I think this would be great for Omaha. Even thought the Racers deal didn't work out so good. This time around the team will actually be associated with the NBA and will have some recognizable names of college players that just missed making it in the NBA draft. Thoughts?

Has there been any general timetable on this? How long do you guys think it will take for us to hire someone? We can't realisticly be pursuing a coach of a team that is still alive in the tourney besides Xavier's. Shaka would be an awesome hire but I don't think the interest is there on his part. I just really hope its not Altman. That would be really disappointing.

I agree...I hate how it seems like we are searching for someone that has to have ties to the university in some way. I don't believe in that at all. We need to look for the best possible coach for the situation and price. Even though they say money isn't an issue, we'll see about that. I just don't want to see us hire Altman because he is from NE and has been to the tournament a few times. We gotta go with a big name while we can. There are a lot of good coaches out there right now and if we don't get one, we'll be back in the same position we were with Doc....Six years of mediocre basketball. I am just concerned that I'm going to be disappointed with the hire if they base it on going after someone with NE roots.

There was only one mistake Taylor made all night. I don't see how anyone could've even wanted to see Carnes or whoever at any point during the first half or entire game. When Martinez threw the pick and OSU got the 3 points off of it at the end of the first half, that was not his fault. If we are going to try and score before half, that's fine, but don't run a QB draw and then decide we want to drop back and pass with 30 seconds left. When we decide we are going to drop back and let Taylor be a pocket passer for the drive and see if we can put up points before half, we are setting him up to fail and everyone is going to be all over him for that. When we ran the QB draw I thought we were going to just run the clock out...Then Beck calls for the pass and you know what happened...Same thing as before the half last week except we give them 3 instead of 6. I hated the play calling at the end of that half for the second week in a row...but Beck turned it around in the second half and called a good game. I have a lot of faith in Taylor when we have the run game going...It is opening up the play action passing and he can hit receivers that are wide open. I loved the second half comeback and hope we can get better in the off week and get ready for the rest of the season. We keep saying that bo and carl will figure out the D and we will be fine...I still believe this will happen but hopefully will happen sooner than later! GO BIG RED

Lets not forget who we were playing! Ohio State is TERRIBLE!!! I agree with some of your points but for us to be so excited for this win is just rediculous. Why did it take such a Herculean effort to beat this team? The fact that we are taking pride in this pitiful win is making me sick. We cant stop dual threat qb's. A slow, unathletic qb that is inaccurate we look great against. If Miller doesnt go down we lose, plain and simple. Are we gonna be able to hurt everybodys qb? No...This team shouldnt have even been within 30 points of us. Im just glad we dont play Northwestern or Illinois. We are going to have a hell of a time against Michigan. I guess our best chance there is to HOPE that Robinson is hurt. Northwestern 11/5 in Lincoln

I think it is going to be a higher scoring game...both teams in the 30s or 40s...We have to get the ball out on the edge...Get it to Turner!!! I don't see how we don't get Turner, Bell and Enunwa the ball more...Just get it to them over the middle or on short routes...they can make the first guy miss, then who knows...We have to use our playmakers better. I think we can come out with the win if we can get a few key stops on D and get a big special teams play or interception/fumble recovery deep in their territory. Go Big Red!

No, the best thing for ND would be to stay independent now...If there wasn't all this realignment, i would be all for ND joining the Big 10 or antoher conference

I agree 100% with you there. I don't know why everyone is so scared of Wisconsin either. They haven't showed anything out of the ordinary. People are saying, "OH, we're going to get killed when we go out there if we don't turn it around quick!" We will have to wait and see. It's all about how we match up with them one on one. Can't really compare who we've played to who they've played and determine who will win. Head to Head....we have a great shot! Can't wait! GO BIG RED!
