They're easily the frontrunners in the PAC 10, and before watching Arizona dominate Iowa in the 1st half tonight, I was thinking UO would waltz through their conference schedule. But AZ may prove to be a test. As for their competition, Portland State... UO might as well play a high school team. New Mexico's not much better. They did beat Tenn. better than Florida did though.

Yeah there is....When Nebraska went to the Kick off Classic..in NJ to start defending their championship....It was Tommie Frazier Couple problems... That was 1994, so they weren't defending the championship yet. It was against West Virginia, so it wasn't a true road game. And Tommie Frazier's first road start was in 1992.

Maybe this is just me yearning for the good ole days, but I'm not sure that we'll need him to beat people with his arm. We have so many threats running the ball, and are doing it so well that we may be able to just keep moving the chains on the ground like the Husker teams of old. We'll see. Based on how the PAC 10 is doing in non-conference play, we're going to see a significant step-up in speed in Big 12 play, so we'll learn more at that point.

Name ONE example of a more impressive first road start by a Nebraska quarterback. I can't think of one more impressive than this one, not by a freshman or a senior, not by Gill, Frazier, Frost, Crouch... hmmm... I'm still a little concerned about defending a strong running attack. We got so far out in front of UW that they abandoned their game, but they had that one drive where they just shoved it down our throats in the first half. But, at this point, that's all I'm concerned about... Would be a little more comfortable if we stopped with the fumbles, but it was much more solid than last week.

Nice thing is that Martinez should only have to play about 2 series next week before resting the rest of the game. Then there's a week and a half before KSU, so he should be able to heal up.
