2nd in rushing from QB play not anything from RBs.

Ervin is average when healthy (he never is)

Johnson is totally average when healthy and hasn’t done anything lately

EJ is good but I think he is just being compared to below average running backs

Ives has done nothing & so has Dante. Not to say they can’t produce but this is the great unknown.

there is a lot of IFs. I think talent wise we will be average to below average in the conference. Which is not great considering we will have to get rushing yards from the backs this year and not QB play.

Being a bit dramatic on the QB rushing.  We had 847 combined rushing yards from the 3 QBs and had 1300 yards combined from the RBs and WRs.

HH led the team with 477 yards on 120 carries while Grant had 413 yards on 104 carries and EJ had 411 yards on 90 carries.   Grant and EJ's combined had almost as many rushing yards as all 3 QBs.

  2. Our RB room isn't as bad as what some think.  RJ and EJ have proven to be serviceable and could actually be every down guys if needed.  Ervin just needs to catch a break and stay healthy.  Ives and Dante are young but have TONS of potential and just need some game reps.  We essentially have everyone back from last year minus Grant and we were 2nd in the B1G in rushing.

BTW, five years ago or so, I posted my design vision ......

second deck, closer to the action

The foundation on the south side can’t handle an upper deck and that is why they haven’t expanded up.

  4. I think it's a pretty well known fact that the Athletic Department gives the Academic Department money to make up for short comings.  Now take away some money from the Academic Department and the Athletic Department will more than likely make up said difference which can put a hinder in projects.

  5. Who will get hired first, a new AD or University President?

We have gone 7 months without any word on a new President and if we follow the same with an AD, we might not have one by the end of football season.

  6. We really need to be better at riding guys out.  We seem to give up the easy escape and it usually comes back to bite us in the a$$.

I would also like to see some of our guys be more aggressive on their feet.

It means a lot to the presidents. BUT, football money will override it...or Notre Dame. I heard Miami has good academic credibility like ND. Although I somehow find the hard to believe. :confucius

Yep.  FSU has an invite to the B1G even without being an AAU member.  They are still a top research and academic university in a state that we would love to get into.  ND keeps standing ground on not joining but the thinking is if FSU and Miami join, ND might be persuaded to join along with another ACC school of their choice.

  8. UNC and NC St. are tied at the hip.  If UNC decides to leave without little brother, they have to pay them LOADS of money.

Miami and FSU will be the first set of ACC teams to join.  Both teams already have the go ahead from the B1G when the ACC’s GOR is dissolved.  Also, the AAU status for FSU doesn’t mean squat to the other B1G members but FSU is on their way to gaining it.

We made it all the way to page 2 before the David comp! Which, to be fair, is hard not to see. Undersized but speedy LB spurned by his hometown Canes who ends up at Nebraska - that's going to be tough to live up to, but you know he'll have a chip on his shoulder. And I'd take anyone with legitimate upside at LB at this point, that position is thin on underclassmen.

Miami had him playing as a MLB because of how he reads plays quickly and that is why I said Lavonte.  I could also see him playing outside because of his speed.
