  1. Overall, this is a 6 of one, half dozen of the other type deal. We don't know what would have happened in the other situations because they didn't play out. Take the starter out early and the bullpen could've imploded. Keep him in and he could have imploded. Pitch Gomes and he could've sent them down 1-2-3. Pitch Schanaman and he could have given up the 4 runs. All that is known is that Nebraska lost after being up 3 with 3 outs left. The odds of winning at that point are high and they failed. Why they failed is anyone's opinion.
  2. Guess for me it'd be more about who was next up. They just needed 1 more out at that point. I know a HR is less likely but the dude is their best HR hitter, you just felt some nonsense was gonna happen.
  3. What are your thoughts on walking Boone instead of pitching to him?
  4. We knew OSU had those power bats and yet we still turned to a fastball-only pitcher. But that's baseball! I understand it's hard to break from roles (this is our closer he needs to close), but he was such a mismatch for them.
  5. If I'm allowed an opinion that's not MMQBing, I'm more okay with keeping Waldren in. He was pitching well and getting out of jams when he got in them. I think they would have been better off not putting Gomes in at all. Dude can only throw a fastball and that's something I don't think you want against one of the better power hitting teams.
  6. Not calling for them to lose, just saying they have a lot to overcome tomorrow and they just made that mountain harder to climb by shooting themselves in their own feet.
  7. No. They should have won. Period. Up 5-2 with 2 outs. Losing shouldn't happen, and it takes incredible man mismanagement to happen.
  8. Unacceptable. Erstad absolutely f#&%ed it I guarantee they lose by at least a few runs tomorrow.
  9. I know they're good. Especially good hitters. But they were up 5-0 and up 5-2 going into the 9th. They've completely blown it. Yeah, because he could throw something besides a fastball He was starting to struggle
  10. Tournament is over. No coming back from blowing a 5-0 lead. Way to waste an 8 inning performance for the starter. Just f#&%ing stupid.
  11. What a smart decision to leave a fastball only pitcher in against the guy who's hit the most HR in the Big XII. Dumb.
  12. In excited for all Final 4 teams. Anyone winning is going to be great. Michigan State last won it all 19 years ago. The other 3 have never won it all.

All four made it to the F4 by not fading in the spotlight.  None of them flinched against great competition.

I dislike the SEC but I think I'm probably rooting for Auburn. Super fun to watch and just outed a team without one of their top players. Now that we have Hoiberg, I wouldn't mind his son winning at MSU either.

You're right, there really is no wrong choice to root for it seems like.

  13. I'm bummed James Palmer or Glynn Watson didn't make it to the dance.
  14. Dammit, dammit, dammit. I hate that we're going to have to fire Tim Miles the person. I'm okay with firing Tim Miles the coach
  15. Dammit, I don't like having to think of Tim Miles possibly not being the coach.
  16. I dunno...people said Kemba would go cold for UConn during their run. Who knows?
  17. Maybe Copeland being out will open up some things. Sometimes having too many options is a bad thing. I'd imagine Miles will go Watson-Allen-JPJ-Roby-Borchardt. We'll need Akenten Borchardt and Heiman to step up, but maybe moving Roby to the 4 will be better for him.
  18. And the injury happened for such a dumb unnecessary reason...
  19. On February 3rd, if watching the Rams play the Patriots in the Super Bowl evokes some deja vu, it's because the Rams and Patriots played in the Super Bowl 17 years ago on February 3rd, 2002. It was Brady and the Patriots first Super Bowl. We've come full circle.
  20. Reminder the year we went to the tournament, we started 0-4 in the conference. I think, at times, this team puts too much pressure on themselves and starts forcing things or trying to make the big shot or big block. They are a really good team, KenPom says it, NET says it, opposing coaches say it, they look like a good team. Honestly, last night could have boiled down to a few of those in and out shots falling. That's unlucky. I think theyll go into Rutgers and put up a comfortable win, then pick up a few in a row. The Big Ten is really good this year, as shown in non conference play. It sucks that the year we have our best team, the rest of the conference is also on a high. If this were last year, we'd be flying through the conference schedule.
  21. That's a tough call at the end. Not sure I would have made the decision to overturn. Altered the game, but that's how it goes. Great championship match from a team that has done the university and the state proud. 3 finals in 4 years, 2 national championships, 4 straight Final Four appearances. Foecke and Maloney should go down with some of the absolute greats in Husker volleyball.
