  1. Why does Ruud have such a low salary? He’s way below the next lowest.
  2. Something tells me this guy may not be all about the team.
  3. We need the rustle of cornfields to start callin his name.
  4. Does anyone get run out in a year when there’s no real scholarship limit with all the old guys staying?
  5. The theory is great: any college kid can transfer to any other college or university that accepts them, with no penalty, so the same should be for an athlete. A college student should find and be accepted at the university before officially leaving the current one. The practice is bad: any college athlete can opt transfer out of a college or university, but there may not be a college or university that accepts them and has a football team that wants them. College students are forced to officially announce they're looking elsewhere before they're confident a university will accept them. I think we'll have a couple rough years for transfers not finding a place to land, and data will show it's not always greener on the other side because there may not be another side.
  6. It’s simple math, man. He has two three-star ratings. Find the average. It’s obviously two.
  7. Team notsurewhat’shappeninghere.
  8. My gut says if he decommitted while visiting another school that he probably decommitted to join said school.
  9. I live here. This is true most years but it’s going to be 38 today. This ain’t no regular below zero year.
  10. Let's say he goes for two earlier, like statistics said he should have, misses, then scores later and misses again. Not that he was going for it, but: What's the legacy? The legacy is two bonehead calls when he should have kicked the extra point. Now the legacy is: cojones.
  11. To play devil's advocate, what if Miami scores a field goal on their possession. Now it's 34-23 and that second missed 2 pt try means 34-29 and you need a third TD to win instead of a FG to tie. I see what you're saying and follow the math. Makes sense and I doubt ever crossed his mind. I'm just wondering what else was on his mind in those last 7-8 minutes, or if he was moved by the moment to go for 2 and it wasn't something he was thinking about earlier. Maybe he felt his guys were playing well enough at that point that the likelihood of converting was 75-80%, where it wasn't earlier. Maybe coaches saw something late in the game?
  12. There was no OT then. It was win, lose or tie. Osborne's cojones were too big to go for a tie. Win: 50% Lose: 50% Tie: not an option Doesn't matter when you go for two if you're only outcome is win or lose.
  13. It's felt this way a long time too. Before Adrian (and a year of Tanner Lee) we had Tommy for four years. Before that was Taylor for three years. They've been hurt at different times and we have had no solid backup. Guys like Ryker Fyfe, Ron Kellogg, Andrew Bunch have had to start games. All walkons. I have no confidence in any depth at skill positions heading into next year. I don't even have confidence in a starting lineup for WR, RB and QB.
  14. I see Frost needs to be the CEO and not call plays, but others say he should also coach the QBs. He needs to spend more time running the team, not one room. Do we need two linebacker coaches? Or, could Chins take a group? Or have one of them coach all the backers? That would open up a S/T coaching opportunity.
  15. So I'm confused, is Fidone coming in as an outside hitter or a libero?
  16. Thanks for moving to the right thread. This is really interesting what you posted. We really have to hit on these guys, and if not then we need grad transfers to fill holes. Would be nice to have guys in the system longer than that though if possible.
  17. Any word on JUCOs? The guys we brought in last year haven't made as much of an impact as we'd hope. Do they keep more spots open for grad transfers and skip JUCO this year, without them playing?
  18. I think you're right. I guess the university's PR machine worked well, because local papers all talked about how safe everything was for the players, and how they were better off there than anywhere else. I read that enough that I was worried we'd go into the season with so many players who that never had it, then get some super spreader and the season is over. Now maybe we know why the university isn't releasing any numbers... because they don't fit the narrative. Here's to hoping the Skers and the league can get through the season well. It's been a crazy year in CFB, so let's hope we get a couple of those good bounces and capitalize. GBR.
  19. I assumed with talk of the extra precautions we were taking to keep our players healthy, and Frost commenting earlier this summer that kids were safer here than elsewhere, that numbers on the team would be low. Then yesterday he said this: "We've already had enough on our team that have either tested positive or have antibodies that I think we've gotten to a place where we're a little bit less at risk." I know they're not releasing the numbers, but it makes you wonder how many guys have tested positive. Anyone have any intel?
  20. Creepy yes, but his step dad commented on the above post and I'm copying and pasting the pic of the family. Two Huskers. One Hawkeye, Go with the adults, kid.
  21. THe fact that 247 is capitalizing on this shows this has gotten a bit crazy. Glad they did. Just crazy.
  22. and we might not know for a few months with grad transfers
  23. You can make these guesses in the game at the top of the page.
  24. Their average ranking over five years is 13.7. Would be interesting to see how many teams are ahead of that for a five year average. Might not be as lowly ranked as they appear.
