  1. This is sort of related so I'll just ask here, does anyone know of any 2013 recruits visiting now? I saw a couple football-shaped guys carrying Blackshirts binders today and they looked like they were being shown around campus.
  2. I agree, but losing David is worrisome. We couldn't contain mobile quarterbacks with him, and the thought of trying to contain them without him is scary. On the other hand, Bo doesn't believe in having someone staying on the quarterback (which David probably would have been good for) so maybe it won't be that big of a difference after all.
  3. That thread is over yonder, unless you're saying the players should wear cleats on their hands.
  4. No, it isn't. Or at the very least, you have no way of knowing that. Logically, it should be better than our current system of picking two teams. Having four teams highly increases the chances that there are two teams involved that deserve to be there.
  5. This is a bit of a stretch but it's a good effort. Some are only extensions so they don't provide any new assistance. And some are only available if certain conditions are met (hiring unemployed workers, providing health care, etc.) but any help is welcome. However, I'm curious if you read the entire article where it also talks about tax increases on small businesses that have gone into effect. I'm sure every situation is different but it appears to me that it could be a wash in a lot of cases. Just an FYI to any or all of you, keep in mind when "small businesses" are mentioned, that means up to 100 full time employees, at least in the Health Care bill. I think it goes up to 100 or 150 full time employees. Think about that for a minute. 100 full time employees and small business... I hate it when politicians from either side mention this and pretend like that's actually a small number. They know that the average person thinks of a small business as the local grocery store or auto repair shop. Those places might have 5 full time employees and 10 part time. They use that idea to get their points across but the idea in most peoples' heads isn't actually the same as what is in the bills they're speaking of.
  6. I don't agree with this. I can't count the number of times I've said "holy crap" because I can't believe he stayed on his feet during a play. I think he's just as good as we say he is, and if he remains off the radar (nationally), some NFL team is going to find out that they were very lucky in picking him.
  7. Maybe the reason people don't focus on his money as much is because he's one of the poorer presidents we've had. I just looked it up to check and his net worth is $5 million (or was when he was elected). He made $1.2 million in 2005 from book royalties. I've actually known for a long time that a big portion of his money came from book sales, so I don't see that he's getting a pass. I don't think I went out and actively searched for it. He's the first president since Truman to have $5 million or less when elected. It makes sense that Romney is more analysed, since his net worth is estimated at $190 million+. If elected, he'll be considered the 3rd richest president in history. In comparison, Bush had $20 million when he was elected and Clinton had $35 million (edit: just looked more in depth and that's post Presidency. Can't find how much he had when elected). It might make Obama look worse if the heat is ratcheted up and then it turns out that there's nothing shady at all. If Romney knows everything is legal then I don't know that it hurts to wait. There's plenty of time before the election.
  8. I guess the math dept should be shut down because the President was involved. I don't know exactly how I feel about all of this, but these are both bad points, imo. The crimes weren't covered up to protect the women's basketball team or the math department. They were done for the reputation of Penn State football so they could keep being a squeaky clean and powerful program. Football is the money-maker, not the other minuscule departments and teams. It also didn't involve any of the basketball coaches or math professors.
  9. I'll get back to you after I decide whether to be offended
  10. beat me to it. I was going to photoshop a caveman stick into the picture, but I got too lazy so now you'll just have to imagine what it would look like.
  11. As long as their underwear is white, I don't care about the rest.
  12. That's especially annoying considering that our genius plan is containment. if everything went perfect all the time, teams would never score on us. Im sure they set this up through other plays, sh#t happens, its football. Taylor was just as open when he scored against Ohio State, should they change their "genius" system? This would be a good argument if Nebraska had a good defense last year against running QBs. It's not like we're pointing out a rarity here. Nebraska played horrible against every mobile quarterback they faced (Ohio State, Wisconsin, Michigan, Northwestern). Obviously there is something wrong with the system when facing mobile quarterbacks.

  14. What are you implying? That their hindquarters are overly large
  15. This is a great place to talk about Obama. I can't believe I didn't think of it first.
  16. Why don't we just have a 600 pound nose tackle and run a 1-6?
  17. I guess I don't think Missouri sucks as much as some of you do. I think they'll also have a good chance against Arizona State, Florida, Tennessee, and Texas A&M.
