  1. I'm not sure why anyone ever cites the EPA to prove a point. Their word means almost nothing. That being said, I'm assuming an underground pipeline would be a lot easier to monitor and repair than a well that's three miles below the ocean surface. I don't understand why people focus so much on this stuff though. We're talking mostly temporary jobs here. Temporary is better than nothing, but it's still temporary. We're talking 700,000 barrels per day. That's about 1/30th of what the U.S. uses per day. How much cheaper is it to make this pipeline than to import the oil from one of the usual countries? How much does it actually matter if we do this? Is it because it's lots cheaper, or because we want to buy 700,000 less barrels from <insert name of middle eastern country here>? (I'm actually asking. I don't know the cost comparison). But I think people spend way too much time thinking of how we can get oil faster and cheaper and keep our daily lives exactly the same, and too little time thinking of how we could just consume less oil in the first place. I mean, the chick at the grocery store I go to double bags my toilet paper before I can stop her. (On a completely unrelated note, I really want to know why. Does she think I'll be embarrassed that someone might find out that I go to the bathroom on occasion, and thus want to hide my purchase?)
  2. <-- thought the thread was pretty funny.
  3. Because hiding behind a computer requires balls. I get it...?
  4. I didn't argue that they shouldn't be ranked above us. I just said it irritated me that we can't play them. That being said, I think we'd win.
  5. It's irritating seeing Kansas State above us. I know we can't play in two conferences at once but it sucks not being able to knock them off
  6. On the other hand Nebraska seems to play better when they are ranked lower in the polls and are the "underdog." Who knows how psychologically prepared for the Penn State game they would've been if they were ranked 7th. I honestly think they might have lost because they would have felt more invincible. If Bo can figure this out in future seasons then he'll have solved his teams' biggest weakness.
  7. Penn State's not gonna beat both Ohio State & Wisconsin They just need to beat Wisconsin now that Ohio State lost to Purdue. I still find it unlikely
  8. Wonder how many pairs of gloves Kenny Bell would go through if he got a new pair each time he looked down at his hands. It's just a knee-jerk reaction. I mean, I understand making fun of them, but I look at the tennis racquet when I make a bad hit, and I'm awful at tennis. I know it's not the racquet's fault, but I do it every time.
  9. Yeah, because we didn't beat washington, penn state, ohio state, and mich state...therefore we are not a goon enough team to take on a "bcs level team." People like you severely annoy me. I am sure that you were sure that we were going to lose to mich state and penn state as well. Have some confidence in your team. When we are on our A game we can compete with any team in the country. I think he's saying a team that makes a BCS bowl game. I'm pretty sure he knew exactly what skers was saying. It annoyed me too. I'd rather us get into a BCS game and lose than go to a crappy bowl. I think we can compete too, if we don't have a NW-type game.
  10. I know Robinson is great but I've seen their backup play before and he looked pretty good
  11. Penn State's not gonna beat both Ohio State & Wisconsin
  12. We need the defense that played against MSU to show up.............I'm nervous as hell for this game. Actually we need the OFFENSE that we played against in the MSU game to show up accross the ball from us...Somehow I don't think that will happen. Ya. Let's give all credit to the other team sucking and none to Nebraska. Everything good Nebraska ever does is because the team we were facing happened to suck that day. This is my plan from now on. You've convinced me. edit: I may have overreacted if you were just talking about mobile QBs. *takes a pill*
  13. I agree on that particular play. I don't consider that the receiver's fault, really. But every other time the ball hit a player's hands in this game, it was on the receiver. Save maybe that really high short throw on third down to... Enunwa or Bell.
  14. Yep. The minute I heard that they wanted to walk the game ball to his house... I wanted Nebraska to win more than anything.
  15. They can sneak it for the first down easily. The biggest mistake was being fancy on our second to last drive. We could have run a minute and a half more off the clock by running it up the middle three more times.
  16. The meeting in the center of the field isn't a tradition for Nebraska before games (that I've ever noticed) but some of the players do it at the end of every game.
  17. did we really need another topic on this?
  18. sorry but you're quoting some guy from Kansas I've never heard of and another guy from Pennsylvania. That doesn't indicate anything to me.
  19. Yes... like I said in another thread, that's the most damning thing for Paterno. If he trusted him enough to hire him as a coach, he obviously also trusted that he didn't lie about what he saw.
  20. That's how a statement should be. Not "This is an official Nebraska Statement, but I'll still mention that Paterno's my best friend"
  21. I had that same thought... the D.A. thing makes it feel like that. Too bad it's not a movie instead.
