  1. Would Michigan have ever thought it was a rivalry if the record stayed around 30-14 (percentage-wise)? I kinda doubt it. No one's arguing this can't be the beginning of a future rivalry but we need to start winning against them more than 20% of the time for it to turn into that. Texas isn't a rival either. They didn't care about us. Their fans didn't care about us. One Wisconsin player doesn't convince me they care about us.
  2. Early voting looking good for Clinton. http://www.cnn.com/2016/10/26/politics/early-voting-statistics-2016-election/index.html
  3. I've been saying this for months now. As president he would bully anyone who ever so much as looked at him funny. He'd do whatever he could to make their lives hell.
  4. I never thought Kansas State or Colorado or Missouri were rivals. Also, if you look at the verb: Rival - compete for superiority with; be or seem to be equal or comparable to.
  5. The series record is 6-4 in favor of Wisconsin. We have held up our end just fine. We were actually leading the series until we joined the B1G. Going by your line of thinking, Oklahoma wasn't our rival either. The last time Nebraska led that series was 1954 when we had a 16-15-3 record against them. No, we haven't. Who the hell cares about what we did against Wisconsin in 1974? We went almost 40 years without playing them and those games didn't mean anything on the national stage. We are 1-4 since we started playing them every year. Oklahoma isn't a good comparison. We didn't have a 40 year gap there. Even if we DID have a 40 year gap now, they would still be considered our rival in 2040 because of the history we have with them. Our history with Wisconsin before joining the B1G was 5 games that weren't even all in a row. In my opinion (and I think most people's opinions), rivalries need all or most of these: Consistency - you need to play the team every year or at least very, very often. No 40 year gaps. Without that, at the very least the games you did play against them back in the day need to have been really important. Closely fought - you need to have had some really good games with them, and the record should not be lopsided Importance - the games need to be meaningful. For instance the winner wins the division or the conference or goes onto the national championship game. This is more of an iffy one since there are rivalries for terrible teams. But playing for something big increases the tension. We're getting there with the consistency (5 whole years) and the game has almost always been important, but we don't have the closely fought part yet.
  6. Not sure how to answer this. If we win I don't care how stupid or ugly it is (as long as we don't have bad injuries). If we lose, hopefully it's by less than 10 points and we never gave up.
  7. I don't mind having a Wisconsin player call it a rivalry. But it's not a rivalry until we beat them more often. We haven't beat them in Wisconsin yet, and the one season we beat them by a few points we get demolished in the rematch.
  8. Trump obviously. So, the way the United States picks which group of civilian-murderers to attack should be based on whether there are nukes behind them? And we should be scared to help anyone Russia is bullying or attacking because they have nukes? I guess that's why he wants to disband NATO, so we don't have to help face them. We're fine with letting Russia do what they want to Europeans but go batsh#t crazy about ISIS. Because Russia has nukes. Great foreign policy there. You've just telegraphed to Putin that he can get away with anything and you'll let him. Russia and Syria bombed civilians. They bombed a damn U.N. convoy. If we help them we have to condone that and put our name on it. No thanks. http://www.cnn.com/2016/10/25/politics/donald-trump-hillary-clinton-world-war-iii-syria/index.html
  9. Link She's probably had sex before too. Is he aware there's a difference between sex and rape, and between wanted/unwanted attention? Words like these come out of men and women who do the things Trump is being accused of.
  10. I'm gonna make up another phony poll AND ANOTHER ONE, so you CAN'T WIN!
  11. Would be cool if Wyoming beat Boise State
  12. Haha. I was just thinking about him and wondering how he felt about his decision.
  13. I'm not sure what the emoji means. You're usually really data driven, which I appreciate, so if you think my assessment of the B10, especially the B10W, is unfair, I'd appreciate hearing your thoughts on it. Well, for starters my "data" would be the AP and Coaches' polls. They're imperfect but a pretty good indicator. Next, I would look at Jeff Sagarin's ratings. There you find B1G teams at #2, 3, 10, 24, 31, 34, and 44. So half the conference is in the Top 45 including about a third of the Top 10. It's somewhat top-heavy but saying it's "poor" is out of touch with reality. It is out of touch with reality. The Big Ten went 8-3 against power 5 teams. Next best conference went 5-5
  14. For about 4 weeks I thought we were hiding the FB for Wisconsin/Ohio State, and then someone mentioned to me that we rarely ever even have a formation with a fullback in it. If we were going to hide the FB, we would probably have formations with the FB but just never run them until those games.
  15. This is a very wild dream! We should be concerned about the next game .... and only the next game. We are not on the team. If I want, I can dream up the scenario where we win national championships in 2017, 2018, and 2019, getting our first ever 3-peat. And it wouldn't affect the outcome of the Wisconsin game.
  16. missed that last part. If we win the Big Ten Championship we would be either #2 behind Bama or #1 in my opinion. We would have the best wins, especially if we caught an undefeated Michigan in the BTC. Wins over a (records at the end of the regular season) 12-0 Michigan 10-2 Ohio State and a 9-3 Wisconsin would be a fantastic resume No. So if alabama loses and we win out you don't think we have any chance at the top spot? That's ridiculous to think imo we would have the best resume or very close to it You didn't say anything about Alabama losing, so I assumed you meant if both teams won out. Nebraska would definitely not jump Alabama if both are undefeated.
  17. missed that last part. If we win the Big Ten Championship we would be either #2 behind Bama or #1 in my opinion. 18. Who was Iowa throttled by?
  19. Yeah. Because he'll nuke Iran off the map. Ya, I'm wondering what his plan is to prevent things like this. Make traveling illegal? Basically, Trump's claim is that NOTHING bad will EVER happen to ANY American when he becomes president. And his supporters believe it.
  20. I don't like Penn State but I don't understand why they're not rated. They have Houston rated and Houston lost to Southern Methodist. Penn State's losses are by 3 points to a 5-2 Pitt and to Michigan. Virginia Tech lost to Syracuse who is terrible and to Tennessee. They've beat some good teams but PSU just beat the #2 team in the country. I could probably pick out 5 other teams in the low Top 25 and do the same thing.
  21. Coaches is out. We're tied for 6th with Baylor, which I find weird since Baylor didn't play and we beat Purdue by 10. http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/rankings/coaches
  22. Your equation is interesting and does show how difficult it is to win the Big Ten, however pretty flawed in the fact that we could loss 1 and possibly 2 games and still win the BTC game. It's flawed in way more ways that, considering all of the game probabilities were just made up in my head. But you're correct. The B1G win probability should have said "while undefeated."
  23. I think we have a: 33% chance of beating Wisconsin 25% chance of beating Ohio State 80% chance on the next two 75% chance beating Iowa 25% chance beating Ohio State/Michigan 10% chance in semi finals 2% chance in finals 100*0.33*0.25*0.8*0.8*0.75*0.25 = 0.99% chance of winning the Big Ten Championship *0.1*0.02 = 0.00198% chance of winning the National Championship
