  1. Glad we didn't get that honor http://www.nilesstar.com/2009/07/25/notre-dame-wins-japan-bowl-19-3/
  2. I'm pretty sure if a player gets injured he can be switched to an academic scholarship and no longer counts against the limit. So if a school 'discovers' an injury, nothing has changed.
  3. I'm sure their big chested recuit will equally adept at pitching and handing it off.
  4. who'd of thought Schellenberger and Paterno would last until 2011, and the former would have the better rep?
  5. Recruiting now a game of musical chairs.
  6. And that's why I don't watch the wildcard weekend to see what 8-8 crap team will get retired when the real playoffs start.
  7. The sponsors will not cough up the cash for an NIT like game. I urge you all to think about a +1 after the regular bowls.
  8. Well I grudgingly all that Tebow has done to keep Brady Quinn off the field. And I will continue to respect him after Belichek reiterates how true greatness doesn't need a wildcard bid.
  9. We'll see in one month if Southern Cal really does only take 15 new kids.
  10. I don't think they ended oversigning. I read that they can still cut players and then apply recruits to the previous year's class, that now has vacancies.
  11. They take the end of last year's rankings then raise the Heisman hopeful's by 5 spots.
  12. Nice hand. Westerkamp and Darby gone, Bama won a real title, this is a very bad week.
  13. Arky clearly signs more talent but I was still impressed by how KSU used their own. Except on the last drive, I wish coaches would tell QBs that they have to throw it up for grabs sometimes. c.f. Denard Robinson.
  14. RESTORE JAN 1st Cotton Bowl Classic. Baylor vs Alabama SWC vs atlarge Orange Bowl: Oklahoma St. vs Clemson [big8/BigEast/ACC all had tie ins at different times] Sugah Bowl: LSU vs Boise St SEC vs atlarge Fiesta Bowl: West Virginia vs Stanford [big12 or two independents] Rose Bowl: Oregon PAC vs Wisconsin B1g10 [same] Now this produces some awesome combos for the BCSCG a week later.
  15. The last Pats OC can warn him about the most difficult one.
  16. Maybe he'll think With Floyd gone I'll be the boss on this team.
  17. Never underestimate Okla's ability to lose a bowl game or the Hawks to overachieve. I wonder what variation of the Statue of Liberty we'll see.
  18. I hate to make predictions especially pertaining to coaches jobs, but if things don't improve considerably starting with the Champ sports bowl, Kelly won't be at ND by JW's Jr yr IMO. ...ummm, ND went 8-5 last year; will either be 8-5 or 9-4 in BKs second year this season. Improve considerably? lmao. If it is not for the 10 fluke TOs in two games vs South Florida and Michigan, ND has a 10 win season. Turnovers aren't flukes. When the gamblers can't predict it, they call it random. In a related story its bad luck to be waving the ball around at elbow's length.
  19. I posted this when it was first asked way back in September. Here was my response: USC - Football, basketball, Tennis OSU - Football USC - Admitted violations after NCAA reported it to them OSU - Admitted violations and got the NCAA involved for punishments (self reported) USC - Dragged their feet in response to the NCAA OSU - Gave everything requested by the NCAA before requested deadlines USC - Proof of violations occurring for more than one year OSU - Proof of violations occurring for only one year. USC - Failure to show compliance office capable of managing an AD their size OSU - Had enough people and showed with documentation they exhibited an air of attempted compliance and education. USC - 10 major violations OSU - 2 major violations USC - All involved escaped punishment by leaving for greener pastures prior to punishment. OSU - Only one left for greener pastures, while the other 4 athletes are remaining to server their punishment. Head coach was forced to resign. you forgot one USC no nexus found with coaching staff. eOSU head coach learned and concealed it.
  20. Well some of us always presume the worse too. Westerkamp to eOSU?
  21. Southern Cal was punished for their history, if you followed their scandals in the late 80s and before, they sound remarkably similar to what broke in the 2000s. eOSU had never been caught or at least had evaded knowledge, so they had somewhat of a better reputation. also I think small private schools have less support than major public ones. No one cares if the NCAA wants to destroy an SMU but they'd have Congressional hearings if they did the same thing to a Texas Michigan.
  22. Miles deserves it for going an entire year wihtout any Les Miles Moments.
  23. 3 scholarships a year? Boise St may just have to get the death penalty.
  24. The only thing NDnation says is that a couple of our commits, a CB and WR, took officials to USC this week. I'll feel roughly the same if Kiffin did some of his stuff.
