  1. Ok, let's actually play some defense now. :bonez :bonez :throwdabones1: :throwdabones1:
  2. Maybe if our offense recedes in to the shell they hid in last year, the defense will finally start playing to their potential.
  3. We need a TMAGIC emoticon. or snuffy, that'd be fine too.
  4. When you're a QB, you have to be smart. Trying to carry 11 people on your back is dumb. Unless your name is Tommie Frazier Exactly. People conveniently ignore that on his 75 yard TD run against Florida, he VERY nearly fumbled the ball. It's a fine line between greatness and stupid.
  5. BTW, everyone's talking about Cody, but how about TMAGIC???!!! :koolaid2: Kid has more poise than his veteran teammates, and is playing LIGHTS OUT. Just ridiculous.
  6. I liked the call! It just had a bad outcome in this instance. Your tune would be different if he drove the ball down the field. Well so far the kid is 0-2 in first play drives while coming off the bench. So no tune changed here! No... he's 3/4. He had 2 TD drives against Western Kentucky, a 1 play TD drive against Idaho, and fumbled today. He may have been in against Idaho at the end too, but I think Tray fumbled the ball at the goalline... Can't remember. The announcer today was wrong when he said he fumbled the snap of his one drive against Idaho though, unless I missed something he was talking about Niles Paul.
  7. I disagree with your line of thinking. A backup QB needs to get some meaningful snaps. The fumble by Green just makes it worse than it really was. When you have a running QB like Martinez, it is even MORE important than ever to get your back up in do to the increased chances of injury. You don't give your backup a meaningful snap on the 5 yard line in his first road start since last year. He had problems with being rattled last year, what makes them think it'll be different in this thundering stadium? You give it to him after your kickoff guy runs it to the 50 maybe. Or in the 2nd half. Not on your 5 yardline. If you give it to him in those other scenarios, it's no longer as meaningful of a snap.
  8. If Taylor had been the one that fumbled the ball, everyone would've said, "See this is why Zac Lee should be the starter." If Lee had fumbled that ball, everyone would say, "See, why didn't you put Cody in instead of Lee?" Cody fumbled, it sucked, but hey, as long as Bo still has something to be angry about after the game, we're in good shape for next week. Also, that long TD drive where they rammed it down our throats should be a good lesson before Kansas State. Now let's just keep the offense rolling, keep Locker in panic mode, and walk away with a big win.
  9. You can shut up, it doesn't make sense to pull out a guy who's in the flow when you're dominating and you have the ball so close to your own goal line. Plans can, and should be, adjusted. Yeah exactly. I think it was a dumb call. So you agree with the coach and the coach never makes mistakes so suddenly you are NOT a couch coach because you agree with the coach? We have the right to criticize a questionable decision. It's a message board. So don't come in here and yell at us to shut up. You don't like complaining then call your mom during game time. It wasn't a dumb decision. They've made the same decision the last two games, and Cody led TD drives. Here he fumbled trying to gain an extra yard, and that's what was stupid, not the fact that they put him in the game. He messed up and that's unfortunate... oh my god Jesse Palmer just called us the "Blackhawk defense."
  10. Alright, now just keep the gas pedal down. No letting up.

  12. I remember the first time they played that video. If I recall, wasn't that also the day they changed the tunnel walk music into the rap version of sirius? Talk about completely killing all semblance of fan energy right before a game. Ahhh yes, here we go. Warning: NSFHF (Not Safe For Husker Fans) Oh GOD, my eyes and my ears are burning!!!
  13. Not using that clip will be the biggest mistake HuskerVision could ever make IMO. It's worse than that stupid parachuting tunnel walk they created a few years ago. If they don't want to have to keep updating it, change some of the player clips to past Husker greats (Rozier, Frazier, Wistrom, etc). But that video gives me chills every time I watch it. Tell your wife I'm sorry, but NOTHING could be worse than that parachuting video. I'd rather they play scenes from "Gigli" for the tunnel walk than bring out that piece of crap again. You're not implying I think the Player Prayer video is "worse" than that parachuting crap? I was saying that not using the prayer video would not be worse than the parachuting video. Because nothing can be worse than the parachuting video.

They really should be more consistent with the Tunnel Walk year to year. Take the stuff that works, and keep that going each year. I know that probably harshes their creativity, but it's HuskerVision, it's not really there to fulfill some visual artist's creative desires. It's there to contribute to the Gameday atmosphere, and that's it. You don't see the marching band reinventing their Pregame show every year. Maintain the stuff that works, and redesign the stuff that doesn't. The "In the Deed the Glory" video worked better than anything they've thrown up there in a long time. They shouldn't abandon it until they come up with something better.
  15. Source? Make that RELIABLE source? http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/huskyfootballblog/2012421961_checking_in_with_ivan_lewis.html?syndication=rss Apparently you misinterpret the word reliable. I'm definitely going to believe that. No. by 'reliable' you probably mean 'i want something from a huskers site saying that', so here http://thehusker.com/jake-locker-40-yard-dash/ and yes, it's unofficial. his lowest official time is 4.43 No. By reliable, I mean I want something from an unbiased source. A Nebraska site is not unbiased. Nor is the Washington coaching staff. Rivals, Scout, ESPN, Yahoo Sports, etc. I want this verified by a source! Our O-line usually underwhelms me....(perhaps I should rephrase that) Guys... no one cares.
  16. It's not coming back. But thank you for the kudos. My wife came up with the idea, so she appreciates these threads more than anyone I think. I uploaded it to youtube because I knew that people would enjoy playing it back for the next few years. The other reason was because I knew that they wouldn't be using it ever again. RIP, best year of my life. It should come back. So should the stars from the original tunnel walk. There's enough variety from year to year it would be totally fine and pretty cool if some of it stayed the same. They've kept the music the whole time, there's no reason not to keep some of the visual effects too.
  17. I'm torn between attending Stewart's "Rally to Restore Sanity" and Colbert's "March to Keep Fear Alive."
  18. If there are going to be 20-30 thousand Husker fans there, they won't all be in the visitor's section... Hopefully they can make a little noise while Locker's on the field.
  19. Zac Lee looked fast against Arizona. Need I say more? I'm sorry, but Locker puts Lee to shame in every aspect of his game. That Locker run against AZ was impressive. Give the guy credit. I think that Joe's point was that even Lee looked fast against Arizona, so imagine how fast Martinez will look against a PAC10 team that finished behind Arizona. Or maybe he was just saying that Lee looked fast against Arizona, so it's no surprise that Locker did too.
