  1. I have a hard time blaming Moos. He hired the coach that the fan base desperately wanted. Nothing wrong with that. His biggest mistake was adding on the extension that was completely undeserved. The Hoiberg hire and his handling of the rest of the sports seem to fine. However, after 2.5 seasons of Frost a few things are fairly obvious. Frost is not good at evaluating and utilizing talent. This was shown in his first season by having Ozigbo 3rd on the RB depth chart and directly aided in the 0-6 start. Further evidence is Jurgens being transitioned to center and being allowed to play despite consistently failing at the bare minimum. The handling of the QB's is another example. He cant quite figure out a coherent plan to manage backups and split time with the starter. Lastly, look at the WR group. Warner is not a D1 WR at any other program. For some reason, Frost plays "favorites" with lesser talented players. All of this leads to players that actually have talent to hit the transfer portal, which is exactly what we've seen. Another clear indication of poor coaching from the top is special teams. Sure, you can blame the coordinator, but I've watched shaky special teams since Frost got here. Top to bottom, across all aspects special teams is arguably the worst area under Frost. Punting, kicking, coverage, fielding a punt, hell getting 11 guys on the field has been too much to ask at times. The one area that has slightly improved is defense. Still outmatched for P5 football, but at least they are finding turnovers. Outside of Nelson, there is even some pretty good talent on the DL and LB. I'd love to see the coach figure this out but short of a miracle, I think we can see where this is headed. I'd give him until the end of next year only because of the length of the contract and how much money we are on the hook for.
  2. Ron essentially testified that anyone who voted for equal protection for homosexuals would be smited (smoten?) by God and could not be true Christians. And the "special protection" argument is a steaming load of crap. This is about equality. Ron's beliefs are Ron's beliefs. But, I'm trying to understand your viewpoint. What glaring inequalities do homosexuals face?
  3. you missed something. Maybe I'm wrong, but I recall that there was an attempt to get legislation in place to make it illegal for employers to discriminate based on sexual orientation. Ron wasn't saying they don't deserve the same right as everyone else. He was saying that they don't deserve "special" protection, which is exactly what the legislation would have been.
  4. Exactly, and do you see that changing? Outside of a 12-13 win season (winning cures everything, but we all know is a huge stretch of imagination) - this fan base is going to be divided for a LONG, LONG time. The impact it will have on this program could last for decades. I think the point that a lot of us are missing regarding Kchusker_chris' posts is illustrated in the first 5 minutes of the game broadcast. The FIRST thing said about nebraska was a lengthy dialogue explaining "Bo's" rediculous season. sure, they talked about the up and down year but Bo was THE story. What I think a lot of people are missing is that yes, we all know about all that stuff and have justified it somehow. Chris' point, i think, is that the casual fan who flips on the TV to watch a good game on New Year's Day has to be brought up to speed regarding the antics of Nebraska's coach. It shouldnt have to be like that, but it is. I too wish I could just watch the Huskers and not have to hear about Bo's season of antics. That being said, i'm glad they won and hopefully he can break through next year. I just tire of the Bo story line. I don't see it as media agenda, just low hanging fruit if you will. Nobody missed that point. ok. i guess the media just has an agenda against nebraska and poor ol Bo and it doesn't matter because KSU and Mizzou fans are just jealous and do not like Nebraska. No here says anything like that.

  6. Probably because they are redshirt freshmen or true sophomores I think they are all RS Freshman. I don't think we played any true freshman last year, but I could be wrong. Imani is and I thought there was a DL who played last year, Curry I believe. Imani, Curry and Janovich are the three that I have down. Gerry, Banderas, and Newby are all true freshman i believe.
  7. Danny Kannell has kind of grown on me. wouldn't mind him calling a Nebraska game.
  8. I have a couple of random thoughts to add. First, is it relevant what the players think? He recruited them, they better like the guy. does everyone love their boss? has anyone every had a coach they didn't necessarily love, but they pushed you past your boundaries? My point is, Bo's job is to build this program, wins games, and progressively get better. the players say they will run through a brick wall for the guy, but apparently holding on to the ball and catching passes are beneath them. this is total speculation, but maybe it's a senior thing. Look at the list of Senior players that have underperformed or got hurt, etc. Martinez - hurt, Burkhead - hurt, Enunwa - good season but had the dropsies lately, Niles Paul - dropsies, B. Kinney - dropsies. I certainly know that there isn't anything you can do about injuries but our Senior leaders tend to be let downs imo. Hopefully, Bell and Abdullah can break the curse but every year its like clockwork, senior leader gets hurt or falls into a funk.
  9. Considering Beck decided to abandon the TE this year, you just may be right. We throw to the tight ends a few times per game. We just haven't connected on very many. it's weird there's always one or two plays where Cethan Carter is open and we just don't quite connect. I'd really like to see them get it working, i think Carter has some potential, we just haven't seen him put it together yet.
  10. So are you trying to say that Bo's actions are acceptable because the media takes jabs at Bo and that its just a bigger deal because Bo doesn't use the "aw shucks" approach? I am not sure that I can say they are acceptable to everyone. To me, I have zero problems with what he has said. I think some of his comments are misguided but not fireable. I understand, i have zero problem with what was actually said either, THE PROBLEM is this constant theme that Bo and Co aren't man enough to brush this stuff aside and set an example for the young men they are expected to lead. there will always be douche baggery but the coaches continue to lend more power to the rumors / asshats by how they CHOOSE to deal with them. its like they insist on fighting an un-winnable battle. someone should tell the coaches they just won the internet and this would all be over.
  11. we need start scheduling some non-con games at nuetral sites and make more $$$. think about it, we pay SDSU, Southern Miss, probably Wyoming to come play us. If we had a nuetral site game in say arrowhead, or St louis or Jerry World we could split the pot without have to do a home and home split. just a thought....would be fun to do that with Oklahoma or Texas or USC etc, and get lots of exposure too.
  12. He absolutely has. From the coaches to the towel boys. Rather than bothering to try and build good will with the fans, he's taken shots at them. It's not smart from a PR move, and definitely doesn't give yourself any leeway when a season doesn't turn out the way everyone had hoped. I am 100% convinced that his hot seat would be a lot cooler if he would think before he spoke. this is whats hilarious about this staff. Has every other coach spoutted off about their fans? yes. Does every other coach have to deal with a$$hole fans? yes. but what you don't see from everyone other coach is an f bomb laden audio tape, quotes like, "contrary to what you believe, i haven't forgot how to stop the run" or jabs like this from Beck. This is how or moronic this staff truly is when it comes running a big boy football program. I'm sorry, but call it what it is. The staff needed to grow up about two years ago and stop whining. Seriously, all Beck had to say was that Taylor has given everything to this program and i'm sure the fans can appreciate that. period. Maybe no other coach has had an audio tape like that. Maybe no other coach is dealing with anonymous punks with an axe to grind. Maybe he takes some jabs. Tell me the Nebraska media doesn't do the same thing to him. Osborne did the same thing. He just had the "aw shucks" demeanor about him that would diffuse the situation. So are you trying to say that Bo's actions are acceptable because the media takes jabs at Bo and that its just a bigger deal because Bo doesn't use the "aw shucks" approach?

I didn't think so."--Will Muschamp to media See Mike Gundy tirade. Maybe its me, but i liked the Gundy tirade. for me, it really came off as him defending his player to the media, not the fans. i just didn't have a problem with Gundy unless i missed something.
