I have a more personal side to this debate. I went to Nebraska from 2003-2008. I'm from Houston, TX as was David Dyches. He went to my high school and I knew him form a kid, so it was pretty cool that he was going to Nebraska too. At the time he was one of the highest recruited kickers in the nation. He had an offer from Ohio ST. but chose Nebraska. His freshman year I roomed with him at Abel. Dyches was one of the most athletic guys Ive ever known, and this showed his freshman year when he played very well. And yes, he did single handidly save us in the Penn ST. game. Unfortunately for him, the guy that recruited him, Solich was fired that year and in came ole' Bill Callahan. I was able to see first hand how David reacteed to the new coach. He never said anything bad about Callahan, but you could tell that the two butted heads and did not get along. How do you explain David being a Freshman All-American one year & then the next year, the guy he beat out, Sandro De-suckass starting over him. Didn't make sense. This seemed to wear on Dyches & his work ethic seemed to take a toll & I believe this showed in his kicking. Needless to say, compared to the kicking greats we've had in the Browns & Henery, Dyches and Congdon pale in comparison. Just wanted to share a more personal story on the matter. One more thing, Dyches was always reading the paper & would always ask me about the negative comments toward him. Do you guys think the players on this team get caught up in what the media says about them? If I were a player I don't think I would ever read an article or watch anything that pertained to our team or myself. Seems that would be the best way to keep your head clear.

One thing I've noticed a lot about the Huskers is the inability to adjust in game. When teams come out and smack us in the mouth, we have a tough time of adjusting the playcalling and figuring out what else we can do to be effective

This probably isn't the best forum for this, but I was just wondering if there is a tool or a way to send invites directly from HuskerBoard.com to people's emails, facebook, etc.?? I know a lot of my friends and fellow alums would really enjoy this site, but like most people when you tell them to join they don't. Whereas if they were to get a direct link in an email they would be more inclined to join. If anybody knows how to do this or something along these lines, let me know. Thanks.

Giving how terrible we played, I like how ESPN is still getting on its knees for Jake Locker. The dude showed he's not going to be a next level QB. Yea he ran for 85 yards and a TD, but he still only completed 33% of his passes for 71 yards! I just hate looking at ESPN & Yahoo sports saying how Locker went out a winner and all this about how great he is. I guess I'm just digressing and pissed from last nights loss. Anywho, have a great new year everybody

NebHusker72, you are spot on. The zone read is a play you should run periodically throughout the game. Not on every single 1st or 2nd down. What absolutely blows my mind is that when the zone read is clearly not working ( and this has happened in many games), Watson just continues to run that play. We do not have an offensive identity, it's that clear. If Watson were to go, is the OC job at NEB an attractive job? Also, what type of offense should Nebraska even be?

I'll tell you what a let down is. I graduated NU in 2008. I live In Houston, TX now. I've been to 4 Husker games since: Texas Tech @ NEB - Loss NEB vs. TX Big 12 Champ. game - Loss TX @ NEB - Loss NEB vs. OU Big 12 Champ. game - Loss Maybe I just need to stop going to Huskers games

I graduated from Nebraska, and I am a die hard Husker fan. With the recent events, I begin to wonder, just how great of a job is the Nebraska head coaching job? How does it rank among other top division 1 schools?
