  1. Hmm... Random post on here. Another thing that needs a little tweaking in my opinion is recruiting. For some reason, I think NCAA 11 has a special feature that allows schools to pay recruits! TX aTm just reeled in the #1 recruiting class with 6 (six) 5-star recruits... while going 5-7 on the season. USC reeled in a #3 class with 4 (four) 5-stars while going 7-6. I just don't get it! haha
  2. sh#t the video looks good but doesnt it always... and i agree with you ez and this is the name i keep hearing again and again which means sh#t i hope we get him!!! I agree that good video isn't a guarantee, and there exists more good video than players who live up to the potential displayed in them. But video doesn't always look good. Can anyone more qualified comment on the kid's throwing ability? He definitely has the arm, but hismotion looks quite awkward at times as he throws off his back foot. But other teams, he seems to be able to make really needle-threading throws. I'm fairly clueless about this, but I don't know if his deep throws are going to be there at the next level. He can't loft it off his back foot like that, can he? He is a good runner though, and shows some very good promise with some of these passing plays, not just in the throwing, but how he executes them. I'm not even sure mechanics are that much of a weakness, maybe it's just consistency, as he has quite a number of really good throws the more I watch this. The best news for me is that he doesn't jump off the page as the kind of guy who will be a liability in being completely raw and inexperienced with playing QB. In that respect, I'd be really stoked to get this guy in as one of our QBs this class. I'd love for someone more qualified to make a call here to weigh in with this guy. EZ or Willie, what do you guys think? He jumps out to me as definitely more of a polished passer than Turner last year, and I know you were high on Turner's passing EZ. And being ahead of Turner in that category definitely puts him ahead of Starling, Green, and Martinez (in that category). And his athleticism, and nose for running the ball, are both clearly not lacking. I want to say this is the kind of QB I'd like to see us recruit more of, but without confirming opinions, I'm hesitant to put him into the same category as Carnes. Also jsneb, lol For some reason, this kid's throwing motion looks pretty similar to Mr. Wilson's out of NC State... and it looks a LOT like a baseball throw. Maybe this kid plays baseball?
  3. Yes, thank God... Now we can have an easier discussion... RK III still going to start.
  4. Nothing wrong with watching a little Tommy Frazier every now and then...
  5. Article Sounding good with Andrus. Oh Todd, don't start pulling that stuff now.... Force him!
  6. What I want to know is when the NCAA puts some solid boundaries on rules like this? I mean, at this rate, I'm just waiting for a kid's grandma to make him a sandwich and it goes up in flames. Not like we haven't seen just as bizarre stuff coming to the surface this past year.
  7. Dude.... if we lose this recruit... it's on your head, buddy. Jusssstttt kidding. (Well, not really, but you get the point)
  8. Hey, if you want to look at this way... I added Brion Carnes, and he always has nice things to say. (Que for the QB discussion to begin... NOT.)
  9. It's also how Cam got out of the whole laptop deal, but.... Let's hope Aaron Green isn't even close to half as shady as Cam Newton.
  10. Random update, for some reason I thought it necessary... Eric Martin has claimed on Facebook toady that he was hated by the Offensive Coordinator and by "Coach Bo" before this year. Now, there might be a reason why, but...
  11. Hmm... sounds like the man might be smarter than we think. He didn't gave anything to Aaron.. He left it with the pastor at the church.
  12. Any chance at all he plays CB? I mean, no one thought Prince would either, and we saw how that worked...
  13. Anyone have any idea what happened to this kid?
  14. They also need to fix WR's being able to reach completely through a DB to grab a ball.... I lost a bowl game once because it happened twice. QB tosses up a long ball, the CB is right there with the receiver... and his hands go through my helmet to make the catch. It's slightly angering...
  15. My uncle was a kicker for Wyoming in the 80s, and I ended up discussing this with him at some point. Something that a lot of people don't realize is that they (college athletes) physically are not allowed to get a job while being a part of the program (mostly due to constant interference with practices, lifting, film, games... etc.). In my opinion, I think the players at least deserve to receive some of the millions of dollars they are raking in for the schools/NCAA. I know they get a free education, but like Malth said, you gotta' be able to live. ESPN had this on today, and Jalen Rose did a bit of talking about it, and I thought he had a great perspective on it. While he didn't mention much about his opinion on it happening, he focused on what this does for the B1G. He made two points: (1) When the "good guys" start to get in trouble with rules on money and players(*cough* Tressel) it's time to change the rules, (2) he thinks this is going to be a major recruiting advantage for the B1G. He said that if it went through, we'd have a great chance at the Big Ten landing huge athletes that are generally limited to the SEC. Any opinions on this?
  16. Maybe someone can tell me why... I mean, not that they matter all that much, but why are his rankings all across the board? One site says 3 star, one says 4, one says 5... Any particular reason some doubt him more than others?
  17. Roark --- you are so correct. People who see us with 10 (or more!) regular season wins are to be commended for their enthusiam and are certainly updeat (which is good) but are bound to be really dissapointed. I see the regular season as a 7-5 record. There is an outside chance, probably the next most likely regular season record, at maybe 8-4.... though Roark, I'd agree that a 6-6 is also fairly reasonable a possibility. In no way can or should we expect this team to win more than 8 games in the regular season ... and that is with 4 teams on the schedule that are gimmes. This team is way too inconsistant, is too prone to being flat, poorly prepared and play with out intensity, they have a "new" offense (maybe!) and are too prone to penalties, fumbles, taking needless sacks and... well we are still a mid-uppermis conference-level team... maybe inching up in the right direction... but a long way from a 10-11 win regular season against this upcoming schedule. Roark and I may be wrong, and I'll go out on a limb and speak for the both of us in saying we hope we are wrong... but wow... I cannot see where these predictions are coming from... did you guys see the last 5 games of last season? Woah, woah... I thought this board was for Husker fans? Therefore, HuskerBoard.... It's spring, boys. Quit complaining and start drinkin'.
  18. Not any update on recruiting, but Mr. Shoff will be competing in the State Track Meet next week. He is leading all classes in the shot put, throwing a little over 59'.
  19. No, no, no... the Watson Special is getting us to 3rd and Nebraska. And then calling a HB Draw.
  20. I think that saying our program's going in the tank might be a little bit of a stretch....
  21. Pair this kid with Michael Rose.... I'm likin' it!
  22. Soft? Yeah, good one... check this out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6OO-w04DUv4&feature=player_embedded#at=86
  23. Oh hell no... How would that look if when he gets to be a Jr./Sr., we have a Danielle on the Blackshirts starting D-Line?
