  1. Is it that much different anywhere else? The more money you have, the better neighborhood you live in, the more tax money there is and the better the school your kids go to. Since a higher percentage of Blacks and Hispanics are poor, a higher percentage of those minorities go to crappy schools.
  2. It would be one more game than what we currently have, for a small number of teams. (For the four losers of the 1st round, it'd be their bowl game). The lower divisions already do this. NDSU played 16 games this year. Ohio State played 15. The first round could be played 2 weeks after the conference championships. Then they'd get another 10 days or so before the semi-finals.
  3. If a 2 loss team, for example Michigan State this year, is better than a team with no losses, Florida State, who cares? I want the best teams in the field. There's no one on earth that can convince me that FSU was better than TCU. 8 teams fixes that and doesn't "water down" the regular season. If anything the regular season was heightened this year and prevented the awful BCS matchup of Alabama and FSU based on media hype. Taking 8 teams out of 125 does not diminish the regular season IMO, it's not close to the NBA or NFL ratio. I wouldn't be against doing away with the conference championship games to enable 8. Having the first rounds games at campus sites of the higher seed eliminates any travel concerns. IMHO Playoff teams should never be awarded home field advantage. It's how a lot of playoffs in a lot of different sports work.
  4. That's why the 1st round would be played at the top 4 seeds' home stadiums. It would be like a normal game, not many visiting fans. Just like the regular season.
  5. "When Urban Meyer got back into coaching at Ohio State, he made it clear what kind of program he wanted to build. SEC North." http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/wire?id=12104125 Still haven't been able to find a quote of Meyer saying anything like that.
  6. Uh, no. Baylor lost their bowl game. And don't give me that crap about them not being motivated.
  7. This certainly helps the B1G out with their ongoing TV contract negotiations...looks like ESPN's sandbagging attempts blew up in their face...Brace yourself for an offseason devoted to 'is it fair that they didn't have to endure the SEC regular season gauntlet?' That argument has already been put down on account of the SEC's abysmal bown season. The argument was that their bowl season was bad because they had such rough conference schedules.
  8. They stuffed them twice before that. I wouldn't say they look "lost." Oregon made them look silly on that first drive. Some big runs too. Shoosh child. They're way past their 1st drive at this point. Ohio State isn't looking lost, imho. If Oregon only scores on every other drive, they're doing well.

  10. I will be residing in this National Championship Game thread. Not the other one. It smells over there.
  11. Wrong again. I just wanted to argue about something. I think we have a decent chance at getting this QB.
  12. Actually your statement is false as our staff HAS contacted the Burrows. NU never contacted frost or Miller That doesn't make the statement false. I think one could infer that having contacted the recruit there is at least a small chance even .00000001% chance right now especially with surrounding circumstances. Having not contacted the other two options, there is a 0% chance. I guess if you disagree, at the very least we can agree to disagree! He said it was "about as likely." I'd say .00000001% is about as likely as 0%

  14. It made her uncomfortable. Enough to call the police. That's ALL that matters. Then he did it again.
  15. The problem is while Moss thought it was the funny, the Lincoln PD and the University of Nebraska didn't. Like it or not, athletes are going to be held to a higher standard and football at Nebraska are under an even bigger microscope. I have no data to back this up, but I think Moss's chance to play went out the window when Pelini got sacked. He is not being held to a higher standard. If you went and waved your penis at a store employee, the police would be called on you as well.
  16. Ron Brown's a great guy. Unless your particular sin happens to be one that he thinks is worse than the others.
  17. Pelini was 8-19, with 1-6 in the last three years. 0-4 this year. and thats my point, we got the same guy, just without the douchebaggery... How do you not see how wrong this is? We got someone with a similar record against Top 25 teams but he was doing it with inferior players to his opponents whereas, in most cases, Pelini was not.
  18. If these visits are free... I'd totally go on them. Free trip to Oregon? Hell yeah.
  19. So by my math Manning didn't even make it half way to his goal of an 11.5% increase in completion %. Is that really something to be bragging about? Serious question. It was a career-high, so yes.
  20. Ya, I noticed that in the town I'm from. No females ran for city council last year. I would vote for you, Moiraine. But one of your planks would have to be a promise not to post any more guy pictures in the Daily Skin forum. I would change our city flag to a picture of a guy wearing really tight boxer briefs. When do you need me to model? Your username doesn't make me confident in your ability to be a male underwear model.
  21. I'm going to put icy hot in the crotch of your football pants if you make the team. Or peppermint soap. Or itching powder.
