2022 Season Opener to take place in Dublin, Ireland
bugeater17 replied to knapplc's topic in Husker Football
It brings a lot. Sales point for recruiting and rewarding players in the program who have not had a bowl trip/experience. Also it is not one of Nebraska’s home games so it won’t affect game day sales and local businesses. -
Win tomorrow and add Nebraska to the auto bids??

Thunderin' Bolts vs. Ohio State & Indiana (in Bloomington)

2 terrible calls. Hallmark call was the ump injecting themselves into the game. Scwhelly’s pitched bounced as well. -
Huskers to Release Spring 2021 Testing Numbers
bugeater17 replied to Mavric's topic in Husker Football
I thought he played fairly well at Safety in the spring game. I think he’ll be a fringe special teams contributor/backup next year but will definitely work his way onto special teams in the future... and possibly a contributor on D in 3-4 years. He’s obviously very athletic and showed a good nose for the football in the spring game. -
Northwestern is the nation's top home run hitting team with 1.93 home runs per game. Junior Shawn Goosenberg leads the way with a .358 batting average, 11 home runs and a 1.125 OPS. Northwestern is 10-12 away from Evanston, including a 2-5 record in road contests. https://huskers.com/news/2021/5/13/baseball-huskers-welcome-wildcats-to-hawks-field.aspx

Thunderin' Bolts vs. Indiana and Rutgers (in Piscataway)
bugeater17 replied to hskrfan4life's topic in Husker Baseball
I was impressed with Emmett Olson when he came in a pitched a solid 3rd and 4th inning against Rutgers on Monday. Would like to see him get some more innings as the season goes on. Could be a good one down the road and possibly a mid-week starter next year. -
Was at the Spring game and said it was "awesome." Really enjoyed the atmosphere. Official visits scheduled on June 11 at Iowa State, June 18 at Indiana, Nebraska for June 22, 23 and 24, and then the weekend of the 25th at K-State. Looking for comfortability with staff, education, and playing style.

Weird and exciting game and a Great win! At least me getting nothing done at work today was worth it! -

Hopefully the bats aren't dead again at this 10:00 a.m. start like they were yesterday in the first game. I'll be interested to see how the bull pen is used today as well. GBR! -
Has a ton of potential. He could really benefit if Adrian comes back for the 2022 season and get two years of learning behind Adrian before being thrust into the starting position.

I think the reason for optimism is the starting pitching should be much improved next year. Lose Hroch but get back Gomes which I think is an upgrade. Povich and Schanaman should both improve. Bullpen should also be improved overall despite losing Schwelly (who will be a big loss out of the bullpen). Replacing Hallmark and Acker will be tough. I think Banhoff, Chick, Foster are likely starting OF next year. Steil should continue to improve and take Roskam's spot at 1b full time. Likely see Cervantes full time at SS which will be a downgrade offensively but hopefully 2nd year at this level will help him figure some things out.

Would have like to see Wynne (or someone else) before bringing in Bunz if your not going to Schwelly right after Bunz.

As suspected this weekend had all the markings of a let down. Rutgers is sneaky tough and finally getting ranked has this team losing focus.

NU to unveil $150 million football facility plan Friday
bugeater17 replied to knapplc's topic in Husker Football
Yes. Also gives a sales pitch to recruits who will be at the spring game. I'm sure there will be some sort of announcement during a timeout/break. Very smart and strategic time to do the ground breaking. -
Rutgers is a sneaky tough team and they've beat some of the better teams in the league. With NU being ranked for the first time and Rutgers coming to town it sets up for a potential let down. But Gritty beat Pretty... GBR!

Middle of the lineup slumping. Tough to win many games when 3,4,5 don’t get a hit. Better now than in a few weeks.

USC medical staff has been through the wringer lately (just settled a $852 million sex abuse lawsuit) - so reporting of misdiagnosis is not surprising. https://www.npr.org/2021/03/25/981435791/usc-agrees-852-million-settlement-to-end-sex-abuse-litigation
