I'm sure it has to do with early enrollment.  Frost has shown that he likes Jucos to be here in the spring.  But right now, it's all speculative.

I read Fair hit his enrollment marks. I imagine this has more to do with getting a grad transfer/him being a Juco and some communication issues.

You're too late to this party.  I fixed it years ago:

    • Eight team playoff
    • Five Power 5 Conference Champions (provided they are in the Top 12 of the final standings)
    • Highest-rated Group of Five Champion auto-qualifies if they are in the Top 12
    • Remaining teams chosen by committee
    • No more than two per conference

Now that the field is set, how does the playoff itself actually work and how does it mesh with the other bowls?

    • Those eight teams are locked into New Year's Six bowls on a rotating basis (as they do now with four)
    • Remaining bowl assignments can proceed as they currently do
    • Higher-seeded teams host the quarter final game two weeks after CCG weekend
    • The four teams that lose in the quarter finals will be matched up in two pre-determined New Year's Six bowl games (rotating)
    • The four teams that win in the quarter finals will move on to two other New Year's Six games as the semi-finals (rotating, as they do now)
    • Championship game one week later (as it is now)

Bowl structure preserved.  Conference championships matter.  Group of Five teams have a chance.  Doesn't extend the season (time-wise).  Bowl season begins and ends with a bang.

I like this for the most part, but I'm anti-top 12 ccg winners only. I think maybe the caveat should be that they are either in the top 12 or beat a top 12 team. We all love the double digit seed going into the elite eight in March. As long as they can prove they beat top talent I think they should be in.  I also think that the G5 winner needs an auto in (would also need to figure out what to do with ND) no matter what. Otherwise, you're gonna find suddenly that G5s won't ever be in the top 12.

I'm already way over the eyeball test nonsense that leads to the CFP. The way I view it, the division is the first round of the playoffs, the CCG the second, then you get two more rounds to crown a champion. The system is already perverted and it's now going down to the conferences (see the big 12).

Is a Frost finger point double the strength of a Held finger point?

Someone needs to go through the pictures and create a spread sheet. What way is the finger pointed? Arm around the player or not? Color of hat? and then see if that correlates to  a commit or not. We need data folks.

I haven't seen much for interior linemen right now.  With Jurgens moving there and the possibility of Piper going there as well, I don't think they're that worried.  Plus I think Farniok would move inside if we get enough help on the outside.  So I think it's pretty much OTs for this year.

Part of that is just because we have a lot of seniors.  Raridon, Bland, Wilson, Bando, WFarniok and Jurgens plus possibly Piper and MFarniok is a pretty good set to choose from.

Any thoughts on if we're going to be able to hold off FSU for Bland. I feel like that would be a hit even with the depth you listed. I suppose off season development will speak to this a lot.

I hope we can get an infusion of more talent and depth to help improve the o-line. I would rather have Farniok as a guard, but that means another guy will need to take his spot. I know that the stud OT from Minnesota is a great talent, but it’s tough to expect him to contribute as a true frosh.

I won't get into the pros and cons of it, but a number of interest is 134. That's the overall ranking of our "best" recruit. Nebraska is putting together a strong class, but to win you need game changers. We might have a few of them, but right now it seems a lot of our guys are going to be the ones you develop. Once everything starts taking hold (my guess is year 2), we should be able to start climbing those rankings.

I'll add for context 2AM was ranked 139 last year and we see how that played out. So we may be getting our guys, but we've got some rebuilding to do.

Glass half full:  He was here for our best defensive performance of the year, crowd was into it and we were playing aggressive

Glass half empty:  Probably the coldest he's been in his life.

Just gotta get one of those nice warm team jackets...and keep him away from Major Applewhite.

We get a solid commitment from Cropper, we can stop talking about Robinson. Don’t get me wrong. I wish the kid the best at Kentucky.

On the one hand, I agree with you. On the other, I think it's important to recognize what getting the top player on your board can do. Look at AM. They're at the top of the board for a reason.

Well, he did repeal legislation Obama put in place that makes it harder for people with mental illnesses to get guns.  So, there's that.

It's somewhat like healthcare.  They oppose everything, repeal anything on the books..... promise something.....then.......chirp chirp chirp.........

But....now is not the time to talk about it.  It's time for thoughts and prayers.

Speaking as a psychologist. It is not Mental Illness that leads people to violence. There are very very few behavioral patterns associated with increased violence, namely, they are a history of violence. Most individuals diagnosed with mental health issues are significantly more likely to be victims of violent crime than to perpetrate.
