4yrs, BC was gone after 4yrs, why do some people think Bo is such a great coach, i don't get it. Really, if you were a high school superstar, why would you want to play for Bo Pelini? We have no identity on offense, why would an offensive player want to play in our offense? He's constantly benching guys for whatever reason and they disappear. He plays our 5star RB Green just enough to burn his RS and he hasn't been seen since(won't be surprised if he transfers). The biggest reason we won't see any bigtime recruits is the fact they see him on TV and know he's a hothead. Who wants to play for a coach that is pissed off and yelling all the time. If his asst coaches aren't questioning some of his judgement, that tells me they are scared of him as well. Its not good for the program.

Ziebol, what the hell makes Bo a great coach? The only reason he is the head coach now is because the one year he was D-Coordinator for Frank, he had a guy named Demario Williams. The Pelinis better get their heads out. He might be good friends with Barney, but this is business.

I only wish that the team going into Penn St. was one of the teams of the 90's. They would of thrived on this enviroment. I'm afraid that this team will play scared and intimidated..............hope i'm wrong.

Never said BC could coach them, but you have to get them on campus to have a chance, and he did that!
