  1. That's a great story. It's exactly the kind of candor I'd expect from Mike Leach. The college football world is a bit dimmer without him in it. RIP
  2. I'm leaning on my trust in Rhule. Maybe Raiola is better compatible in an offense like Rhule's than Whipple's. Here's to really hoping
  3. I'll withold judgement until I hear more details about the surroundings of his arrest. It's not a good look and like most people have said here, most people don't just snap on people out of the blue.
  4. Is he strong enough to move all of the stuff out of his office? Judging by his results with the team, I'm concerned.
  5. As deep as the depths this season has been and with all of the things that Iowa had riding on this last game, it's incredible we bounced back and won the game the way we did. It wasn't perfect, but we spoiled their season in a way they've spoiled our seasons where we were playing for bowl contention, only to be sent off with an Iowa kicker blowing a kiss. I won't forget the job Mickey took on, willingly. He circled the wagons and made the necessary staff changes in short order. His task was monumental and nobody expected success, but he kept the course and the kids kept playing. Frost teams would have lost this game 10/10 times. Mickey has instituted a culture change here at Nebraska. I REALLY hope he's kept on the staff (perhaps groomed for HC waiting in the wings). I'll always follow Mickey, whatever happens.
  6. Since I don't have a lot of time to do my own research and to look back through the threads, does anyone know Rhule's offensive and defensive schemes? Is he a spread offense guy, RPO guy? Is he a 3-4,4-3, or 4-2-5 guy?
  7. Never in a million years would I have guessed we win this game, in Iowa, with everything on the line for Iowa. Hats off to the team for being ready to play in Iowa City today
  8. Mickey is clearly working his a$$ off for this program. To be honest, I really don't even think he's in over his head. I just don't think he's got enough guys on the OL to be as successful as he'd want. Blame the guy who was here for the last 5 years, who had a chance to coach this porous OL. There will be mistakes that he makes during games, but I have confidence he will learn from them and he has already managed a few games very well regarding clock management. He checks the box on every organizational quality I'd want in a HC. He's great with the players and they love him. He clearly has a plan where he wants to go with this program. He's not coaching the team like a guy who will be gone in a few games. I loved that Sports Illustrated article. Mickey, from everything that I've seen and read, has a lot of integrity and grit. Every parent would feel comfortable sending their son to play with Mickey. He embodies everything that I'd want to see as a Nebraska Head Coach. He's getting valuable experience this season and I'm willing to give him a few years to see what he can do.
  9. I think Dylan Raiola learned his uncle can't coach OL.
  10. If Thompson is a no go for the rest of the season, let's just pack it in. Purdy was bad and Smothers seems to be extremely limited in Whipple's offense (also was bad). I didn't get to watch the first half and start to the second half, but the energy I saw from the team was different than past Mickey games. Only down 14 and it seemed like we were down by 50. Edit: From what I saw from the O Line, Tom Brady would look like a fool, too, behind that line. So, there's that.
  11. I didn't see the play. Any updates on him?
  12. The answer is right underneath your nose
  13. I don't follow recruiting like I did in the past. This story is awesome. He seems like a very humble, high character, well grounded young man. He's already lived through serious life experiences at his young age. I haven't had time to look at his film, but 4 stars on the services is great and an in state kid makes him a 5 star to me. I hope both parties prosper from being in each other's company.
  14. He didn't because he would have been blown out and Trev knew he had to save face before that. Mickey has won more games than Scott Frost this season already. How's that for data?
  15. Did we play within one score of Oklahoma this year? The facade had worn off and Frosts systemic s#!t storm had come to surface. Oklahoma is not good this year and we got raked over the coals by them.
  16. Disagree. This Purdue team was picked by most at the beginning of the season to win the (inglorious B10 West). They have some good players and a very solid coach. Frost would have been outclassed in every facet of the game tonight. Do we get as many TDs? Probably not. Do we get as many stops and INTs on defense? Probably not. Do we have a BLOCKED PUNT and make our field goals with as many XPs? f#&% no. We are improving in every facet of the game, but our staff is hand tied by the f#&%tards coaching these kids for the last 5 years.
  17. The spread was 14. We would have lost by 20 under Frost. The kids didn't quit. So yes, things have changed.
