  1. Don't care how bad Texas looked today, they will beat us soundly if we don't learn how to hold on to the football.
  2. Good stop. I'd guess we're still playing pretty vanilla on both sides of the ball, so we may give up a few first downs here and there throughout the game.
  3. They're taking the ball.. Bad idea. :bonesflag: :bonesflag:
  4. Yeah, we need OU to win out... until the big 12 championship game. Then we can claim a marquee win. Texas is going to unravel.
  5. Texas will get beaten next week by OU too, and they'll have folded entirely by the time they roll into Lincoln. With UCLA's QB springing 30 yard TD runs, imagine what Martinez is going to do to these guys.
  6. There ya go. That's what you get for not just running the ball, UCLA. Texas' defense is for real. But the first good offense they face will be us.
  7. Their defense is pretty scary, but their offense reminds me of Nebraska's last year. In fact their whole gameplan is pretty much ours from when we played them. The offense is in a shell, and they try to win with their defense.
  8. A chance to equal our stride,
  9. It has nothing to do with Lauren Cook being the coaches daughter to why Bridgett Root wont play much, it is because Lauren Cook is really good and that is why she will play and not Root. okay......
  10. Up next: Garrett Gilbert. :throwdabones1:
  11. Voted Hagg, only because Carl Pelini has said on multiple occasions that if he had to start a defense from scratch, he'd take Hagg first. But they're all beasts. Or, as Tom Shatel puts it, they're all "flying ninjas."
  12. It would be great to play an unbeaten OU for the last Big 8 (12) championship. NU OU, undefeated teams with national championship implications. Doesn't get any better than that. But OU needs to BARELY beat Texas, and it needs to be controversial, so that when Texas comes to Lincoln they think that they're still the best team in the history of college football that just got screwed out of a game. I want them STUNNED when they leave town.
  13. From 3:15 to the end...
  14. I'm sure it was Sarkisian giving us the first place vote, not Bo. Bo is the kind of coach that after winning 8 straight national championships, the Coaches poll would give us 58/59 first place votes, and Bo would use the only non-first place vote as a slight to his team, saying, "They don't think we're #1! They think you're weak! What've you got to say about that, Blackshirts?!" and work his team into a frenzy before a game against Doane College. And all the while, it was Bo that didn't vote them #1.
  15. Guys. Come on. It's an ONLINE FAN POLL. This is what we do. Will voting Nebraska #1 basically give away that we hijacked their poll and ruined it for everyone else? Yes. Is that ok, even if we're not sure Nebraska is the best team? YES.

    POLLS

We might jump OU. Other than that, I don't think we'll jump anybody. Everybody in front of us except OU was impressive enough to maintain their spot.
  17. Yeah there is....When Nebraska went to the Kick off Classic..in NJ to start defending their championship....It was Tommie Frazier Couple problems... That was 1994, so they weren't defending the championship yet. It was against West Virginia, so it wasn't a true road game. And Tommie Frazier's first road start was in 1992. He was asking "Can I think of a more impress Road win by a freshmen or senior" not a Road Start?? And yes they were defending the 1994 championship when they beat Miami the year before. You have to remember...the game against West Virgina was in in the Kick Off Classic in 1994 They went off to win their second title in 95they won the 95... Yikes... First of all, "He" was me, and I actually did, in fact, ask if anyone could think of a more impressive first road start. As for the rest of what you just said... Good effort, though.
  18. Nah. Not enough hype at this point of the year, and too many other weapons on the offense to share the wealth with. Nobody, even Martinez, is going to put up eye-popping numbers like Dennard Robinson, simply because they don't have to. After last year, when Suh actually finished BEHIND McCoy in the Heisman race, I've officially stopped caring who wins the award.
  19. Nothing. I'm just pointing out that capt obvious sees the vertical passing game as a concern and you provide no evidence or commentary to dispute that. What??? I posted his passing stats for today. What more do you need??? How many of those throws were over 20 yards? That's what I'd call a vertical passing game. His straight passing numbers don't address that. Oh, so he's not throwing 30 to 70 yrd bombs. Heh....wow....ok, "great" point. Diss him at your leisure my friend.     This isn't about throwing 70 yard bombs every play, it's about adding more weaponry to your arsenal. Adding a legitimate deep ball threat to our solid running game would be devastating. This isn't a diss on TMart so you can drop the white knight act I think our offense is pretty devastating "right now" and we have no need for long bombs. Tmart "right now" is very possibly a better passer than Frost/Frazier or Crouch were. I'm just sooooo sick of hearing we need the "long ball" to succeed. But whatever.....carry on. Really???? Just a third party listening to this but... You don't think we need a deep passing game to succeed against MNC type competition to go with our running game? Think we can run against Alabama with 9 guys in the box without getting a deep ball every now and then? Oh, and by the way you were the one that refuted we didn't have a vertical passing game when you obviously have no damn idea what "vertical" means in this instance. Are you resting your head on Martinez's chest tonight or what? Why are you so defensive? Why can't everybody be objective to these things instead of getting a stiffy for a player? Why are people who are so ignorant as to phrasing in a post so quick to shoot off at the mouth? Just because Martinez hasn't thrown a bomb doesn't mean he doesn't have it. Just this week, the coaches came out and said he DOES have it, Watson said his deep ball is the best he's ever coached. Keep in mind that due to the lopsided nature of these games, Nebraska still hasn't shown that much of their offense. There are playaction passes and different option looks that I guarantee are in the playbook that we haven't been witness to yet this season. Wait 'til Texas...
