  1. Update on James Pensyl (QB recruit from Land O Lakes, FL) According to Pensyl's twitter (and this article) he is still solid to OSU
  2. I wouldn't be upset with this at all. I live in the same town as Pensyl and my oldest son plays against him. I have seen him play the past two years. He is got a rocket of an arm, is smart and from what I can tell (my son and he follow each other on twitter) he's a good kid. He did have somewhat of a down year this past season, but truth be told, his receivers were God awful. So take it for what it's worth... (prolly not much) but anyways...
  3. That was a LAME match! Ticked I stayed up to watch it.
  4. That is awesome you get to have Thad Randall come in and speak. Last year and this year as well, we will have Lavonte David come in and speak with our kids.
  5. Kaz, check out this coaching site: http://coachhuey.com/ Free to sign up and a lot of good info/ideas
  6. That's too bad about the outlaws...it was a great show! Loved the videos on that site...the only thing missing is the scent of alcohol filling the air as they blow by! Got goosebumps watching those! Taking me back bro...taking me back!
  7. LOL...great story about Steve and Sammy...it doesn't surprise me at all! I didn't realize the World of Outlaws stopped going there. How long ago did they stop? That many cars is incredible considering the size of the track...if you go, you gotta post some pix on here. I would love to see that!
  8. Would love to! Over a 100 sprints cars?!!?! That would be awesome. My favorite weekends out there was when the World of Outlaws came into town. Watching Slammin' Sammy and Steve Kinser go at it was a sight to see. All that horse power on that small track was a beautiful thing! LOL! And I think I remember that name Deterding...been a long time though.
  9. Love Eagle! I used to be out there every weekend from about 1986-1990. My dad and I were part of the the pit crew for Dennis Parker and the 3BK sprintcar. But alas, in 1990 graduated from HS, went off to college and have never come back home. But I have GREAT memories of that place.
  10. No doubt! this is no joke, as my son and I were watching right before Seth went "heel" we were wondering out loud when the the shield was going to implode...literally, 5 seconds after we got done talking, bam...the chair. We looked at each other and went, "whhhhaaaaaaaaaattttttt?!?!?!?!"
  11. and then have it inked before it washes off!
  12. Here's the obligatory "talk is cheap" comment
  13. I know I haven't contributed to this thread..but have been following... Just read this morning that the Ultimate Warrior passed away at 54 yesterday in Arizona. UW was my favorite wrestler as a young boy...sad day. http://www.myfoxtampabay.com/story/25200065/2014/04/09/iconic-wwe-wrestler-dead-at-54
  14. Something I came up with for my son's fball team... Don't know if this will work or not...trying to upload an attachment... final JM entrance song.mp3
  15. Love the talk on the 3-5. My son's HS runs the 3-5 and he is a "Dog". They stand him up and rush him off the edge quite often...he loves it b/c he got quite few blindsides this past year. I don't know what you guys think, but I think it is a pretty good HS defense b/c it does seem to cause quite a bit of confusion for HS offenses.
  16. Chuck Norris' anser to Claude VanDam! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9W82sMSMJJg
  17. ^^ There will never be another like him! So glad I got to grow up listening/watching him call games!
  18. I would give it another couple of weeks. If you were inactive for a long time it's highly likely your body is just adjusting right now. Things are a little different at 40 than they are for mid 20's like me, but when I started lifting again I went through swings of plus or minus 3-5 pounds for 2 or 3 months, and those could be 3 pounds in a week. I was working on my dialing in my diet too, but I wouldn't be to alarmed just yet. Focus on your form and progression of strength for now, and check back on the weight in a few weeks. Thanks ZRod...will do. Not really excited about going to the doctor's anyway...b/c...well, I don't like them.
  19. Minnesota...thanks for starting this thread...and thanks to all who have replied with all sorts of replies/suggestions (even the sarcasm!) but I am right there with you man. With my job, I do a lot of sitting as well and now that I am north of 40 years old, I have been putting it on. For the last month and a half, I have been going to the gym to do lighter weight with high reps in a circuit training scenario. After that, I hit the elliptical hard for 20 minutes (can't run or treadmill due to back and knee issues - thanks years of football!) and really trying to watch what I am eating and feel I am doing fairly well in that regard. This is where it gets frustrating. In the month and a half or so, I haven't lost a single pound. In fact, I have gained 4.5 pounds! I would like to say that it is muscle gain, but seriously, when I was training for football back when I was in college and I was full of piss and vinegar, I couldn't put muscle on that fast. That is why I appreciate the OP and the feedback in this thread...I am really racking my brain trying to figure something out. I think the next step is to visit my doctor and get some testing done to see if I am not battling a thyroid issue or something...
