  1. He let off a little at the end, can't do that in college or you get run down from behind.
  2. Most of the players starting today are members who played on the 2017 defense which was likely the worst Nebraska defense of all time (Was 2017 the worst Nebraska defense ever?). Front seven: DE 96 Davis, Carlos RS SR Mike Riley recruit NT 79 Daniels, Darrion SR/TR Transferred to play with little Bro who was a Mike Riley recuit DE 94 Davis, Khalil RS SR Mike Riley recruit OLB 22 Davis, Alex RS SR Mike Riley recruit ILB 31 Miller, Collin RS JR Mike Riley recruit ILB 7 Barry, Mohamed RS SR Mike Riley recruit OLB 2 Tannor, Caleb SO Scott Frost recruit* Backfield: NB 13 Domann, JoJo RS JR Mike Riley recruit CB 21 Jackson, Lamar SR Mike Riley recruit SS 19 Dismuke, Marquel RS JR Mike Riley recruit FS 5 Taylor-Britt, Cam SO Scott Frost recruit* CB 23 Bootle, Dicaprio RS JR Mike Riley recruit *last minute recruitment due to coaching change. 2017 "memorable" losses: at Oregon L 35–42 Northern Illinois L 17–21 No. 9 Wisconsin L 17–38 No. 9 Ohio State L 14–56 Northwestern L 24–31 OT at Minnesota L 21–54 at No. 13 Penn State L 44–56 Iowa L 14–56 I wonder if Frost is starting the Riley players simply because they get their dues for staying in the program (seniority) or the well is really this dry and this is all we can field. I am waiting for the day that it is all Frost players on the field, mostly the 2019 and up class, though there were some nice 2018 pickups, it was a last minute class. Only then will we see what kind of product Frost and co. can field. I don't expect any serious changes next season either, likely might see some improvement as more Frost players get on the field but don't expect us to compete for any Western division crown.
  3. DL can't move the offensive line and put pressure on the QB, LB's that appear to be clueless as to where they need to be. The entire front seven is like you said, garbage.
  4. <--- from and lives in Ohio, been a Husker fan since '82. Don't know anyone like that but there are some who have not stepped out of the stone age, but then again, those can be found anywhere in this world.
  5. OSU gives a "loan" to his friend who then gives Chase a "loan" which doesn't have to be paid back anytime soon.
  6. Still very optimistic for the future. But for this season, after that Purdue loss, kinda checked out. Still hoping for the best though with the next three games!
  7. Going from To Doesn't happen overnight.
  8. We also lost two pretty good offensive linemen in Farmer and Foster and it has shown this season with the QB under pressure on almost every down. Those two losses didn't seem big over the summer (they weren't exactly first, or second, or even third team Big10) but once this season began you could see something was very wrong with the line.
  9. If this team ever plays 4 quarters of consistent football in all three aspects of the game, I think it would be the first time this season. That being said, if they do that, they could potentially win both of those games. Will they? So far they haven't shown that they can put that kind of a game together so if I'm a betting man...
  10. This actually makes a lot of sense if you think about it, where are we ranked this season per coaches and media? Probably not too far off. We are sorely lacking in the talent and experience departments and it shows on the field. Give Frost at least two more seasons to get his first class to seniors and see how they play, I'm betting it will be an entirely different story.
  11. We will beat them, in Volleyball (maybe)!
  12. Run I-formation every down, when the defense stacks the box, play action pass. So simple that anyone can be Tom Osborne! Seriously, yes, Martinez has issues this year but you trust the coaches and no matter what, you don't burn your futures red shirt to try to get a W on an already lost season.
  13. He needs to keep his red shirt at all costs. I also don't trust our O-Line, as far as I could throw the lot of them, to protect his health.
  14. I learned that: - Our team plays to the lowest common denominator; worst team in college football? No problem, we'll play to your level, let you stay in the game and win at the end with your third string walk-on QB. - No matter how much the players and coaches say we don't have a culture problem and that this week was another great week of practice, when this team takes the field, they look like a Pee Wee league team playing. - That I would take the coaching staff and all of the players from the Wyoming program in a heartbeat over the crap I witnessed yesterday. Wyoming would have killed Purdue. - Outside of a handful of players, I would start all of the freshmen that haven't played yet this year in the remaining games, at least get them some experience, even if it is a$$ whoopings at the hands of Wisconsin and Iowa. We aren't getting those extra practices again this season. - That I am sick of analyzing this team's losses.
  15. This is what really concerns me the most. Our defense has a way of making opposing QB's look like Heisman candidates, unless we somehow make a miracle happen on D, they are likely going to score at will on us. Can we outscore the opponent this week unlike last week?
  16. I've heard this said multiple times on these boards but the truth is Indiana's offense is no slouch, they scored 31 on Michigan State's D and put up 10 (more than both Wisconsin and we did) on Ohio State. I fully expected them to score 30'ish points on us, the problem was all of the dumb mistakes (offense, defense and special teams) lost us the game.
  17. The offense looked really good before Vedral fumbled. We have pretty good 2nd and 3rd string QB's. Wandale is Wandale, the future is bright, just need better talent on the offensive line to really open up what he can do. We could have beaten a team with a better record minus the mistakes and if we actually had a pass rush. Giving any QB all day long to find open receivers will make any defensive backfield look terrible. Remember, we are using our second and third string QB's in this game along with other injuries. There is some areas where the talent is simply not there yet (especially on D), a few more recruiting classes should fix that. The offensive line wasn't as bad as some other games, maybe due to Indiana's line not being good either. Special teams is still bad. The team cannot blitz on every down to generate a pass rush, teams will pick up on it and beat up the secondary on big plays. This is NOT going to get fixed this year, need to get some better talent in the front seven to fix it. Frost is doing the best that he can with the bag of s#!t he was handed, give it some time, I know everyone wants to win now but this is reality and the reality is we are a mid-tier team this year and it will be two to three seasons before we are competing with the big boys.
  18. Sometimes it's better to just turn it off, go and give your loved one's a hug and remember what is truly important in life. Remember, it's just entertainment and if you're not entertained, time to look at something that is.
  19. Indiana players seem to have a injury problem on every big play.
