  1. Commissioner Barry Alvarez, I mean AD at Wisc, will not allow it since it will not benefit Wisc.
  2. I agree. We are definitely seeing more relief pitchers used. Bolt seems to not want to stretch guys beyond 1 inning in relief (except for Schreiber) early in the season.
  3. Yup. No surprise Ouedraogo is leaving. I expect Stevenson will likely be next.
  4. Disappointing Sunday. Wind went out of the sails after Ohio State took the lead and it carried over into the Iowa game.
  5. Niko was buried on the depth chart. A physical specimen but not sure he would ever contribute aside from special teams.
  6. Barry would have never survived in today’s climate. I’m not so sure Stoops in his earlier years would have either.
  7. Hallmark will be in CF, Anderson at 3B, Schwellenbach at SS, and Matthews at 2B. Apparently a battle at 1B but I'd expect Banjoff to win that. Chick will DH and Everitt at C but I'd expect Roskum will get a far amount of games as well at C and DH. I'd also expect Acker and Mojo to round out the OF corner spots. Starting rotation looking like Povich, Hroch, Shanaman and Bunz as game 4 starter.
  8. Wow - I could not have been more wrong.
  9. I think Teddy Allen will return. I've not been overly impressed with Lat Mayan. Seems a step slow on Defense. I'd have the starting 5 as Banton, McGowens, McGowens, Allen, Walker. Mayan, Stevenson, Andre, and Kominga coming off the bench as key reserves.
  10. Serious question, does Nebraska have a 2022 commit before the spring game? I'm going to say no.
  11. Teach with the post of the year!
  12. Lists Nebraska, Florida State, Iowa State, and Texas A&M as "strong contenders" right now.
  13. Thomas Fidone Teddy Prochazka Henry Lutovsky James Carnie Marques Buford Koby Bretz
  14. Without having any knowledge, it looks like weight lifting and conditioning groups. I'm sure there will be competitions each week between the different "teams". Likely points given for gains in the weight room, lifting challenges, conditioning challenges and etc.
  15. Next man up. It will be a big spring for him with the increased reps he will see.
  16. QB has to be a priority now in the transfer portal for the 1 (or possibly 2 spots if we miss on Dickerson) spots left. Austin Kendall and James Blackman are two names that stick out to me that are in the portal but not sure if immediate playing time is something they are seeking in a fit. JUCO may be the only option to try and provide depth.
  17. I'm seeing reports that he is still in Colorado - so the rumors he is opting out for the Spring appear to be true. Looks as though we've seen the last of Luke.
  18. Any news on if he is in Lincoln to begin winter conditioning??
  19. I think your post supports my point in that recruiting has improved with Frost over Pelini. In 7 years of Pelini recruiting he had a rating over .88 once. In just three (soon to be four) years Frost has done that twice. You stated its been substantially worse but the evidence does not support that.
  20. You are missing the point of the post. It has nothing to do with player retention - which I agree with you was bad under Riley. Perhaps go back and read the post I was responding to so you have more context concerning my post.
  21. Sure... players left (but that happened under Pelini as well). The purpose of the post and figures was to evidence recruiting didn't significantly dip after Pelini as stated; instead, recruiting (not necessarily player retention) has gotten better.
  22. Both of the bolded are misleading and false. Every fanbase will have fans that claim better athletes are on the bench but I don't think the outcry was more disproportionate under Pelini then it is say now. In fact, I think fans under Frost have been worse about Frost not playing better athletes (see McCaffrey before this season and the WR position). Also, I would not agree recruiting got significantly worse after Pelini left. Instead, there has been an uptick (barely), see 247 Avg Rating: Pelini 2012: .8791 2013: .8675 2014: .8495 Pelini/Riley 2015: .8616 2016: .8686 2017: .8781 Riley/Frost 2018: .877 2019: .885 2020: .8846 2021: .8764
  23. The most important stat line @ Rutgers: 2 ints; 3 fumbles, 2 lost for a total of 4 turnovers. If he does that against a good team not playing their 2nd and 3rd string QBs the outlook on Martinez going into the offseason is much different.
  24. Not to beat a dead horse, but Mike Riley's recruiting on the O-line was subpar. 2015 produced no starters (big get was Jalin Barrett out of Oklahoma who never sniffed the field). To produce 2 starters out of 3 classes (15, 16, 17) might be worse the subpar.
