This is my thoughts as well. We also have held up decent with longer passing routes. Grant has made people miss but you can't have that many yards being terrible.

OL hasn't looked great but where do we get off that it is horrible? New OC, new OL coach, new WR coach, new RB coach. Not gonna go out there and light the world on fire right away.

We need to play an actual 3-4 more often with this team. We only have 2 true DL in the game. Nelson and Tannor are a little undersized playing DE. Our nickel isn't JoJo no more. We held up last year with Daniels/Stille but we cannot seem to do that so we need to take out the Nickel on most sets and put in another DL. Still leaves room for Nelson/Mathis/Tannor on the edge. And for the love of all things why do we sit in a base set on 2nd and goal? Again, put in another DL so it isn't so easy to run up the gut. IMAGE

Wynn/Drew > Robinson/Feist. Nash has played alright and gets a few pushes forward. Feist aint it. T Rob average Grant is our best RB since Ameer Abdullah Chinander doesn't adjust and has our safeties 15-20 yards off the ball. Sanford needs to play more. Farmer/Buford look lost half the plays. Our tackling was still abysmal Chins also sits in base on obvious running plays. We only have 2 true DL and 2 ILBs. It's a hat on hat and makes it tougher than it needs to be.

Defense can't get off the F'n field....16/22 1 TD QB and RB over 6 ypc. This is pathetic

Line has gone up 10 points in no time....a shark put down a massive bet or their team bus crashed on the way here.

Frost will win enough games and stick around

Looking back last year the defense was pretty good BUT we also never got to the QB. From rewatching games our secondary held up better as did our interior DL. Those were the two spots exposed imo Saturday.

Drew is the only interior guy who could probably make a move and get the QB but last year Daniels made a big impact. Stille and Thomas were pretty solid as well.

I never felt comfortable when NW passed the ball. Some of that was no pressure but our safeties were all over the place and blew a few easy coverages. Buford looks like he's 5'6 170 lbs and he did make a big play but also feet in the mud when RBs came downhill. Ddin't hear many complaining about the same LBs last year....I think this points more to the DL. Feist got pushed around easy and T Rob didn't look much better.

Staff ever think about putting Gifford at safety? Also give Sanford a shot at Safety? Play Kolaravic/Wright at Nickel...Looked like Feist and Robinson got pushed around a lot on the D line.

First two would only be interested because the B12 is under major uncertainty right now. Matt Campbell - I think his style would fit the team well. underdog mentality. runs the ball well. good culture Dave Aranda - defense first coach that also has track record in the B10 Chris Petersen - would for sure get us back to at least respectable. I wanted him in 2014 and he has proven to take Boise St to new heights and won 10+ games at Washington 3x in 6 years.

We should have won. Frost made abysmal mistake that cost the game BUT we don't know how good NW really is yet imo. They have proven to be able to beat teams and grind games out. I don't think their defense was that good but their offense was decent. O-line is strong with a few bigger backs. First games are ALWAYS tricky. I've been apart of game 1's and it doesn't determine the year. Again, the biggest weakness was the defense IMO. You can't give up that many yards to NW. Don't play Clark, Martin, Liewer. Play Rahmir and Ervin.

You mean to say it's a bad idea to have your safeties 20 yards off the ball when playing a team like NW?

Would love to get him, but literally the last thing I'm thinking about is a HS kid. We need to win f'n games.

Rahmir Johnson was a bright spot last year. 0 touches today "blackshirts" gave up over 500 yards to a very average NW offense the onside kick call was the worst decision I've maybe ever seen we put in walk-on Wyatt Liewer out of nowhere for a game winning drive we punted well and didn't have penalties. sadly few good things today
