The other BTN channels normally ARE inactive. They only activate when there are multiple games, as overflow channels. Otherwise they are dead channels. If you have experienced NOT getting games when you know there are games on those channels, please let me know. It is something I need to look into. For instance: BTN might look like this on a weekend early in the season when no big games are on*: BTN: OSU/Western Michigan BTN2: Nebraska/South Dakota State BTN3: Illinois/Rutgers *Example purposes only. I have no idea what the actual schedules are. Usually BTN tries to schedule with as little overflow as possible, so those channels aren't usually showing anything. Thanks for the feedback. It seems they are wasting those channels away when they are showing older football games on the main channel. Well it's "free" to re-air an event. It costs money to broadcast a live event. I'm assuming they don't see enough interest in it to go out and broadcast it.... I have been disappointed with BTN this year, FWIW. If that low level of a college "sport" can make it on that high profile of a channel, I believe our Volleyball can peak enough interest along with some of the Hockey games.

Technically, they won 4 trophies this year. They won all of their rivalry games. And these are trophies that will never stay in their case. So they can enjoy them for 1 year.

You say that they give you all the BTN channels, but do they ever play anything on the other 2? I have Direct tv with all the BTN channels and only 1 channel plays games, the other two are white noise. Am I missing something?

So why even have Conference Championships if the PC picks a team that didn't even make the championship? If Oklahoma got an easier opponent and lost, it would be easier to say that they didn't belong there, but personally I believe they did and just crapped the bed at game time. IMO the playoffs has yet to fail and last year is proof. If we didn't have it, it would have been Alabama vs Oregon and again this year it would have been Alabama and Clemson (as it is) and still your Ohio State wouldn't have been even a forethought. Should Ohio State been in it? Sure, but as CH stated, they screwed up and lost the bid to go to the Conference Championship. Could you imagine if Iowa would have won the championship game? I am sure even more people would have been up in arms about it.

I can see why they jumped Mich St over OU. IMO they did this because OU didn't play a Conference Championship game and also had a terrible loss to Texas. Both losses would have made them equal, but the Championship game put Mich St ahead of OU.

Don't get me wrong, I hate all teams that aren't Nebraska. But when it comes to Non-conference and Bowl games, I am wanting our conference sisters to win. Why? Lets look at last year when Ohio State was being considered for the play-offs. Everyone was saying that they played a weak conference and shouldn't be in the play-offs. If it wasn't for the Big 12 Fiasco and had they picked the right team for the their champion, I believe Ohio State would have been out of the play-offs and this year they would be saying we are still weak. I read an article from ESPN that the author thought that the B1G was going to be the next Conference to take control because of last years bowl games outcomes. Now with this year coming to a close, we have Iowa, Mich St and NW that are blow-outs. This is looking bad for next year. Lets just say Nebraska does go win and are considered for the play-offs. If we as a conference look weak, we won't be considered if we are head to head with another team from a different conference. You simply cannot look at Nebraska's field, you must look at the grand schemes of things to plan for Nebraska's future.

I understand the concept "It's their bodies, let them do what they want" concept, but to just as in the military, if the University is paying them (scholarships), it's technically the Universities body. They are the ones paying for Food, Housing, Training, etc., so they are the ones risking everything allowing the body to do what it wants. If the player doesn't like that type of rule, they can always give up that scholarship and go smoke all they want.
