  1. That's what you've got? He's jealous? Why don't you do what everyone else does and attach phobe to it? @Decked is clearly a Simmsaphobe.
  2. This....... I played D2 football. I also was around many legit D1 players through high school. I think it's lazy when people say he will excel at a lower level. If you can't remember the play or handle a snap, you're a liability. Regardless of the level of comp. He's a risk for whoever takes him. I think he's going to have a real hard time finding a decent destination. And I think we all know how it's going to go. EDIT: But a FCS school may want to risk one of their 63 schollys because he's a nice guy and good teammate. A D2 would most certainly consider breaking up one of there 36 scholly's to have a positive clip board holder.
  3. I get a little nervous about QBs like McCord. He has one of the best O Lines and a stacked receiver room. I'd like to see a player that is a game manager that has overachieved based on the talent around them. Seems less risky to me.
  4. And switch to Nike and hold a few “Backyard” practices at Pioneers Park.
  5. If you get 5 yards on 1st down and 5 yards on 2nd down you don't even need 3rd down. Coaches are dumb. It's so easy.
  6. Tells a lot about effort of this staff. Despite what many have claimed throughout the year. Hopefully they close on a pair of QBs.
  7. I'm going to get beat up for this, but it is what it is. I grew up watching NASCAR. I watched it when no one did in the 80's and 90's. I watched it all the sudden become popular with the masses and it has pretty much leveled off. I think this was the first year in 30+ years that I didn't watch one race. Branding is so important. I know people want to see the N on the helmet, but they also want to identify with the players. They want to know their story. They want to consider them Nebraskan's even if they are from Compton. I think this is one thing NASCAR has destroyed in Branding. The cars use to have one sponsor and you'd build a familarity with Tide, GM Goodwrench or Valvoline. Now the look of the car changes every week and I think it's hard to connect. The bigger thing has been the revolving door of very young drivers. You never build that bond with the driver(player) when they constantly changing and you don't anything about them. Different players every year, specifically at the skilled positions will hurt CFB.
  8. What I'd be doing is working with a Masters level Computer Science student trying to build a program that helps build football IQ. Take the players through scenarios and rules of the game and challenge them. Gamify what they will see on Saturdays. Make it fun, but teach them at the same time. Our Football IQ in Lincoln is terrible right now. Could be the next Hudl spin off. We do something similar to this in my current company. We simulate common scenarios to build awareness and capability. We are no where near the cutting edge, but there is some pretty interesting stuff out there.
  9. How did these backyard football games you played when you were younger prepare you for P5 FBS football? Was it touch? Helmets only? Who called plays? Help with my curiosity. You may be on to something. Hoiberg should have his players going to Prairie Life (Genesis) to scrimmage my son and his friends in the summer.
  10. Someone at Barstool was “working from home” today.
  11. This tells me the are trying to build a QB room because I don’t see them bringing in this guy to start. I really hope they bring in two.
  12. What percentage of these new arrangements are going to pan out? You have to figure a chunk of them are going to be a bust. Maybe not of Sims caliber bust. I think these kids see Nix, Penix and $'s.
  13. This whole thing is a joke. It's 100% out of control. Unless it makes Colorado look bad. Then I like it.
  14. This sounds similar to what Gundy has talked about. The athlete has almost no skin in the game. If I'm being fair, it has been the exact opposite forever. What you're saying makes sense to me. They would have to create a hard line between NIL and the institution, but saying there isn't one is silly anyway. I've also wondered about limiting what's available if you transfer, but I think that is too open and would just create more issues.
  15. I think they are going to have to figure out a way to balance NIL and transfer rules. I don't know that this kind of "free for all" exists anywhere in sports. In reality, this is how life works. But even that has gaps. Often when you're making this type of money there are rules/clauses or even stuff like "non competes".
  16. Wasn't OU his second team? He had a pretty good year. How anyone thinks a lower level team is ever going to keep good players in beyond me.
  17. The score was obviously horrendous, but I’m pretty optimistic after this. Creighton was hitting bomb 3s. Nebraska was hitting none. The Huskers also missed a lot shots close to the hoop. They did great things to get to hoop, but failed to convert. I am and will continue to skeptical of KT. The way he played today is how 85% of his career had been. Get confident and then start taking terrible shots again and again. I like the hustle Allick has. I wish he could score. It sounds weird given they lost so bad, but I still think they can be decent.
  18. And get a few of the point blank misses
  19. I think he checks the boxes of what Nebraska needs, but his skill set is different than a lot of the QBs in the portal. USC seems like a poor match.
  20. The better question is probably “How many more threads like this will there be before the 2024 season starts?” With a bonus “Will that count be higher than the win total?”
  21. I might be drinking Koolaid, but has this season normalized Riley a bit? His body of work is still pretty small and seems to anchored to one QB. Kinda like Jimbo at this point.
